Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
Five nil. Great cross by Suarez. Not too sure what the Breda goalie was doing though...it certainly wasnt goalkeeping!
Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
Speaking of goalkeeping -- has Steks had to make even one save this game?
Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
Dario again! 6-0
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda

Total respect to our fans for the warm welcome provided to Leonardo... God bless him!

Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
Time to bring on the youngsters I would think.
Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
Pantelic in for Cvitanich

Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
terrifying tackle on pantelic, deserved at least a yellow if not direct red
May the Force be with you
Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
That was penalty. Great performance lovely to watch .Pleased for Cvitanich and Kennedy was good imo.
3 league games in a row where the defence, all from our youth team have not let in a goal. I know they have not been troubled. Second half we had 6 from our academy which was pleasing.

Good win, nice moments. I'm happy.
Pantelic had a goal disallowed for offside, other than that he didn't have much time to show what he's got.
Let's continue our winning streak!

What a great performance...well worth the money for the trip! I was exceptionally pleased with the defence today....mainly because "The Weakeest Link" wasn't even in the squad!
Nice to see Dario grab a hat trick...even though he looked very tired!!
Let's take this performance forward to next week....shhould be a cracker!!!

Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
It could - and perhaps should - have been a bigger score than 'just' 6-0. Not only did we waste at least five or six clear-cut chances; Marko Pantelic should also have been given a penalty. Referee claimed that the ball was played, but I just watched the highlights: 100% penalty, no doubt about it. It wasn't just a penalty, but a pretty brutal foul, too: full on the ankle.
Anyway: I mustn't grumble. I expected this one to be pretty difficult, but it wasn't. Great performance. Great attitude. Great goals. Thoroughly enjoyable game of footie.

It was good indeed. But I think it was VERY important to score in the beginning of the match. When Ajax doesn't score early they have a difficult afternoon most of the time. It's a bit silly if you think about it and it has to do with a mental state ('football is always easier when you are 1-0 ahead') which fascinates me enormously.Kowalczyk schreef:It could - and perhaps should - have been a bigger score than 'just' 6-0. It's also probably easier to defend when you're up by a goal, particularly if you play a possession-style of game like Ajax does.michaelajaxfan schreef:It was good indeed. That was a great game against a poor team, but it makes me think to Ajax - Willem II last season. And I don't like that, if you remember what followed then....

A great game against a worthy opponent. Kennedy was really impressing. Man of the match if you ask me. A nice surprise !
Appie, stay strong !

I don't actually like it when my teams win 6-0 (or similar).

As a fan of a baseball team that can score 22 one game ,then score one for several thereafter, I understand the reluctance to embrace a six goal output . The first twenty minutes of next weeks match at Venlo will certainly be interesting. Especially since it comes on the heels of a european fixture. I do think Ajax will get up for Thursday. European nights are special ,while a fixture at Venlo may be a slog.
To yesterday. I was in Washington, DC . I was able to connect to Ajaxtalk and follow on my cellphone net connection. THANK YOU ALL for your comments. You made my day. What an incredible match !!!!! I stayed up until 2:30 AM this morning to watch the ESPN360 replayand see what you all were so ecstatic about. When Ajax score early and use their possession game to crank up the pressure , it is a joy to watch. I hope to see alot more of the finishing of Cvitanich , the work of Kennedy (his work on the endline pre first goal was very impressive) , the guts of De Zeeuw and Enoh , and more of Ismail Aissati's skill...had he scored we're talking possible goal of the yeart candidate...to complement the always dangerous Captain Fantastic . Only thing missing was a Pantelic debut goal , but he looks dangerous.

Wow! Just got home from a business trip to the Netherlands and thought I'd say from what I heard about the game from some Dutch colleagues (I was driving to Apeldoorn during the match) it sounds like we had a great game, scoreline seems to suggest that too. All good, congrats in order for everyone. Good to see Cvita notch them up.. literally just got home so its time for some Youtube based hoogtepunten.
Hup!
EDIT: just watched the highlights, well done to Dario well taken goals..but special mention must go to Ten Rouwelaar the NAC keeper, I laughed HARD at him during the build up to Kennedy's goal...seriously what a hero :P

Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
Just watched Sundays game today and I have to say excellent. Rouwelaar obviously thinks he's better as an outfield player but the way Luis just led him all the way to the touchline before crossing the ball was just pure class.
Really glad I caught this one, I was busy Sunday so missed it and even non-Ajax supporting mates at work had watched it so I was hoping ESPN would show it yesterday lunchtime as scheduled for me to record and they did.
I do slightly share the worries about next weekend but I won't let that spoil the moment while it lasts.

Re: 13 Sep 2009: Ajax - NAC Breda
I feel about of sympathy for the NAC goalie because his defense just stood there and watched him try to defend the most dangerous player in the eredivisie by himself. He was totally hung out to dry. They should have been joining him in pressuring Suarez, not running away as fast as they could.SE6Ajacied schreef:Just watched Sundays game today and I have to say excellent. It looked to me like he started out thinking he was going to get to the ball first -- then when he saw that he had no chance it was too late to do anything about it. It looked like he even realized that the end result would be inevitable -- which it was. Beautiful setup and cross for the goal.aveslacker schreef:I feel about of sympathy for the NAC goalie because his defense just stood there and watched him try to defend the most dangerous player in the eredivisie by himself. Yeah, he thought "that's my ball!", but it wasn't really... No way he was gonna get there first.
