Re: Players Leaving Ajax
In a couple of years Ajax will no doubt be shelling out a few million to buy back Sarpong or Martina from whichever club they've gone to and made a name for themselves...
... and a couple of years after that tell them they can leave after giving them sporadic playing time and no chance to cement a first team place.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
No, it will happen sooner than that. We'll buy back Robbie Schilder from NAC to fill our left back problem position!Frans schreef:In a couple of years Ajax will no doubt be shelling out a few million to buy back Sarpong or Martina from whichever club they've gone to and made a name for themselves...

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Anyways… if Ajax let go 10 players, this should bring extra cash to hire some experienced defenders.
Appie, stay strong !

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Castillion has just been promoted to the Jong Team even though he is only just 18 . If he scores goals for them expect promotion next season.
Goal.com always does a team of the week for the Dutch league and their left back of the week was
Schilder of course. He wasn't great in that position but like Vertonghen he is really a midfielder.Atouba did not look a defender to me so we do not have a left back .
Ajax need to loan kids out . Martina and Sarpong should have been playing regularly with another team last season and then we would have a better idea of their ability.
I see we want to keep de Jong for this season but how much playing time will he get. Groningen Roda and NEC all want him on loan and he would get a regular game but at present he is not in the final 18 for games at present.
I do not believe you should play kids regularly in the reserves for 2 seasons so Will Supusepa and Danilo ought to be out on loan to see if they can step up . And with 3 goalies plus youth players Bizot and Hahn already in the pre seaon reserve games Sergio Padt should go out to play first team footy( I know he broke abone in his hand but he will fit by the end of this month )
I apologise as I have posted this the other week but is this not basic commonsense for a club who carry
nearly 30 first teamers and 18 reserves( not counting about 16/17 youth team players who have contracts )

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
I guess the names that shock are Gabri, Oleguer and Sarpong. Stupid how we pushed Chelsea away couple years back to keep Sarpong and Goossens, and neither one made the cut. Wtf.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
If we need to sell before we can buy forget it. Kennedy and Ogararu have raised nil interest and Gabri is injured this leaves only Oleguer and Lindgren who could raise any money and I bet Oleguer will be loaned back to some Spanish club with us paying part of his salary. Some of the others will get a loan but we will still be paying part salary. We paid over 2m euros to buy back Lindgren and I would be surprised if we get 1m back.

Inclined to agree but I'm sure he'd have got criticised for selling players without giving them a chance first (something he has demonstrated he is willing to do for better or worse eg Rommedahl) so he probably can't win this one.SPL schreef:

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
It is a tough call and Van Basten was in the same bind last year when he declared an equal number (including some of the same players) as surplus. Problem is that most of these players can't play in the big four leagues (including Germany in that mix) and doubt there is much interest in France which is the only other league where there is money for players. I doubt Jol would have been able to recoup any money had he announced them as surplus back in July. We need to quit buying lots of players only to have them not work out; rely on the youth program with selective purchases. I remember when everyone got excited last summer when we picked up Oleguer and thought he would be the answer to our problems. Same with Wielaert in January. Of course the truth is I don't think we have developed a decent central defender from the youth program since Frank de Boer and you know how long ago that was!SE6Ajacied schreef:Inclined to agree but I'm sure he'd have got criticised for selling players without giving them a chance first (something he has demonstrated he is willing to do for better or worse eg Rommedahl) so he probably can't win this one.SPL schreef:

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
some rumours,if to be believed, suggest that something is moving 'bout the 9-10 players that were told could live...
oleguer could go to espanyol to replace the poor skipper jarque
ogararu could join adrie koster at club brugge
gabri is in spain with ajax permission to recover and, who knows, could be a sign that he'll search for a new club
martina on proof at bari in serie A.
still nothing about sno and lindgren anyway
as far as the possible loanees is concerned: vd heijden attracts groningen, bodul maybe sparta.
still nothing about sarpong and blind.
let's hope

Van der Heijden hasn't yet been loaned . Espanyol are not interested in Oleguer and Clubb Brugge do not want Ogararu so we still have 32 first teamers and no sign we will sell anyone. By this time next week we may have loaned a couple out. Do not see us selling anyone.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
yes, every option has fallen down. unbelievable. plus bodul does not seem enthusiastic in joining haarlem on loan. I can comprehend him.
I agree with spl, we will loan some players (the youngsters) but selling ogararu, sno, lindgren and oleguer seems out of discussion unfortunately. maybe we'll loan them too..but we'll never reach the number of 24-25 players that every coach needs to have to work well.
and you know what it means? no sales, no new striker. and maybe also no new defender..

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
I think it is very depressing we cannot even get any kids out on loan to a good club.No one wants Bodul so Haarlem is offered and the bottom team RKC are the only eredivisie side who actually want someone but he may not go. Still Monday evening when the Jong play their first competitve game they will have about 30 players to chose from.( mind with both reserve left backs injured they wont actually have a left back but then nor has the first team )
Re: Players Leaving Ajax
For better or worse, the buyers have all the power right now. Look at the lowball offer Madrid had to accept for KJH. I still haven't seen a finalization of the Inter deal with Sneijder and nobody apparently wants Van Der Vaart at present. Clubs are concerned about the finances and teams who have a lot of surplus talent like Madrid and on a much lesser scale Ajax are being held hostage by potential buyers who know they don't have to pay the actual sales value. The only team with apparent money to spend is Man City but they are not interested in any of our surplus players. Two options exist; keep them on roster and hope that some team has injury problems in January and we make some money or second, just cut them loose and eat the salary. Nether one is particularly appetizing.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
Ajax Striker Dario Cvitanich Could Return To Argentina
The quick forward could be on his way back to Argentina...
Dario Cvitanich left the Argentinean league in the summer of 2008 to try his luck in Europe at Dutch side Ajax, but the 25-year-old could be on his way back home again after just one year.
Cvitanich scored nine goals in eighteen league appearances last term, but was plagued by various injuries toward the end of the season, losing his spot in the starting XI as a result.
The attacker doesn't look like breaking into the first eleven again under new head coach Martin Jol and this hasn't gone unnoticed in Argentina.
Cvitanich was already being linked with a move to River Plate earlier this summer and now again a report has emerged that indicates that the striker could be on the verge of returning to the South American country.
Dutch football weekly VI claims that both River Plate and San Lorenzo have included Cvitanich on their respective squad lists they had to submit to the Argentinean FA for the upcoming Apertura season.
Ajax are reportedly ready to let go of the striker if a good offer comes in, as Jol is keen to add a new striker to his squad before the end of the summer transfer window.

If I translated correctly Suarez said he wasn't ready for a move yet but that might have been Jol saying that (for what it's worth anyway)Manneken Pis schreef:On some of the (unreliable) transfer rumour sites Suarez's name is starting to appear.

Re: Players Leaving Ajax
A bid of 30m plus would see Ajax sell him this week but who would pay that?
Man City they have about 10 forwards and a small club not in Europe.
MAN u and Chelsea could afford him but it is unlikely .
Inter possible but no vacancies at striker.
AC Milan Haven't got that sort of cash at present
Real NO
Finally Barca but they have no vacancies in their forwards and not sure they have that spare cash having bought Zlatan.
