Holland international striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar could be set for an imminent move to Manchester United from Ajax, according to reports.
The 24-year-old is one of European football's major transfer targets this summer after a prolific three-and-a-half years with the Dutch Eredivisie giants.
Ajax are now ready to sell Huntelaar to the highest bidder after confirming the capture of Serbian starlet Miralem Sulejmani for £12.9million - a record fee between Dutch clubs.
Sulejmani is following in the footsteps of Huntelaar in switching from Heerenveen, and in turn Huntelaar is keen to emulate the career of Ruud van Nistelrooy, who made a successful switch from his native Holland to United in 2001.
Van Nistelrooy went on to score 150 goals in fewer than 200 starts during his Old Trafford career, and Huntelaar's pedigree suggests he could make the same impact in the Premier League.
United are yet to make a major summer signing and are now expected to move quickly in an attempt to secure Huntelaar for a fee of around £20million.
Laat ik dan ook maar meteen hier mijn mening over geven.
Ik ben bang dat bijtekenen er niet inzit.....toch heb ik liever dat hij nog een jaar blijft dan nu voor de 'volle mep' te verkopen. Een kampioenschap (+CL) en je hebt het verschil in de transfersom dik vet terug verdient......
Trouwens.....al die poen boeit me eigenlijk niet veel...ik wil gewoon weer eens kampioen worden....!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eens, maar zo werkt dat vandaag de dag niet meer.Spelers hebben een grote vinger in de pap wat betreft het wel of niet blijven bij een club als AJAX.En AJAX kan geen nee zeggen tegen zoveel geld.Dat zag b.v. ook bij Sneijder.Die had misschien het vorig seizoen het verschil kunnen maken, maar tegen zo'n bod kan je geen nee zeggen ....

bedoel je daarmee dat mocht het zo zijn dat KJH (of een andere speler) niet perse weg wil uit amsterdam maar er wel een bod van 20+ komt we hem toch moeten verkopen omdat we dat geld niet kunnen laten schieten....er vanuit gaande dat de speler in kwestie een belangrijke speler voor het team (kan) zijn??Voetske schreef:En AJAX kan geen nee zeggen tegen zoveel geld..

Tja, ik geloof nooit zo in " ik ( hij ) wil niet perse weg ".KjH heeft te kennen gegeven dat ie weg wil, komt het juiste bod dan is ie weg.Verder was het b.v. bij van de Meijden zo dat ie bij een andere club zat, voordat HIJ er erg in had.En bij Babel twijfel ik ook of dat ie niet nog een jaartje had willen blijven.

ARSENAL are ready to launch an £18million bid for Dutch goal ace Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is lining up the prolific Ajax striker as a replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor — if the £30m-rated Togo hitman is sold to Barcelona.
The double deal would net the Gunners a £12m profit.
But the Frenchman insists that sort of business is essential and will stun every Arsenal fan by admitting: We are now a SELLING club.
The £24m annual mortgage payments on the club’s £360m Emirates Stadium have become such a burden that Wenger admits he must now flog big-name players EVERY season.
Business
He declared: “The strategy of the club is to sell every year and to buy less expensive players.”
And he has warned this official policy could continue for another 17 YEARS!
He added: “We manage at Arsenal to maintain all our football ambitions — national and European —while having to free up - for 17 more years - an annual surplus of £24m to pay for our stadium.
“The club’s strategy is to favour the policy of youngsters ahead of stars and to count on the collective quality of our game.”
Under those guidelines, the Huntelaar-Adebayor swap would make good business sense.
Huntelaar, 24, has a staggering scoring record in club and international football.
He has scored 163 goals in 220 matches in Holland and seven times in 12 appearances for the national team.
He is best pals with Arsenal striker and fellow Dutchman Robin van Persie.
Huntelaar is keen to move to England and Dutch sources claim Van Persie has told his pal how good life is at Arsenal during Euro 2008.
A Dutch insider revealed: “Arsenal are keen on Huntelaar and he has confirmed he would be keen to discuss a move.
“Klaas-Jan is an out and out goalscorer – just the sort Arsenal have needed for many seasons.
“He might not have the silky skills you associate with a Wenger team but he has an amazing knack for putting the ball in the net.”
Adebayor is a £30m target for Spanish giants Barcelona, who are also eyeing Gunners team-mate Alexander Hleb.
Takeover
Last summer Wenger also sold the club’s record goalscorer Thierry Henry to Barcelona, which virtually completed the break-up of the famous Invincibles side.
Wenger’s amazing 'sell' confession completely contradicts Arsenal chief executive Keith Edelman’s promise that the Frenchman would get as much as £70m to spend in this summer’s transfer market.
It also confirms Arsenal can never compete with the likes of Premier League rivals Manchester United and Chelsea in the buying stakes.
It could also open up the way for Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov - backed by former vice-chairman David Dein - to attempt a takeover.
Arsenal moved to their 60,000 all-seater stadium just up the road from their former home at Highbury two years ago.
And Wenger’s comments are even more incredible considering the club’s latest turnover figures smashed the £200m barrier - making Arsenal Britain’s RICHEST club.
In February, Arsenal announced a massive 55 per cent INCREASE in half-year pre-tax profits but, poignantly, accredited this to the £16m sale of Henry to Barcelona.
Arsenal earn £3.1m in match income and pocketed £90.6m in total match income last year.
Their annual financial results to 31 May 2007 showed income soaring 46 per cent to £200.8m - up from £137.2m a year before.
The figures also showed Arsenal’s operating profits before player trading and exceptional items was £51.2m - up from £13.7m the previous year.

