40m and Eto? Can't see that happening. It would be more stupid, than Sneider + Robben + 17m for Riberry.Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:He aint going alone...reports state that "The Zlatan" is also joining the catalan club...the price ? 40 million euro plus Eto´o and the rights to loan Hleb...quite a steep price if you ask me, but i would love to see Zlatan score some goals against the white buggers (madrid)
Re: Former Ajax Players
From Toni Bruins Slot on the FCB official site :
Toni Bruins: “Barça have made a great signing”Jesús Carrillo
Toni Bruins, who assisted Johan Cruyff at Barça and was then assistant manager at Ajax to Ronald Koeman says he delighted that FC Barcelona have signed Maxwell, who he worked with at the Dutch club.
Speaking to www.fcbarcelona.cat, Toni Bruins Slot said “I congratulate everybody at Barça that was involved in the Maxwell deal. It was a good move because he’s the ideal kind of player for Barça and Josep Guardiola”.
“He will adapt quickly”
Toni Bruins believes Maxwell “has all the right things to play for the best team in the world, which without a doubt is Barça right now. With Ronald Koeman at Ajax we discovered him for European football. He is very intuitive, very attack-minded, he plays well for the team and can play the ball well.”
Bruins also said that when Maxwell was at Ajax, “he showed us what he could do from the first day. He covers and extraordinary amount of ground, playing all along his wing, switching in seconds from full back to winger. And his crosses are excellent.”
“It’s the ideal moment”
Toni Bruins added that Maxwell “came to Holland as a left winger”, but he and Ronald Koeman decided that in European football, he would fit in better as a left back.
If he were to play in a more attacking than defensive role, he might have struggled in Dutch football. “But this changed one hundred per cent when he started playing in such a peculiarly defensive league as the Italian one”, commented Bruins Slot. Cruyff’s former assistant added that, “he has become a more complete player at Inter, and so I think this is the ideal moment for him to make this move to Barça”.
Practical and resolute
The Dutchman then observed that Maxwell “masters football like few others, and learned the kind of philosophy promoted by Cruyff and practiced by Koeman. He will adapt perfectly to the passing, positional and attacking game that Barça play under Guardiola”.
Best player in Holland in 2002 Toni Bruins Slot is proud to say that in 2002 Maxwell was named player of the year in the Eridivisie. “Managers like him because he loses the ball so rarely. He never makes things complicated for himself, and he plays the ball around really well … and as a person I’d give him ten out of ten. Both him and his family are extraordinary people.”

Maxwell and potentially Zlatan ... the Ajax - Barca connection continues. Following some of my Ajax favorites was one big reason I became a Barca fan and , much later, a Socio.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Stuttgart say they have given up on Huntelaar after a deadline passed and Huntelaar and Madrid hadn't come to terms about his exit. I think that would have been one of his best options.
The remaining interested clubs seem to be Spurs and Arsenal. With Adebayor gone, I think he would be a better fit at Arsenal and hope he ends up there. Redknapp has confirmed that Huntelaar is the striker he wants. I would imagine Spurs will be more willing to compensate financially. With either one, I'm interested to see how he fits in England.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Stuttgart wer offering him alot less than RM and he wanted the difference. Spurs would certainly pay more money than Arsenal . I hope he goes to Arsenal as they are a big club. I do not think KJH would have left us for Stuttgart or Spurs.
RM are not going to make much money out of his sale . 7m euros to us and as they are paying him 70000 euros a week or more and want him to go they will have to pay him a large lump sum as no one will pay him that , unless he becomes Man City's 8th striker!!! I think 4m euros was quoted if he had joined Stuttgart .

Re: Former Ajax Players
Huntelaar on loan would be great for us, but I imagine he wants to move elsewhere rather than come back here now. I just read an article saying Arsenal are willing to put up the cash for him now. Spurs have had their bid for Crouch accepted, so I don't see him going there now. I've said before I think Arsenal is the best fit, but I don't know if they'll meet his wage demands (which are in the area of Van Persie's), which Spurs didn't want to either. I'd rather need see the worst case, that he stays at Madrid all season and doesn't play.

According to this article on ESPN Soccernet, Spurs are still interested in KJH if Darren Bent departs, even though they now have Peter ("He's big, he's bad, he dances like my dad") Crouch.gordonvandekamp schreef:Spurs have had their bid for Crouch accepted, so I don't see him going there now.

Re: Former Ajax Players
So Huntelaar's transfer to Milan appears to be for 15M, and 7M of that will go to Ajax. Kind of nice to see Madrid only get about half of it with the way they've been spending.
Ajax, you've got 7M, please buy a central defender.
There were also some articles today mentioning Ajax was keeping the door open for the return of ex-players (namely Huntelaar, Babel, van der Vaart), so they could get regular action and stay a part of Oranje before the world cup. Didn't sound very likely, just that Ajax didn't want to rule out that possibility should it arise. I've said it before, but I can't see any of those players back here anytime soon.

Bad news for Edwin van der Sar.
And for Man U.
I guess we'll find out if Ben Foster is really all that?

Ben Foster is from my town and his parents still live only 4 streets down from me (literally a 5 minute walk). I've seen him about and he seems a very down to earth lad, so even if it is United scum, I would like to see him do well.mako schreef:Bad news for Edwin van der Sar.And for Man U.

Yeah, actually, now that Crissie Ronaldo's gone, I'm gonna have a hard time working up quite the same level of hatred for Man U. They should be giving us 7 million Euros if he is sold this transfer window. That should allow us to buy another good player.
Re: Former Ajax Players
Good move for KJH im glad for him. I think playing a good club in Italy was the best move for him all along. I believe he'll really show his talents now. Plus, 7 million euros for us...Go buy a defender!

Re: Former Ajax Players
Yes good luck to the Hunter. Just hope Wesley and Raffie get out of that mob soon. KJH was treated like shit by them.
Re: Former Ajax Players
The papers here in Barcelona reported yesterday that Van Der Vaart has requested a transfer as he was told he was not in the plans for this season. Sneijder has indicated he wants to stay and fight for a position but that was before Alonso came in. I suspect he will want out. Ruud is still training with the reserves (at least that was what El Pais said) getting back into shape. That leaves only Drenthe and I don´t know what he wants.SPL schreef:Yes good luck to the Hunter. Just hope Wesley and Raffie get out of that mob soon. KJH was treated like shit by them.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Drenthe appears to be the only one who is still a part of Madrid's plans. He's seen quite a bit of action so far in the pre-season. It seems like he'll be sticking around. Sort of surprising that out of all of them, he's going to be the one.
It seems Ruud is too, although I don't know how much seeing as he's coming back from injury.
I think most of us have been saying it all along, but Sneijder and van der Vaart need to get out as soon as they can.
