New Players for Ajax

We are signing a 20 year old Danish Right back Rasmus Nissen Kristensen from Midtjylland.Fee 5.3m euros. Veltman looks likely to go in the summer and we will now have this Danish lad plus Orejuela. Zeefuik will get loaned out.

We really are planning for next season.

Actually there are doubts that Veltman will leave, the only type of teams interested in him are teams like Hannover. He could slot in the centre with de Ligt, if Ajax have 2 or 3 right backs by next season

Well perhaps by the end of the season, Zeefuik would be sold on, while Orejuela could do with going on loan or stay at Jong Ajax, Ajax need a seriously experienced right back, I am, of course thinking of Vurnon Anita

Rasmus Nissen Kristensen officially signed for 5.3m euros ,contract to 2022.Will be in our first team squad so Orejuela and Zeefuik are out the first team picture.

We signed a 17 year old Croat goalie called Dominik Kotarski back in the summer but he was not allowed to play until his 18th birthday which was last week. He got a contract to 2020 in the summer but yesterday signed to 2023.

He is technically a new player as from last week and will join Jong Ajax.Its not clear but I assume he can now play straight away.

According to BILD, Ajax already made a €7 million bid for the 19-year-old defender (Rick van Drongolen) in January but that was rejected. The Amsterdammers are expected to return with a fresh offer in the summer but will face competition from clubs in Germany and England.

A bit late now. Ajax should have signed him instead of Wober. I severely doubt that van Drongolen would return to the Eredivisie while in a stronger league.

Dont think he is that special but we dont need another teenage defender.de Ligt will stay another year but with Wober and Schuurs we need an experienced CD especially if we play in Europe again. Obvious that Viergever should stay,Overmars should have given him an extension last summer ,now PSV want him for free.

I've seen van Drongohlen play several times for Hamburg and do not think he is all that special. Wöber appears to be just as good given he has missed some considerable time because of injuries. I agree with SPL about Viergever.

If you would have gone for Van Drongelen you should have been at least a year earlier. The guy doesn't seem to be playing very good in Bundesliga and his team is performing terrible.

Van Drongelen and HSV are in big trouble and really have to fight to prevend of being regulated to Second Bundesliga. Borussia Dortmund does not seem such a logical step.

I can understand Ajax eyeing up Argentinian central defender in Lisandro Magallan (although I would prefer Leo Santos of Corinthians, former team mate of David Neres). But why a Danish defender in Mathijs Jensen? Ajax have an abundance of midfielders, esp. those coming through the youth ranks.

Good analysis by SPL! I wonder if Cerny can come back from his knee injury. Also we have some players out on loan but maybe only Zeefuik is first team caliber. I don't know much about how Owusu and Savastano have been doing and maybe they will be out of contract in June. I agree about Kluivert; give him a deadline and if he doesn't extend put him on the market and tell him he doesn't even train with Ajax any longer.

Great analysis. But knowing Overmars, we'll probably sign 2 youth goal keepers and a youth RB to prepare for the CL qualifiers.

Rumours are that Ajax are already looking at a replacement for de Ligt, Mexican international central defender Edson Álvarez, who is likely to represent his country at the world cup in Russia. The fans of his current club, club America, adore him. I have given up hope of keeping de Ligt, he is almost certain to leave, especially if ten Hag stays.

The fundamental flaw with Ajax, is that when they sell a top player for big money, they replace him with a 'potential talent', which rarely works. e.g. Cassierra for Milik, it failed but luckily Dolberg came through well that year. And recently Wober for Sanchez, which has proven to be a failure. Now with the imminient departure of Justin Kluivert, Hassane Bande is set to replace him, he isn't top level, yes he has potential but don't expect him to set the field alight. Even if we go back a few years, the same thing happened with other departures, and replacements. It never works, Ajax should change this, buy purchasing an experienced player or loaning a decent player from a top side from e.g. the premiership.

Agree with you to some extent but dont rate Kluivert as a top player.He has performed well against Roda, Willem and did take his goal well yesterday. He is always in the press because of his name. He should just push off to Man u where he will never be heard of again. Bande may be an improvement and wont be in the press everyday saying how great I am and when will Barca sign me.

We should have bought a quality defender to replace Sanchez. Wober is still making mistakes . We will need to spend money to replace de Ligt.

I read an article on the internet that from the summer of 2015 to date we have spent 100m euros on players!! It was only when I went through the list and counted up it was indeed right.

Our u19 cost more money than the whole of the Jupiler league sides put together Pereirra and Jensen cost 2m each.

Our Jong side had 3 who cost a combined 10m ,ie more than any side in the Eredivisie apart from PSV and Feyenoord. Cassierra 5m, Johnsen 2m ,Orejuela 3m.(These 3 dont seem like they are going to be first teamers next season)

I think all teams make mistakes in bringing in young players. Look at all the Danish youth Ajax has had over the past eight years and only Eriksen really has been outstanding. Boilesen and Fischer are back in Denmark, Andersen is in Switzerland and only Dolberg looks like a first team player. We have had three Colombians and Sanchez clearly is outstanding. I'm not sure that Ajax's record is any better or worse than any other Dutch team in this regard other than they have more money to spend.

Scouting is so difficult these days because the teams in the big leagues have so much money. I think it was just amazing that we did get Sanchez who was already somewhat of a proven talent with his club. Ajax have also been plagued by losing some youth players from the academy when they didn't step up with contracts fast enough. However, it's not clear whether these players will succeed. Fosu-Mensah was loaned out by ManU but is not a starter. Redan is still young as is Familia-Castillo and we all know how difficult it is to break in with the top EPL teams who can simply go out and purchase established talent when they need to.
