According to De Telegraaf not FC Twente but NEC have landed John Goossens. He will pen a four year contract in Nijmegen. That's quite surprising... Looks like Twente let him slip through their fingers.

No final day sales or loans but Roma wanted Silva and Utrecht wanted Sno, both on loan.

We may be short on forwards but we are overloaded with midfielders. With Aissati and Van der Heijden both nearly fit that makes about 11 midfielders and that does not incude Schilder and Vertonghen who are both orignally defensive midfielders .

We will have to let some go in the summer as I predict youngsters Sneijder and Danilo will be promoted to the first team squad next season.

We asked 3.7m euros for Silva and Roma said no.I see him joining Gentenaar and Kennedy on the sidelines, not getting picked as a sub and unless we get loads of injuries just wasting everyones time waiting to be let go in the summer.

Not his fault of course but we cannot go into next year with senior players not even wanted as subs .

Leonardo is reporterd to say that "only his signature in lacking" for his transfer to Panathinaikos next summer. too bad letting him go as he can be a useful sub, and too bad to have in the squad a player that does not believe in this project anymore.

with him going as a free agent, rommedahl gone, martina and bakircioglu out of grace, ajax does not have right wingers for the coming future.

I still think that letting both De Ridder and de Mul go abroad has been a big mistake and was the start of this problem. I am really pissed off by this one.

MVB's grand strategy is to use the Huntelaar money and swoop in for Lionel Messi this summer. Should solve all of our problems I figure. :drecul.gif:

Hmm, I think this is the only Mr Messi that we are likely to sign

The style of play could certainly beat some of the current lot :1evil.gif:

I agree that both De Ridder and De Mul hadn't prove the choice of the club was wrong, but hey: the bad choice was firstly their fault, cause (like maduro) they have not been patient to grow up in the dutch league and prove themselves in the eredivisie.

De Ridder never wanted to move. Blind forced him out.

I guess we can now add Huntelaar and van der Vaart to this list as well. Apparently in announcing the Oranje team for the Tunisia friendly, van Marwijk expressed concern about both players and that they were not seeing much first team action at Oranje Madrid. I felt all along that this was the wrong club for both players and unfortunately it is looking that I might be right.

I have always felt that they should've gone to a club like Arsenal, a big team that needs strengthening

Surprise of the year (not). Stekelenburg has told Sportweek magazine in Holland that he is "definitely interested in moving abroad at the moment".

I think most of us thought he'd be off in the summer anyway so not much of a story but you can read all about it here.

I'm not normally sure about stuff on Goal.com but seeing as this is quoting from a magazine interview I think we can assume it's accurate.

Donavan Slijngard , on loan at Sparta, is not being given a new contract and is being released. No surprise.

We will be seeing a clear out of players this summer. Leo, Schilder Gentenaar and Martina all out of contract will go and Sno and Kennedy are also likely to be surplus. Add Silva and Steks who will not want to stay and be bench warmers thats 8 out of 29 first teamers just about certain to go.

The list could see Van der Heijden and Donald, both injured for nearly all this season, being loaned out and possibly Sarpong going out on loan to get regular games.

All our loan players will go, Slijngard out of contract plus Ogararu, Rommendahl and Luque, all with contracts to 2010 will be moved on .

Hopefully we can keep Suarez and Vermaelen for another season .

My last post listed about 8 who will go plus 2/3 on loan but I would now expect to see Suarez and even Urby go and Oleguer and Wielaert should be sold they are slow and not good enough. We seem to have a lot of midfielders and even they need pruning out. It is very lightweight. As for the attack, without Suarez we do not have one and need to rebuild .

Who would I keep
Vermeer ( Steks sadly will go)
VdWiel, Vermaelen Vertonghen Alderweireld( Silva will go and Oleguer and Wielaert should go)
Aissati, de Jong Enoh Blind possibly Lindgren ( Sarpong to be loaned Anita is too lightweight and Gabri injury prone)
Sulejmani, possibly Cvitanich ,Suarez would be no 1 to keep( Urby no real opinion no real loss)

From the reserves Padt and Bodul will be in the squad. So thats no more than 15 !!

PS That is not me over reacting but overall on the season having only missed seeing about 5/6 games on the internet

will wait for Mr Holte's response but think Vermaelen will want to go to a team who will play in the CL.
