Shit what happened to Ultrasuid?? Can someone translate? Babelfish isn't great... .
If indeed it is an end for Ultrasuid, Anyone have an alternative?

Almost all of Ajax' games have been streamed via Sopcast this season. Other streaming softwares either block UK ip addresses or prove to be just plain unreliable.SPL schreef:My son has just installed Sopcast for me but to get Ajax games what other software should I need or will sopcast get most games ???
For links to Ajax matches: http://myp2p.eu
- click on livesports category
- click on the football icon
- navigate down the page to find the link for Ajax v Sparta
Click on the link just prior to kickoff.

SPL, give it a test run tonight with a UEFA cup fixture.SPL schreef:Thanks dws. I have been waiting for my computer expert son to come and sort my sopcast out.
Hopefully I will get the Sparta game .
If you have any problems using sopcast I'm sure someone on this forum, myself included, can help you out.
I have set up sopcast but its not working. On the software advice page it says if you have windows Xp channels will be slow and you should download either
lvllord.de or ultrashare.de. (Ultrashare has a premium down load package
and a basic one. which is better?)
Will these make the difference.
I tried UEFA games last night. Some links said web unavailable others I pressed play by the sopcast live but it just said connecting and nothing hapened.
It may well be I need one of the above links??
I would appreciate any advice!!

SPL,
I'm on a Mac, but my understanding is that Windows XP limits the amount of incoming connections your computer will accept, which limits the speed Sopcast can work at.
The way I fixed it on Windows was by installing another streaming programme, called PPMate (from the MyP2P website). You can then open PPMate and go into options, and increase the number of connections. I can't remember how many you should put in - try 200 or something.
That should speed SopCast up.
Also be aware that sometimes the streams just don't work! If you can't get anything happening on the day just ask for a link in the "Match of the Day" thread for the game that you're trying to watch and someone will usually help you out.
Good luck!

SPL, give Chugger's suggestion a try and if you are still having no success then download and install the earliest version available from http://myp2p.eu (version 1.1.2)
I use version 1.0.1 and have experienced very few problems on a windows xp system.
ps: before installing another version of sopcast you should uninstall the version present on your system.

Chugger is right that XP limits the amount of incoming connections. The programs in those links will basically replace those XP system files with ones that remove the connection limits, in turn generally increasing your connection speed. You shouldn't actually need to install them for Sopcast to work, but it may help.SPL schreef:I have set up sopcast but its not working. I actually installed the lvllord.de package a few weeks ago, and I think it helped to hose up my network connection. Basically I would lose connectivity when doing big downloads and I'd have to disable/enable the network adapter to get it to come back. Problem went away when I uninstalled it. I have used that package before and didn't have problems, so it may have been an issue with that computer more than the software. I would suggest trying either package if you still can't get Sopcast to work.
I'm not sure the ppmate trick will work, as I thought those settings were for ppmate only, and not for the xp system files. I haven't used ppmate much, so it may indeed change it. It's worth a try and also gives you another streaming option, so it probably wouldn't hurt to install.
Yeah, the main issue is probably that streams don't always work. Some of the channels listed in Sopcast, or on myp2p.eu, are only streaming for the live broadcast (and typically a little bit before and after), but it's also not uncommon to have them not work during the event, at least not all of the time. I have also found that sometimes you need to load the video in another player (other than Windows Media Player, such as VLC) to actually see it.
Other than that, I would ensure you have the latest Windows Media Player and updates installed from Windows Update and then try it again.

I don't know if you'll be trying today, but here's the link to the myp2p.eu page for today's Ajax-Sparta game, there should be a few streams to try.
Thanks for your advice. I was able to speak to my son and he has set up Sopcasts again and I have tried the 2 channels shown and got them working. Will wait and see if they are working when the game starts.
My son was getting the same on his computer so my sopcast must now be working.
Thanks again .

Hving finally got sopcast and myp2p I have got avirus this weekend(haven't used sopcast for a week)
The virus was a trojanhorse and listed sopcast!! Ihave AVG and this found the virus and disposed of it. My computer expert tells me that going on to myp2p is the problem and I could pick up worse viruses from it as it is an illegal site.He has had problems with this site and viruses.
Any advice from you who have been using it alot?

I used that sopcast/myp2p once to see a champions league match, and imediately my computer picked up strange 'startpages' and search engines.SPL schreef:Hving finally got sopcast and myp2p I have got avirus this weekend(haven't used sopcast for a week)

Any advice? Don't use it... or use at least 3 spamkillers/adwarekillers and virusscanners.

I would suggest using a browser like Mozilla Firefox if you aren't already, that alone cuts down on a lot of pop-ups/infections/malware and the like as much of that malicious stuff only runs in IE, so you're most vulnerable when using Internet Explorer. You can get Firefox free at www.getfirefox.com
That would be my suggestion as it's the easiest and quickest to tryout and you should hopefully find out the results immediately.

Yep. Firefox is BY FAR the best internet browser available.
Use this in conjunction with the no-script plug-in and you should be fine *
You may find that myp2p isnt actually the problem, but a script that is 'piggy-backing' off the site. 'no-script' will let you just allow myp2p to run on its own.
* however i am not taking the blame if you use it and get spyware etc

I think it is a little plug-in (software addition, free to download) to prevent scripts from running unwantedly. Like a pop-up blocker, but then for other sorts of scripts.SPL schreef:Thanks for the advice. I will have a word with my computer mate and probably set up Firefox.

What is a no script plug in ??? Sorry for my ignorance!!!

Really the best advise is if you think a site is a bit on the dodgy side. Don't use it. Simple rule of the internet, if you are not sure don't do it.SPL schreef:Thanks for the advice. I will have a word with my computer mate and probably set up Firefox.

But to answer your question. GangstaRiB is correct. It is basically a plug-in or an additional (small) app that runs in Firefox. There are hundreds of add-ons for Firefox actually. Its probably one of its main benefits over something as horrible as Internet Explorer.
To get these plug-ins to work, after installing Firefox, there should be an option under 'tools' > 'add-ons'. From here there should be some option to check for more, or search for or 'get more' add-ons (sorry I am using a mac and a new beta version of firefox so it maybe a little different).
Or just install Firefox and goto this site:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox
This option should bring you to the Mozilla.com site (which hosts Firefox). Search for the no-script plug-in and install it, restart Firefox..then you are set.
What will happen is that for each site you visit, you will have a little 's' icon on the bottom right of the page. If you click on this you can see which domain is (trying) to get access. For some sites there can be up to 10 or so scripts running, some of these you will need for the site to work correctly others not. If you know a site is OK, eg: google.com - just click on the 's' and allow access, if you are not sure of the others don't allow them etc.
Probably shouldn't go into too much detail on this forum, but send me a PM if you have any questions.
For the record I also use Adblock Plus which does a similar thing, but stops annoying adds appearing on the page, or you can block them from appearing in the future. Handy!
Your other option is to stop using Windows altogether, but now I am just being a mac fanboy

BTW
For those with Ned1, Ned2, and Ned3 reception...
NOS has regained the rights to show the Eredivisie highlights on their traditional 7:00pm Sunday night slot. It was somewhat of a tradition in Holland (like "Match of the Day" on Saturday night in England) until De Mol outbid them. It's a five year deal.
