Re: Young Ajax
Ajax, along with all Dutch pro clubs , have to decide by tomorrow whether to renew contracts of those who run out this summer.
The reserves are likely to continue clearing out , with Goossens, Lewis and Jongebloet already leaving in January.
There are now only 13 official listed reserves( Martina a regular is officially a first teamer)Of these, 3 are up for contracts with Ouwerkerk, a goalie with 1 appearance likely to go with Hasselbaink , who has had 2 years and not a regular. Mac Intosh does not have a contract due to being injured all last season and may be given a 1 year deal.
I have just seen that Jordi Schell is being released to join NEC in the summer( his contract goes to 2010)
and I will be surprised if Lazic( also 2010 contract) does not leave as he too has not played much and both are now 20.
Manucharyan is 1 of the 13 and even though his contract runs to 2011 Ajax should pay him off.
That leaves only 7 imo to stay. Padt, Sousa Campos and Claasen have all played regularly and are still able to play for our youth team. Bodul is nearly a 1 st team squad player and Will and Supusepa have both played a lot in what is their 1st year. The 7th name Aslan , has missed the whole season due to injury and has a year left.
The reason we need this clear out is that the club have a lot of U18's coming through with 11 under contract this season. Castillion Sneijder and possibly Van Rhijn, Josefzoon and Burnet, all regular A1 players likely to get reserve action next season along with the 5 U19's recently contracted together with Bizot the goalie who is nearly 18 and still not contracted!!!!!
The reserve team are doing well this season but a lot of first team squad players are playing . If a kid is now 20 and not played much in his 1st year as a reserve he is not going to make a first team player thus imo the above named have to go.
ps.
I would also just add that we do have talent at U18 with several in the Dutch u18 team but in the current Dutch U19 squad this week we only have Daley Blind with Padt and Sneijder reserves. Thus none of the 5 lads recently contracted(Kappelhof,Overtoom,Zeegelaar,Van der Meulen and Ozbiliz) are in the best 22 Dutch kids u19!!

From the Dutch Young Ajax topic...Kowalczyk schreef:I'm shit at maths and (more importantly) I don't know the schedule and the exact standings, but can Young Ajax actually clinch the title on Monday...?
Translation: four games left to play, seven points clear, so if Ajax win and Feyenoord lose, Ajax grab the championship.Benji schreef:1. Jong Ajax 22-46 (57-27)
2. Jong Feyenoord 22-39 (48-33)
Nog 4 wedstrijden te gaan, 7 punten voorsprong. Als Feyenoord verliest en Ajax wint, is Ajax kampioen.
Cool. I'll be there on Monday evening. Sure thing.

Re: Young Ajax
In the second half and still 0-0. Gabri has evidently ghone off injured.
Team contains nearly all 1st teamers which is not surprising with only Donald not fit.
Padt
Silva, Lindgren, Alderweireld(46 Van der Heijden),Schilder
Vertonghen, Blind, Gabri(37 de Jong)
Martina, Cvitanich( 46 Bodul) , Sarpong
For the record the unused subs are Ouwerkerk, Will Claasen and Danilo Sousa Campos.

Re: Young Ajax
Bodul and de Jong have scored 2-0 with about 20 mins to go . Fword are 1-0 up
Re: Young Ajax
We won 2-0 and Fword drew 1-1 with RKC.
Ajax now 49 points from 23 ( 59-27)
Fword 40 ponts from 23 ( 49-34)
With 3 games each to play we need 1 point max.

Re: Young Ajax
Just returned from De Toekomst.
Very boring first half. Extremely tepid. Seven or eight first teamers in the line-up and I had the feeling that a real Young Ajax team would have played better.
Second half was better. Martina missed two absolute sitters; Bodul and Siem de Jong scored truly fantastic goals. The goals were a lot better than the match.
A point in Eindhoven will do!

Re: Young Ajax
Hi Ko interesting point regards a real Young Ajax would have played better. Obviously with so many players now fit we are going to see more 1st teamers in the remaining 3 games but I do think the 3 unused subs Will, Claasen and Danilo should all play. They along with Bodul are the main youngsters who have played regularly and are not learning anything being subs. Claasen and Danilo are both eligible to play for the A1 still so they will probably have to play some youth footy in the next week or 2. Silva and Schilder meanwhile have nil future here and keep them out.
Re: Young Ajax
Would appear tonights game v Jong PSV is postponed.Don't know reason. Fword won so we are now 6 points clear of them with 3 to play they have 2 left.

Re: Young Ajax
Match was postponed just before the weekend. I didn't read the reason officially, but it's got to do with the number of Ajax fans expected to come to Eindhoven for Young Ajax's championship game.SPL schreef:Would appear tonights game v Jong PSV is postponed.Don't know reason.
Yup. F-word won, which is (in this case) a good thing. If they had dropped points, Young Ajax would have clinched the title without playing, which is always a bit of a bummer. Now they can finish the job themselves, by grabbing one point against Vitesse at De Toekomst, next Monday!Fword won so we are now 6 points clear of them with 3 to play they have 2 left.

Re: Young Ajax
Roy Ouwerkerk, a young goalie who has barely featured plus Marvin Hasselbaink are not getting new contracts and are being released.Neither is a surprise.
