Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
Good news :).
I hope he will play as good as he used to a few seasons ago for Alkmaar.

Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
It's interesting to see how 'locked' the transfer market is right now.
A few years ago it would have been a piece of cake for a player like El Hamdaoui to get a great contract somewhere, but right now it's just not that easy. I heard that there was a one million euro gap between the salary he demanded and the salary Ajax offered him. Two years ago that would have been end of story. He would have moved on and signed elsewhere. But now the market is pretty dead. Ajax dropped the name of Mpenza in the press and El Hamdaoui himself called back: okay, okay, I'll take it.
It also strikes me that there is no concrete interest for a guy like Luis Suárez, simply because no-one can afford a 40 million euro player right now.
Having said that: one major transfer in Europe can start the merry-go-round and open up the whole market. August will be a long month, as usual. But for now the market really is stone dead.

Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
Great signing. Hopefully he can gel with the team.
Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
It seems there are still somes details to work out, this is why he was not presented yesterday. His agent is asking some new stuff...
The transfer fee could rise to 7 millions euros if Ajax play the Champion's League.

He wants more money so the deal is far from certain.

It's going to be raining goals this season. Excellent signing.

Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
Apparently Galatasary is interested in El Hamdaoui. That's probably why he is dragging his feet on the contract.
Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
rumours that another team interested and he asks for more money having agreed initially. Not at all sure he will come.
Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
First Jol, now Hamdaoui; this game of 'chicken and who will blink first' is getting tiresome.SPL schreef:rumours that another team interested and he asks for more money having agreed initially. Not at all sure he will come.

Seriously it's very tiring
. He would've definitely been useful tomorrow.
Why does it always seem that we are without options during these negotiations? Same thing happened with Jol as well as El H.

Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
Yeah, the press confirmed it as if it was a fact, but no... Still pending and not looking great.
El Hamdaoui gave Jol his word twice and he also underwent his medical, but then his agent started to fuck around.
More news when it happens.

But, he is the one who has to sign on the dotted line. He is just letting his agent fuck around.

Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui

How much is he demanding? Typical of the so called "player power"......should do what I suggested five years ago,,,,offer a good basic pay but make him earn the rest in bonuses!!!

34 will always be with us

To paraphrase William Shakespeare, "the first thing we do, let's kill all the agents." (from Henry VI, part 2; Act 4, Scene 2). Appropriate for this time of the year!

Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
According to the press he wants compensation for loss of income from his sports shop in Rotterdam, as
sales will fall if he joins Ajax.
This is so far fetched it could not be made up !!!
Ajax have to tell him agree today or thats it .

Re: Mounir El Hamdaoui
He should decide what he wants to do - playing professional football or selling shoes and shirts. Mounir will earn over 1 mln euro per year, so he doesn't have to be worry about small shop.
Maybe it's time to look for another striker? A striker who will concentrate about football and only football.
