The league fixture in between the two Olympique Marseille games.
Should be an easy win, though...

SHOULD be....but with the Marseilles games coming up.....just a win and NO injuries will suffice!
Come on Ajax......forget last week's shit...this is a NEW week..a NEW match... ANOTHER win!!!

34 will always be with us
Re: 15 Mar 2009: Ajax - De Graafschap
I dunno about these "easy win" games. Against these "easy win" teams we Invariably show up thinking all we have to do is walk out on the field and the game is won. Invariably these "inferior" teams outwork us and give us a tough time. I forget which of the managers said it, but it sums the situation up exactly -- Superior talent only counts when you work as hard as the other team. We have to be prepared to outwork them -- if we do that it will be an "easy win" -- otherwise we could wind up losing points in a game we should have "easily" won.Kowalczyk schreef:...Should be an easy win, though...

Um a lot of people have probably said that but the one that sticks out for me is Hull City manager Phil Brown (total legend). He said it about my other team Spurs...We promptly beat them. Though in true Spurs and Ajax fashion nearly made a hash of it.rjf1 schreef:I forget which of the managers said it, but it sums the situation up exactly -- Superior talent only counts when you work as hard as the other team.Kowalczyk schreef:...Should be an easy win, though...
As for today...We thumped them in Doetinchem we are at home today, anything less than utter annihilation will be sorely disappointing. I think perhaps he should give some of the youngsters a chance.
Also i think the keeper he picks for today could be a significant desision. Steks will be pissed if he doesnt play...But i still think; for all his attempts to scare the crap out of me on a regular basis, Vermeer is possibly a better keeper.
Wit-rood-wit zit in ons bloed! We zijn de beste en zo goed. Ik spring me hele leven lang, voor: Ajax Amsterdam!
Re: 15 Mar 2009: Ajax - De Graafschap
Funny you should say that about Spurs -- i'm a fan too. As for Vermeer, Steks may be the better goalkeeper under normal circumstances, but since his injury Vermeer has looked the sharper of the two. He made some fantastic reaction saves in the last two games -- saves that on his current form I don't think Steks would have made.Ajaxfanuk schreef:Um a lot of people have probably said that but the one that sticks out for me is Hull City manager Phil Brown (total legend). I'm using the sopcast stream.
That's odd given that evc free is listed as channel number 70590.
Are you able to see the stream now?
I've sometimes experienced that problem ... but with microsoft xp.rjf1 schreef:No -- for some reason I am not getting the stream. I'm trying to connect in my usual way (Linux system), which has always worked in the past -- but no joy this time. Arrggh!dws schreef:Are you able to see the stream now?
Go to rojadirecta and clink on the link for the sopcast stream and check to see if evc(free) loads.

A decent performance from a clearly tired side. Good that we finally got a goal from the run of play. We can't continue to rely on penalties and set pieces. Thought the two central defenders Oleguer and Wielaert had good matches. Vermaelen made a major mistake in the first half but we got lucky. Team will now need to regroup for Marseille which won't be an easy fixture.
I actually missed the game today as it was a beautiful sunny day and I could not really get away with staying in.The only game I have missed this season was Roda back in september so I cannot complain( when I say miss obviously watching games on a stream is not the same as watching on Tv and does not compare with watching live.)
If we had lost today it would have been a hugh shock. With a proper central striker back we get 3 forwards scoring again.
I hope there were no new injuries today.
