were you there Ko ?? Really good they won the trophy. I know I go on at times when some of the older players turn out but Blind Alderweireld and Bodul have all come through from the reserves this season and I would expect Padt to be our 3rd choice goalie next season so that is 4 players promoted from reserves to the first team from this season which is a good return.Danilo and Claasen have played regularly and are still eligible for the A1 youth team .In addition several of our A1 youths have been given games.

Jong Ajax played Liverpool reserves tonight in a benefit game for Right to Play.Ajax won 1-0 and the game was on sopcast . I had been at cricket all day so only watched the last 35 mins ,the goal came from a shot by Danilo on the wide right but it took a deflection off a Liverpool player so I think it was an OG.

NB Koppers is an A2 player and just released and Ottenhoof is another A2 player but is under contract.

From what I saw Sno and Manucharyan did not look interested and our best player was Blind , who looked very good to me. We did not create many chances in those last 35 mins but then again apart from Manucharyan the others are not out and out forwards.

If I had planned my day better I would have come home earlier and watched the wholegame but doubt the wife would have been impressed as I am off to cricket tomorrow and Sunday !( was going to watch the Twente game but I wont now as it is meaningless and I cannot face another 90 mins after last Sunday)

Finishing my trivia on our younger players Haarlem are signing 2 of our reserves Calvin Mac Intosh and Jordi Schell( he was reported to be going to NEC) Good luck to them.

Although we won the reserve league there has been a good clear out of this years squad.About 8 of them who started the season have now gone.

With the youth season just over the squads for all the teams plus Reserves are now listed (Ajaxshowtime is the best as they show nationality, dob, and position which the official site does not.)

For our reserves I am surprised that Rodney Sneijder is not included also Jozefzoon and Van Rhijn are excluded, these 3 played regularly for the A1 last season and are listed for another season in the A1.
The reserves have no rightwinger(Jozefzoon's position) one real central defender(Van Meulen) V Rhijn partnered him last season. Candan is a midfielder also Ozbiliz but Sneijder was picked ahead of these 2 every game . The squad has plenty of midfielders and full backs though.

Castillion and Bonevacia are in the Reserves even though they have 1 more year of youth footy.

NB Manucharyan still listed and Jordi Schell has not yet joined Haarlem.

The reserves are playing friendlies and after a mid week 0-0 draw with Jong Sparta they lost 4-3 yesterday to AGOVV first team with Manucharyan scoring 2 ! Castillion the other. Not really surprised they let in so many goals as they only played with 1 real defender Aslan, Blind played 45 mins and the other defenders were all midfielders.So it is not just at 1st team we are overloaded with MF . Our reserves must have some injuries as Aslan ws the only defender v Sparta. He missed all last season with injury so good he is fit but 5 reserve defenders all missed the above 2 games Will Kappelhof Vd Meulen Supusepa and Shakison.

Is there a fixture list anywhere SPL? Will be in Amsterdam from Tuesday to Saturday next week and wouldn't mind seeing a game.

I will get VI to see who else is playing elsewhere, found out about NEC v Espanyol on the day of the game that way this time last year, hoping to see at least one game, disappointed that the Hoofdklasse season doesn't seem to start til September so I doubt there will be any games to see with the other Amsterdam teams just yet.

I see Jong Ajax beat Jong Club Brugge 5-0 in a tourny at Hilversum but due to the fact that we still have 32 first team squad it was really a runout for those Ajax first teamers not in the RKC squad. Ogararu,
Oleguer,Blind, Anita, Vd Heijden, Martina and Sarpong all played a full game. They play AZ jong today in the final and evidently Kennedy Sno and Lindgren will play.Obviously a good workout for the above but we cannot go into the season with all these spare players. We currently have 18 proper reserves and only 6 of them played yesterday of whom 2 only came on as sub.

So yesterday in Hilversum our Jong team lost 3-1 to Jong AZ. Only Kennedy and Lindgren of our seniors played with Bodul and Zeegelaar the other first teamers in action. So to answer my post of the last game we play 11 proper reserves and lose! The youngsters still need to play though as they are not going to get anywhere sitting on the bench or in the stands.

1st competitive game tonight at AZ . We have about 30 players to pick from ie the 18 official reserves , although both left backs have been injured, plus about 12 first teamers who are not wanted.

The defeat is even worse considering who was playing. With so few of our first team fringe players likely to leave I reckon half the 18 proper reserves (5 of whom played!!) may as well go off and play at Haarlem as they wont get much playing time here.

The transfer of Brazilian talent Zé Eduardo has also been confirmed. He's 18, joins us on loan and will be added to the Young Ajax squad. For that reason: no thread of his own (yet). He is (for now) a Young Ajax signing.

I read Jordi Schell young midfielder has cancelled his contract, which runs to 2010. He nearly joined Haarlem in the summer but has obviously realised that he is never going to get many chances with the reserves.

As this is Jong Ajax I will make my usual comment Oleguer Ogararu Lindgren Pantelic Vermeer ought not to be playing in a Cup game( I accept they can play in league games) .This is a cup game for Jong Ajax. Oleguer Pantelic and Vermeer will all play in the first team Cup game surely.

Blind Martina Zeegelaar and Sarpong are all acceptable as they are more likely to be playing for the Jong Ajax this season.

Of the official 15 listed Jong players 9 are in the squad but Ozbiliz Supusepa Shakison have all been injured since pre season and Claasen is with SA u20's in the U 20 WC . Castillion and Bizot are left out.Castillion is playing both Jong and A1 youth this season but Bizot is missing out. He is still eligible
for the youth but is not playing at that level any more and is Padt's understudy for the Jong. He should be sitting on the bench tonight.
