Bittersweet win today, conceding a goal in the last couple of minutes. We have a lot of positives from the season and hats off to Martin Jol who has led us out of the wilderness!!! Let's hope we can retain the core of this team as they could really be special next season.

I assumed from the cheers that twente had scored a second well done to them .You could tell in those last 10 mins our players knew they would not be champions. Twente have been up there all season .We had a great run 14 wins in a row and 16 wins 2 draws since our last defeat . 5 goals let in during that time and today's mistake was just like several others ie another soft goal. In those first 20 games we gave away too many soft goals ie NAC and Fword back in January. And several before Christmas .
However after game 20 ie F word we were about 9 points off the top 2 and no one thought we would get anywhere near the top 2. 14 straight wins was fantastic and I salute the team . apart from the ADO game they blew everyone away in those games played great football and at least we are now 2nd and can plan ahead.

We need to offer Urby and Pantelic what they require and hope Suarez and V d Wiel do not leave . That would leave us with the squad that has swept all before them since Christmas.

Lets finish with the Cup and stuff the lowest form of football life .

Oh yes Chelsea beat Liverpool and must now be odds on to finish above Fergusons mob so thats one crumb of comfort today .

What a shame,despite a fantastic run we couldnt quite make it.If you had said to me at Christmas we would take it to the last day of the season I would have said you were mad.Martin Jol has done really well and we must now hang on to him and the core of the team and we can go one better next season.Congratulations to Twente,better them than P$V,its a shame they had to hook up with that twat Mclaren to have some success,we wont here the bloody end of it now with the English press.
Anyway,as SPL says,Chelsea look certain to stop the dirty reds winning the league so its not all bad news.

Turned over to watch the Twente game when ours was 0-3. NAC looked awful and it was Twente's to lose, despite Ajax doing their part. Shame that's how it goes with our goals scored, and for once in the last few seasons, fewest conceded. Looking forward to smashing fword next weekend.

I kidded myself into thinking that being pipped by FCT would hurt less than losing out to Ciudad de Bombilla or the name and area code we shall not speak. IT F*****g sucks !!!

I just hope Martin Jol sees this season as unfinished business and returns for next year , that our core will feel likewise and will return for one more run, and that any personnel we lose will be replaced by intelligent purchases.

Very bittersweet. We had an absolutely amazing second half of the season. Hopefully we keep a lot of the first team together and acquire a striker (if we can't keep Pantelic) for next year. Hopefully Castillion or Suk make the jump and add to the options.

Finally after a lot of years of watching Ajax - I feel good about the team and about the future.

Our fate was not in our hands, and these these situations often end sadly. Too bad. We played very good football this season. Let's make sure we crush fayenuts in the cup final second leg.

I'm proud after today. Sure it is a pitty that we missed the championship on 1 point, but I have seen a better Ajax than the previous 4 years. Jol made it into a team with a lot of Ajax yougsters. Next year we will cash some prizes, no dout about it.

All the credit goes to Mr.Jol for creating this team. Though we didn't won the Eredivisie i'm very happy. This season is really a demonstration of what a good expierienced coach can do. With limited funds and only two signings for money (De Zeeuw and Lodeiro) Jol built up a very good team. I am very happy about the fact that many of our players become better footballers this year. Now we are in to the tricky qualifications of the CL.

Pretty incredible effort from Twente as well (Shteve or no Shteve), you have to give them some credit for hanging on. It was kinda nice to see the fans crying with happiness after the final whistle went in Breda. Ah fuck it, at least it wasn't Feyenoord or PSV.
