( the B 1 team won 10-0 v NAC Breda today with Ouasim Bouy scoring 4 , he was asub for the A1 yesterday but still does not appear to be under contract . I do hope Arsenal or Chelsea are not going to steal him !!)

Another good reason to unload some of the unused (and unusable) veterans. Since we are regularly putting 6 academy players on the pitch with the first team, we should forego the transfer market completely and get our youth players as much experience as possible. Sign him up and back to the future!!

Thanks for that Benji . we do indeed have some talent coming through and most of our A1 team only Ligeon and Koppers are not under contract.Given that we have not won the title for 5 years it is clear that this season our previuosly crap defence has been rebuilt with youth players and they are a lot better
than the imports we have signed.

At youth level we have Bizot Hahn goalies
V Rhijn Burnet Koppers Lidgeon in defence
Eriksen , who is evidently a great talent,Sneijder Bonevacia in midfield
Ebecilio Jozefzoon Castillion and Boere in attack.
These should all be playing at reserve level this season (Bonevacia and Castillion are already but not regularly)

Several of our B1 are coming through also with Bouy the best .

Hopefully some of these lads will come through but one thing this club needs to do in January is not just to clear out fringe 1st teamers but some of the reserves who are clearly never going to make it.

Ajax A1 beat PSV A1 by an astonishing score of 7-3!! PSV are still top of the table and are 4 points ahead of Ajax A1.

Future looks good as 9 of our B1 youth have been included in the Dutch U17 squad.

6 of them are under contract to 2012 ie Denswil,Sporkslede,Klaassen,Bouy, Bartels and da Sa . All are still 16.(Schenk,Niewpoort and Fennich being the other 3 not contracted.)

11 of the 2007/08 B1 team were put under contract but the big problem is how many will develop to the first team .

It looks just like my backyard here in Bethesda, MD. About 12cm of snow so far this afternoon but then we don't have a football match scheduled!

And the happiest footballer in Amsterdam today must be Dico Koppers, a defender in our A1 team .
He has been given a 3 year contract running from July 2010 to June 2013.And he was 18 only 2 days ago . Well done young man .

The only other A1 player who may get a contract this coming July is Ruben Lidgeon a right back but he has another year to go in the youths . Nearly all the other A1 squad are already under contract .

Ajax may give 2 or 3 more of the B1 squad a contract ie Nieuwpoort and Schenk are both defenders who have been picked in this weeks Dutch U17 squad. (The other 5 Ajax players in the 22 man squad are contracted.)

Ajax A1 ie senior youth team drew 2-2 with Fword today and are 3rd , 6 points behind PSV and Fword with 4 to play .Since Christmas when Eriksen moved up they have struggled a bit more .
With the help of the Google translate I do read the comments of the dutch guys but they do not appear to be over excited with some of the players ,who are nearly all on contracts .Boilesen has still to play due to injury .

Before today our A2 and B1 teams were leading their leagues.

On the subject of U17 ie B1 I will post here that the Dutch u 17 are playing a qualifying group this week
and if they finish top will be in the European U17 finals . So far they have beaten Ukraine 2-0 and Georgia 2-1 . A draw on Tuesday v Czech Rep will mean they finish top and qualify .

There are 7 of our B1 team in the squad of 18 . Nieuwpoort, Denswil, Bouy and Klassen and da Sa have played in both games with the other 2 Sporkslede and Schenk not yet playing (these 2 are defenders and being kept out by 2 F Worders).

Clearly we have talent at U 17 level but whether they kick on in the next 2 or 3years remains to be seen .

With the current U 19 players most will be in our Jong team next season so it will be interesting to see if they develop at that level .

Forget to say on Tues the Dutch U17 with 5 Ajax B1's lost 1-0 to Czech rep and have not qualified for this summers U17 european champs. Shame as its always on sky and with a max of 7 Ajax kids in the squad would have been good to see them live.

Ajax won tournament beating China in Final

Just reading about it . We beat Liverpol 1-0, Barca including Cruyff's grandson 2-0 , China 4-0 . AC Milan
3-0 in the semis and China again 1-0 in the final .

Not surprised we let in no goals as all the back 4 are Dutch u17 level .Reading the translations on our dutch speaking site as some of those lads went . Evidently Denswil a centre back and Bouy, an attacking goalscoring midfielder are the 2 players our Dutch mates rate .

We shall see. It is very hard at this age to judge who will make it . 2 years ago we gave 11 members of our U17 ie B1 contracts . This season only 2 have played a reasonable amount of Jong footy ie Bonevacia
and Castillion. The others are still at youth level . In fact if we were judging those 11 now for their first contracts I would say 2 or 3 would not even get a contract as they are not regular A1 youth players.And the others would not get more than a 1 year deal with a year option.

6 of the current B1 team are in the first year of 3 year contracts and will all spend the 2 nd year and maybe 3rd year at youth level . I cannot say I agree with this .Surely you give contracts to kids finishing at youth level.We have been giving away contracts to youth players in the last 2 years simply because we are afraid Chelsea or the chief child thieves Arsenal pinch them .

Anyway it is still great that our U17's beat some big names and won the tournement .

Good news! Maybe some day this will translate into our senior side beating their senior sides! I take your point about extending contracts to the youth players. I guess the main question is whether the risk/reward ratio is in our favor. We know all these players will not make the senior side but "if" enough do than it will be far preferable than spending tenfold the amount of money on transfer fees to older players who clearly don't rate. Maybe four player salaries equals one Wielaert transfer fee or something like that. Maybe that is the benchmark we should be going by!!!

Our B1 team won their league today witha 3-0 win over Twente . They have won it with 3games to play .
Yesterday Bergkamp's D2's won theri league.

The A1 won yesterday 3-0 v Twente but are still 3rd with 3 to play Fword are top 6 points ahead of Ajax . PSV are 2nd but only 3points ahead of Ajax.

Our A1 team are now 2nd with one to play Fword are champions.

Our A2 have finished 2nd to Vitesse A1 .

B1 won their league but the B2 ie U 16's will finish either 7th or 8th . Evidently 5 of their team have been
released .

Our A1 team beat Utrecht A1 3-1 in the youth cup semi tonight and now play either PSV or sittard in the final on 5 June.

The long delay is because the Dutch U 19's have some games in May and also end of season tournements.

A sad story from our A2 team 18 year old Tom Portegies the A2 left back has had to give up football due to heart problem . Good luck to the lad . A sad way to end his footy career before it has really began.

Our A1 team finished 3rd in the league in the end with the youth cup final to come v PSV on 5 June .

They are now taking part in the end of season tournements and last week finished only 3rd at the Breukenlen tourny .No details were given except one or 2 Jong Ajax and some A2 and B1 players involved . This was a minor tourny .

This weekend they are playing in the Terborg Tourny, a more important event, and today won 1-0 v Chivas of Mexico . Tomorrow they play de Graafschap and Botofogo . As well as A1 youths they can include 5 over age Jong players .

Ajax A1 have reached the semi final at Terborg . Lost 2-1 to Botofogo, Ozbiliz scored, and drew 0-0 with de Graafschap. Semi v Twente . Botofogo play Keizer Chiefs in other semi .

I read a report on another site from someone who had attended yesterday who was evidently a bit disgusted with the players .He described as being arrogant not signing autographs and pushing small kids out of the way . I have no idea who this guy is and he may have a grudge and making it up but if it is true someone at this club needs to put them in their place . As he said these are kids and young reserves most will probably never get near our first team.
