Yes, he's been a classy shot stopper.rjf1 schreef:You may not like the way Vermeer distributes the ball, but in the Fiorentina game and this one he has come up with some really critical saves. IMO he is sharper than Steks (at this point at least.)
Yup totally agree, Steks has not been great since his return. Kenneth was excellent against Fiorentinarjf1 schreef:You may not like the way Vermeer distributes the ball, but in the Fiorentina game and this one he has come up with some really critical saves. Den Haag away. I hope Cvitanich will be fit until then.Ajaxfanuk schreef:Luis no...
Vermeer just pulled off a good double save impressive against Fiorentina and now doing ok today.
So im guessing we'll have Leo, Kennedy and Sulejmani up front next game, who is that against btw? Ooh could stick Urby up there too.
Yes, but Vermaelen was superb in defense today. I remember the days when our outside defenders couldn't stop an old one-legged lady. I'm ok with him hoofing it into space if he keeps shutting opposing players down.Rubin Stark schreef:This team can be frustrating to watch.
Vertonghen for his negative play and Vermaelen for his tendency to kick the ball into no man's land.
Vertonghen played in the middle today, so i think Shilder, Urby, Aissati or Gabri will take his place.rjf1 schreef:Looks like a tendon in the back of the thigh snapped. What rotten luck (for him and Ajax). The defense was finally starting to look like something. I wonder what will happen now.Van basten schreef:Fuck, Vertonghen injured and i think it's gonna be for a month at least..
Agree on Vermailen with Vermeer a close second because of the saves. Vertonghen's injury is really not good for us because of his ability to play on the back line as well as midfield. Wielaert is cup tied and now we are going to scramble for the central defense. It would be a shame if we have to move Vermaelen inside and maybe young Toby Alderwiereld will see some significant playing time.Kowalczyk schreef: The only bad news: Vertonghen. Hamstring injury looked very bad. He will probably out for six weeks at least.
My 'Man of the Match': Thomas Vermaelen. Very tough and absolutely flawless.
