Pantelic is missing, possibilities as centre forwards are De Jong, Suarez or Suk. Suk made a good impression on Jol, but might not be ready yet.

Gabri is fit and will probably play, as De Zeeuw is suspended and Enoh is away for the ACN.

Castillion would start ahead of either de Jong or Suk. He was in the selection last Sunday and started the Jong Ajax match the other day. Can't see Suk at this point in time.

Castillion doesn't seem higly rated by Jol. In Portugal he only played because Pantelic got an injury, he was not in the selection last sunday while there was not any centre forward, Suk can already train with the first team since monday or tuesday and today Jol only spoked about Suarez, De Jong, and Suk...

Thanks for the clarification. I've always thought that De Jong might make a good striker. He's got a good solid shot and good ball skills. It's worth a try.

The couple of times I watched the games he was in (on sopcast -- not live), he did quite well. He seems to have a good "fighting-spirit". I always thought he should get more of a chance. I hope he gets his chance and hope he does well.

with Enoh in Africa I would imagine Lindgren will get the nod over Gabri. Gabri has not played for along time and did not even play in either Jong game so it looks like Lindgren will get another start.

Jol has said Castillion is still developing so he probably thinks he is not yet ready . I would let de Jong
play in the centre and let Suarez play wide.

Selectie voor duel met AZ

Ajax-trainer Martin Jol heeft zaterdag zijn selectie voor het competitieduel tegen AZ bekendgemaakt. Hyun Jun Suk behoort tot de 18-koppige wedstrijdselectie. Het is voor de Zuid-Koreaanse aanvaller de eerste keer dat hij tot de selectie behoort. Ajax – AZ begint zondag om 12.30 uur.
De wedstrijdselectie bestaat uit de volgende namen:

My post earlier I forgot de Zeeuw was suspended. Lindgren and Gabri of course are the defensive MF but Gabri has not played for many weeks and I did think he would play at least 45 mins for the Jong this week . Given his recent injuries will we risk him for 90 mins ??

Will be interesting to see if Suk gets on .

Entertaining half with chances for both teams. Some very poor clearances for us in the back line putting Vermeer in trouble. He did have two great saves. Am I the only one who things Van der Wiel is not playing particularly well these days? I suspect that unless one of the AZ players gets a second yellow that this will end up 1-0 one way or the other.

Lucky to be 0-0 at HT. Strange that Ari didn't score when he had his chance, this guy seems to score everythime he play against us. But hei, hes still has time.

Vermeer did well a couple of times near the end , the free kick and before that the rebound from the bar.
This is going to be a struggle to win I just hope our defence does not make a stupid mistake or forget how to mark like last weeks goal !!!

There isn't any player who did more pass than Suarez those last 3 seasons in the Eredivisie. But the man is still seen as an individualist... He's a man of contrast.
