Nice article from today's Guardian about Wesley Sneijder.
http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/ ... een_w.html
"What's the difference between Sneijder and Beckham?
One wears the No23 shirt, scores free-kicks, delivers 45-yard assists, is adored by fans and speaks perfect English. The other is David Beckham."

As far as I know Le Mans is not in Normandie
This is a serious rumor by the way. He was supposed to sign yesterday or today and nothing happened yet. But the simple fact to be linked with such a club is obviously not a good sign for him...

"Geef Ajax z'n goede reputatie terug!"
It used to be : La Normandie est un ancien pays d'Europe du nord-ouest de la France qui occupa tout d’abord la basse vallée de la Seine en 911, puis Le Mans et Bayeux en 924, le Cotentin, l’Avranchin et les îles de la Manche en 933.Cedric_AeF schreef:As far as I know Le Mans is not in Normandie![]()
That's why Trabelsi wants to go there. He is misinformed.
Appie, stay strong !

Wez @ Real Madrid
The joke's getting old, but here's the article in its entirety (from The Guardian:Question: What's the difference between Sneijder and Beckham?

Perez
Perez is a great footballer and I miss him as a player, but he can be a real pain in the arse when he spends much time on the bench. He will then develop into a very negative factor and a guy who manipulates team-mates and coaches.
That is the reason why Ajax wanted to get rid of him and it's a potential timebomb at PSV. Even after yesterday's game he had a very telling TV interview. The reporter said something like: "That was a great goal, Kenneth."
He said: "Yeah, thanks a lot, but I do hope I won't spend too much time on the bench."
He will of course score against us - quite obviously...

I've read about Perez being a difficult customer but HTC gave him good reason to be so.

Re: Perez
Funnily enough I heard the exact opposite, that if wasnt for HTC and another of the coaching staff defending him his arse would have been out of the window at Ajax immediately after his little racial incident last year.dws schreef:[

Personally he was an ok player but not half as good as he thought himself to be. If he lost the ball, which was quite often as his passing wasnt anything great, he was not a player to make backward runs to tackle or retrieve the ball unlike Sneijder. And for all the goals he scored, a lot of them were when we were already hammering teams.
A player with ok ability but for all the time I have seen him play not one I will miss much as definitely not a team player, he wasnt there playing for Ajax as far as I am concerned he was there to play for himself.
O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.
Re: Perez
I think that's a rather unfair assessment of Perez's playing ability/worth.jamcocteau schreef:Funnily enough I heard the exact opposite, that if wasnt for HTC and another of the coaching staff defending him his arse would have been out of the window at Ajax immediately after his little racial incident last year.dws schreef:[

Perez was well worth a starting position in many a game last season and not just because he perfomed well when coming on as a sub, but because in many a game his rival(s) for a starting position played poorly. That is why I said he was given good reason to be difficult.
As for our so called Manager ... the less said, the better.

Ricksen .. Perez - you don't like any of my players

Thistle and Ajax ... What a lousy combination

PS: You can have a pie a pint and pigeon shit watching the Rugby in the Jackie Husband stand. Cheers tae the Jags for giving Glasgow a home for this season - pigeon shit and all. :hupajax.gif:
