Who was it dropped Escude after the Feyenoord game - Blind. Who was it who refused to pick Escude when he recovered from injury in October, refusing to even put him on the pitch - Blind. That has nothing to do with the technical director - Blind picks the team and at a time in the season when Ajax were requiring natural central defenders Blind never even had him on the bench. Blind sowed the seeds of his departure by his refusal to acknowledge him, even although he was club captain.philippe schreef:No, it's not Blind's fault, it's the responsability of the technical director, praised by Ko for the very same reason.bryan schreef:@phillipe: I don't agree. You can't sell one of your best defenders and then blame injuries when you don't have enough defenders.
It's Blind's own fault that the team is decimated by injury.
Now to answer the other part - did Ajax sell Escude or did Escude ask to leave. Who knows as nobody has came out in the press and stated this.
In my opinion, it is like any other job in the world that if you are made to feel surplus to requirement which Escude probably felt then if somebody comes along and offers you a job elsewhere where you will made to feel wanted - you will take it. Now as I say this is only my opinion of what happened but to blame the Technical Director for Escude's departure is nonsense especially when none of us are privvy to what actually happened.
In addition Blind is responsible for overseeing the players training not the TD, so if any injuries are caused in the training ground then you have to question the trainign methods.
