"If it (the shootings) was happening so often, people wouldn't be so surprised or shocked".
Trust her to wrap it up in such a small comment. So beautiful and so smart...

This was published on the official mlb baseball website tonight by Larry Santana. Is this guy drunk or so? Three big mistakes in such a small article...A pitchers' duel ended when Casey Kotchman's single knocked in Garry Matthews Jr., who doubled to lead off the ninth. Kotchman was hitless prior to the walk-off. Starter Ervin Santana allowed just one run on six in eight frames, but left with a no-decision.
ANAHEIM -- Casey Kotchman swung twice and missed twice. He exited the batter's box and exhaled deeply and wiped his brow. This time would be different. With the score knotted at 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth and a man on, Kotchman lined a roller to right field just beyond the glove of Mark Teixeira, lifting the Angels to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory in the Texas series opener Friday.
After eight superb innings by Kelvim Escobar and a near-flawless ninth by closer Francisco Rodriguez, it was time for the Angels offense to do its part.
Held to an uncharacteristically low six hits, the Angels started the ninth with a leadoff double from Gary Matthews Jr. After a Garret Anderson groundout moved Matthews to third, Kotchman delivered the deciding blow.
Matthews and Vladimir Guerrero paced the offense with two hits each.

Yeah, that was quite amazing but I think the North side of the 38th Parallel are actually better known for that type of thingManneken Pis schreef:This is kinda amazing too:

Shame about the branding/corporate angle, but no doubt they paid for it...
With all due respect to the US team, it seemed that England weren't giving it all (unlike Australia and New Zealand, which left me speechless in front of my TV).aveslacker schreef:I just wanted to give a shout out to the USA rugby team, who played like lions today against England in the world cup. True, but people were predicting that England were going to score 60 points or more. England were flat for sure, but I'm pleased that the pundits got it wrong.carcajou schreef:With all due respect to the US team, it seemed that England weren't giving it all (unlike Australia and New Zealand, which left me speechless in front of my TV).aveslacker schreef:I just wanted to give a shout out to the USA rugby team, who played like lions today against England in the world cup. Amen. Also, I can't help but feel they had too much pressure on the shoulders before the game. The country is in bad shape nowadays and people need our teams to do well in the most popular sports to escape from their dull realities.... And I guess the players are starting to realize just that.philippe schreef:Simple : Laporte, the French coach, is too busy negociating his job as minister of sports in sarkozy's gouvernment.
I see what you mean - the letter thing is a bit over the top and surely demeans a hugely symbolic piece.carcajou schreef:Amen. Poor Môquet, he must be rolling in his grave right now (for all the non-french readers of the boards, he was a communist, read more here).
Well, I'm not going to bite in a big way but I don't think there's that much politics on here at all.Cedric_AeF schreef:I must say I'm a bit bored to read what I would call "political bullshit" on this board...
Laporte using his job as national coach to sell signed shirts for his own benefit : what's has it got to do with politics ?Cedric_AeF schreef:I must say I'm a bit bored to read what I would call "political bullshit" on this board...