Steeds meer verhalen (vooral uit Engeland) dat Huntelaar vertrekt. Ik zou het erg jammer vinden. Behalve zijn kwaliteiten, verliezen we weer een Nederlander in de basis. We hebben vanaf het nieuwe seizoen nog maar 1 Nederlander in de basis (Stekelenburg), denk ik. Of Ajax moet nog met aankopen verrassen (Boulah en/of Ooijer).

Hoe weet je dat? Hij wil al een jaar naar een topclub, eerste spits worden, maar is er nog steeds. Voor zover officieel bekend is, heeft nog geen topclub zich voor hem gemeld.brigade zuid schreef:Yep die is weg binnenkort.. kunnen we voor dat geld mooi 2 goede verdedigers halen.
Ik weet niet of er al een spitsencarrousel op gang gekomen of zijn het alleen nog maar geruchten. ik lees dat Drogba, Svechenko, Ronaldo, Henry, O'Eto, Ronaldinho, Trezequet wegwillen of zoiets, maar volgens mij zitten ze er nog.
Is KJH nu accoord met het niveau net onder de echte top? Wil hij nu wel naar een topclub, maar dan als tweede spits/derde spits in een 4-4-2?
Zo'n ""Tor"" is vreemd, maar werkt wel; ik kan weer inloggen!

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (foto) heeft gezegd dat verschillende Engelse ploegen interesse in hem hebben. Uit het rijtje clubs springt er een team voor hem uit: Manchester United. Huntelaar meldt dat het een ‘droom’ is om bij Manchester te mogen spelen. Onlangs liepen de contractonderhandelingen tussen de spits en Ajax spaak, waardoor Huntelaar lijkt te azen op een vertrek.
‘Ik weet dat verschillende Engelse clubs me volgen, zoals Manchester United, die erg geïnteresseerd in me zijn’ aldus Huntelaar tegenover Sky Sports. ‘Ik houd van clubs met een grote historie, zoals Ajax. Dat hoop ik ook. Maar jij weet ook dat mensen die bij Ajax de dienst uitmaken op wonderbaarlijke wijze besmet raken met het verdedigers-zijn-niet-nodig-virus. Wij hier (met name Cees en ik) roepen jaar in jaar uit om verdedigers, maar die komen nooit. Een jaar geleden bijvoorbeeld: Stam wankeltjes, Grygera weg, Ogararu door de mand gevallen en hoe werd dat opgelost? Door niets te doen.
Met andere woorden, ik ben op dit punt getraumatiseerd. Ik ben NERGENS gerust op tot Ajax minstens twee directe versterkingen voor de verdediging haalt. Dat Blind vindt dat Slijngard, Emanuelson en Vertonghen het op links maar moeten uitzoeken, doet mij het ergste vermoeden.
