Ajax Coaches

first : De overgang van Henk ten Cate van Ajax naar Chelsea is definitief.
second : 'Alleen allerbeste coach naar Ajax' : that was a good laugh
however, a slightly disturbing idea : if Chelsea, which I believe know a few things about football, hire HTC, it means that they think the current disaster with Ajax is not his fault ... food for thought

the unpleasant thing is that it seems clear that HTC wanted to leave for Chelsea more and earlier than we wanted to get rid of him,
a smart guy :
obviously London was already on his mind and he took advantage of us, glad he's gone
our best option would be van Gaal at the end of the season

Apart from KJH who else from our squad would Chelsea want? Urby possibly but not on current form!!
Chelsea are well aware of what is coming through our system without HTC needing to tell them. They are not going to come and buy De Jong Donald Blind and Danilo Sousa Campos, who appear to be our most promising kids
as they are all under contract and would not get near Chelsea first team.
Back in late 2005 Chelsea tried to sign Sarpong and Goossens before we had given these 2 contracts. Both said no to Chelsea money.
Back on subject Marco seems to be the favourite.

current possibilities according to Dutch media : Adrie Koster (currently training our second team), Marco van Basten en John van 't Schip, both said no, and from our technical staff Hennie Spijkerman/Alfons Groenendijk, and finally the unlikely option with Frank de Boer (currently training our youth team)

It's official now:
Ajax have appointed Adrie Koster as interim head coach of the first team. Alfons Groenendijk and Hennie Spijkerman remain active as assistant coaches.
Adrie Koster has been coach of Young Ajax since the beginning of this season. Koster began his coaching career at FC Eindhoven in 1985, then he worked as head coach for amongst others Willem II, Roda JC, Excelsior, VVV-Venlo and RKC Waalwijk.

Don't know much about him, but pretty much all I want for a coach now is someone who's going to win the Eredivise. I hope he can do that. There will be more options after the season's over and I suspect there will be another change then.K.J. Huntelaar schreef:It's official now:

He reached the semi-finals with Roda once... That was the highlight of his carreer I guess. He makes his teams play football in an attacking style, which is not unimportant at Ajax.
Read somewhere that he assumes to be head coach until the end of the season, but has no problem to step back whenever a new head coach will be signed. His aim is to go become league champions and to win the cup.
I wish him good luck with that! Go Adrie!

Van Basten was seen in the Chelsea owners box recently. My, hopeful, guess is that he convinced them to take HTC so that he can opt for the job at Ajax following this summer.philippe schreef:however, a slightly disturbing idea : if Chelsea, which I believe know a few things about football, hire HTC, it means that they think the current disaster with Ajax is not his fault ... food for thought

Come on Ajax, ignore that rancorous old fart J.C. and bring Co back.LucaS schreef:Adriaanse told the dutch television he wants to be Ajax next coach
We need Louis van Gaal, Co Adriaanse, Foppe de Haan or otherwise a foreigner like Michael Laudrup!
Who gives a f*ck about what J.C. has to say about them?
Great footballer, great coach, great Ajacied, but now it's time to say goodbye.
K.
Still alive...

I have to stop you there. Firstly What major trophy did M.Laudrup win in his short career? Nothing exactly! Secondly as for Co....well he did well for AZ only until the end of the 2nd half of the season, so no thanks to that one. As for Louis Van Gaal, Virtually all managers who go back to their respective clubs, hardly ever repeat the success they enjoyed in their first spell. Here is a list of examples:
1. Hiddink at PSV
2. Cappello at R.Madrid and AC Milan
3. Trappatoni at Juventus
4. B.Robson at PSV
5. Most notably Louis Van Gaal at Barcelona
