Great goal, eventually lol - Leo managed to hit both posts before it finally went inOrange14 schreef:LEONARDO 1-0

Really happy with the win, but I can't put my hand on my heart and say the team was in control 'for almost the entire game'. In fact I thought they were playing crap mostly - couldn't string three passes together. That is until Leo scored the goal and space opened up...Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:Finally a solid, hard fought victory, the lads were in control for almost the entire game :hupajax.gif: its about damn time they realize they can play better....we would have beaten aston villa if the team had played the same way in england. I think we have our ticket to the second round in the bag....well done.
Best european game since 2003...its been a while....lets keep it up.
Frans I can't agree with you here. Yep, there were parts of the game (maybe 15 to 20min) where Hamburg where in control, but this is expected playing at home.Frans schreef:Really happy with the win, but I can't put my hand on my heart and say the team was in control 'for almost the entire game'. The first 30 minutes were just plain crap, and Kennedy was certainly not the only one who couldn't control the ball or pass it properly (Enoh, Oleguer, Suarez, Sulejmani (hum... no, I didn't see him play), Van der Wiel, etc.).DanK schreef: Frans I can't agree with you here. We did make some bad passes, of which 99% of them came from Kennedy imo. Other than that, we had some great movement and 1 touch passing. van Basten is getting this team heading in the right direction.
Seen this a few times recently on Eurosport - Norway v Holland being most recent, where cam was in opposite stand. Re adverts it is very common for ads from away team country to be round ground esp if game is live in away teams country and not in home country or if away country is richer.SE6Ajacied schreef:
Interesting bit of trivia (well it interested me anyway), Hamburg obviously have two TV positions at the ground, in this case one for German and one for Dutch TV. Leo's goal was scored at the other end from where I saw it last night and the ads around the pitch were Dutch rather than German. Not terribly exciting I know but I haven't seen that anywhere else before.
Agree that he was relentless yesterday. I worry that playing in the middle he takes on a lot of punishment from the opponents. He's been hobbling around a lot following chips at his ankles. We need him to stay out wide. while Sno is not by any means a forward, he does a good job of holding the ball. Would like to see him in on Sunday with Suarez and Sulejmani out wide. We definitely need KJH back in the lineup.jackson schreef:Suarez may be in his own planet, but he fights so hard and is relentless. Love watching that guy play. He's definitely not a central striker in an ajax 4-3-3, but he battled the hell out of much bigger and stronger defenders all nite.
