Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Well in the Terborg cup we lost 3-2 to Twente in the semi and meet Keizer Chiefs for 3rd 4th place play off.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
A1 beat Keizer Chiefs 2-1 and finished Terborg 3rd.
This weekend is the Copa Amsterdam which is a big event . The squad is going to be amix of A1 and A2.
(4x A1 are with Dutch U19 , those Jong who played this weekend at Terborg are all in Curacao and the B1 have a tourny)
This should get some publicity . Will any of you Dutch guys be going??

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
We have two 17 year olds from AS Trencin on trial at the moment. Apparently AS Trencin is owned by our own Tschen La Ling.
Jorge Salinas is an attacking midfielder originally from Paraguay.
Fanendo Adi is a forward(1.93 m) originally from Nigeria.
CORRECTION - Adi is 19 years old.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Our B1 are playing in aEuro tournement in Leeuwarden and today beat Real Madrid 1-0 . The goal from Ouasim Bouy( under contract by us ) . Tomorrow they play Anderlecht, Cologne and AZ .
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
The B1 are in for a busy day .They have already beaten Anderlecht 4-0 (ko 9.30 CET) Ondaan 2 goals and Gravenbergh and Denswil 1 each. Gravenbergh is a year younger than the others and is a B2 player ie U16.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
B1 's continued to win . I believe the games are all 25mins each way .
After their early morning win v Anderlecht they beat Cologne 3-1 with El Yaacoubi scoring and Lazic 2,
Lazic is another U 16 from the B2's and his older brother is in our Jong Ajax team.
Final game of the day 3-2 win over Az , Denswil, Fennich,Schoop.
They have evidently qualified for the semi even though they have one more group game to play, F word!
Bad news A1 lost their first game 1-0 to Sevilla in the A1 tourny in Amsterdam. They have 2 more group games and need to win both to get to the semis.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
The B1's lost in the final to Groningen 1-1 at full time then 4-2 loss on penalties.Schoop scored our only proper goal . Earlier they drew 0-0 with Fword and beat PSV 1-0 in semi , Schoop again scored.
The A1 beat Fluminense 2-1 with trialist Salinas and young A2 defender Veltman scoring . Thier last group game v North Holland.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Good new for our A1 they beat North Holland 1-0 . Veltman scored, and now play Chelsea in the semi . Az play Servilla in the other semi .
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
A1's finished 4th in the end . semi final lost 1-0 to Chelsea . 3rd 4th playoff v Az 0-0 at full time we lost penalties . Chelsea won the final v Sevilla 0-0 at FT Chelsea won penalties.
A fairly good performance overall considering Bizot V Rhijn and Ebecilo were with Dutch U19 . Bonevacia
was with the first and Sneijder Burnet and Castillion all injured although those 3 would have been with Dutch U19's if fit .

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Boilesen picked up the 'Man of the Tournament'-title after his first matches at Ajax. Regular watchers were impressed by his performances, seems like a great asset.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Good news about Boilesen
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Our B1 team played in the Varsseveld tournament and in the final v Auxerre , yes they lost on penalties.
Ajax and Holland do not do penalties. In the B1 's defence 3 of their best players were out with injury .
Bouy, Sporkslede Klaassen
Last youth games next week U 19 and U 17 cup finals so both our B1 and A1 teams in action.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Guess this is the place for this post. This Sunday's New York Times Magazine will have an in depth article on our youth academy. Solid piece of journalism and it's on line early: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/06/magaz ... ref=soccer It concludes with a visit to a youth game where a 5 year old is on the Ajax radar screen.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Thanks Orange for posting it . A very interesting read and insite into our youth system.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Good article! Although it turns a bit sour when that guy from Fulham (did they ever developed a player?) is saying that Ajax is a bit too arrogant... That doesn't really make sense... But overall its a very good piece of reading. And you see that every talent is on the radar.. even 5-year olds. But that has to do with the fact that in Holland, the amateurclubs are very very organised and they are everywhere. Every small village has its amateurside, bigger cities have many clubs. No other country in Europe of in the rest of the world has so many (amateur) football players playing officialy at clubs (in proportion to population). In Germany for example, you don't play organised until your 13 or 14... before that age its mainly kicking against a ball in the street.
Whitey on the moon.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Thanks OG . I had already been looking at this. The main day of the summer for youth ie the list for next season and also confirmation of who goes.
The Jong squad it says some may go to Almere City (omniworld). Danilo has been offered a contract but not decided and they are not sure of whether Randel Shakison will get another contract (he had alot of injury and does have an option to 2011)
To the youth there has been a big clear out as most of the last seasons A1 are now with the Jong Ajax leaving Hahn , Koppers, Boere all under contract and staying at A1 level for another year . The only other A1 from last season staying are Ligeon and sub goalie Berrevoets.
Kip, de Kamps, Veltman and Lukoki are promoted from A2 to A1 the other A1's are all from the B1 . Bouy, de Sa, Denswil, Klasssen and Sporkslede all contracted. The only contracted pro not in the A1 is Jip Bartels , A2 , but that is because he has been injured since January and may not be fit for another month or 2. Apart from him there are still 3o4 others in the A2 who have appeared for Holland 's U17
so this bunch of youth could bring forth some talent for the first team in future.
Final comment the A1 and A2 players who have not been given contracts have found other teams :
Worms , Brinkman , Serrarrens and Receveur all get contracts for NAC Jong team. Wildschut to Zwolle for 2 years. In addition Heemskerk to Charleston college USA, Ze eduardo back to Brazil and Portegies sadly retired due to heart condition . (to complete the A2 goings Barentsen and de Visser both released with a year still to go and will join amatuer teams)

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Nice listing. I thought that Zeegelaar was leaving for greener pastures but is listed on Jong Ajax. Let's hope that the members of the Jong team get all the playing time next year except when injured players need to rehab for a game or two.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
I was wondering if those in the know about the Ajax youth system can tell me anything about the following players:
Gyliano van Velzen (Forward)
Xandro Shenk (Defender)
Ouasim Buoy (Midfield)
Stefano Denswil (Defender)
Jizz Hornkamp (Forward)
The reason I ask is a friend of mine claims to be in the know when it comes to the Ajax youth set-up and he as told me to look out for these names. He is a bit prone to exaggeration so I was wondering if anybody knew anything about them?

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Welcome . I follow the youth at U17 to u19 but if you go back up this page to 10 June and Orange goblins post he has listed all players for 2010/2011 from Jong down to U14 .
I am not sure if you know how the youth system is numbered but
A1 is U19 1st team
A2 is U19 2nd team
B1 is U17 team
B2 is our U16
C1 is our U15
C2 is our U14
You will see 4 of your names . Ouasim Bouy and Stefano Denswil will be in the U19 A1 team and are highly rated . Both have contracts with the club to 2012 and were regular Dutch U 17's last season .
Xandro Schenk is in the A2 team and he too played at Dutch U17 level last season . Van Velzen is in the B1 but the other name does not appear but could be younger and in a lower age group.
Hope that helps .

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
It does. At least I now know my mate is not totally full of it! I shall look forward to seeing how these players progress. I'm hoping to get back over to Amsterdam sometime soon as I haven't been for the best part of 10 years. I was totally blown away by the facilities and some of the talent I saw. I wish Scotland would learn from this!
