De Telegraaf is saying that "Arsenal Kiev" (wtf???) have officially approached Ajax about buying Davids.

Meanwhile El DesMarque says Real Betis are talking to Maduro.

Starting to see rumours on the web (not the most reliable sources) that Arsenal may make a late bid for Urby.

They can forget it. Seriously: no-one else will be sold.

The Urby story appeared in the gutter press ie The People. Arsenal were probably looking at him along with others and the press decide to run a rumour.

Lindenbergh appears to have turned down NEC. If he does not find a club by Friday he will just be getting paid without any playing time.I doubt the club will even play him in the Jong team.Krohn -Dehli is in the same boat.

For the Jong team as midfielders De Jong, and V d Heijden are playing in every game so far this season, and first teamers Donald, Sarpong, Anita
and Vertonghen are all playing , with Schilder another midfielder who will feature.

Ajax will probably end up paying off Lindenbergh and loan out K-D.

On the same thread with so many midfielders at the club , with another one to come in this week and Davids back in November,I would expect to see one or two of the above named youngsters being loaned out possibly after Xmas.
Sarpong and Anita both played for the Jong team last season and need experience with someone like Heracles or Willem for a year!!

I hope they stay there....I know Sarpong is a bit skillful and Anita has good defensive capabilities. But on a whole they are both featherweights. My main concern is are we going to give chances to the promising players we have in our youth i.e. Jan-Arie Van der Heijden, Siem de Jong and Johnny Goosens. As I understand it their contracts run out in 2008..or am I wrong? Can anyone clarify this please

Sarpong, Anita, and Goossens all extended to 2011 . De Jong to 2010,
VD Heijden to 2009.

Ayman.
Sarpong and Anita imo probably need some first team experience
and will likely get it on loan.Hopefully they will come back to us ready for the first team next season. It is only my thoughts so would be interested to hear what some of you others think.

Yep I agree. I believe Sarpong, Goossens, Anita, and Jan-Arie all have potential to become good players. They should go on loan, I'd like to see some go to De Graafschap, they can use some of our kids :smallgrin.gif:

News of the World. Along with the Sun probably the lowest form of newspaper life not only in Uk but the world. You would only believe the date by checking it with somthing reliable.

Sorry SPL, but the "gutter press" as you choose to call them, are frequently the best-informed of all media when it calls to football in the UK. Almost by definition they are closer to the coaching staff and the players.

Cannot be bothered to find his posting but has Krohn -Dehli dissappeared from the club ?He did not appear to go at the end of August but he has not even made the reserves subs so far.He seems to have gone without trace?

Huntelaar ready to quit Ajax

Just read the sky sports website and he has told the dutch press he is ready to quit ajax at the end of the season.
Huntelaar has been linked with many major European clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal and Real Madrid, but Juventus are understood to be leading the chase and the Italian press have claimed that an agreement is already in place for the forward to move next summer.

I'm sure he'll go this summer, but papers have (falsely) reported that he'd already come to terms with Juve in the past. It seems like there is a Juve rumor every week.

I would not be surprised to see him end up elsewhere.

Just to keep the debates going , now we are out of Europe we have 28 first
teamers and 20 contracted reserves. Come January if our injuries have improved some first team players will need to be unloaded.(Yes Colin and Urzaiz) Will Mitea ever get into our team as a regular! Doubtful.

I would imagine we need to send some players out on loan ie Manucharyan
(if he is ever fit for more than 2 weeks in a row!!!! )
Schilder,Donald, Sarpong and Anita all could do with playing regular first team footy.Reserves like De Jong and Goossens will likely be promoted.

Of lesser imporatance is that we have 20 reserves which is far too many
as some of the young uncontracted A1 team need to play after Christmas. eg.Jordi Schell has been picked for Dutch U 19's

If he is to go during summer he will go after the European Cup I believe in which I expect him to start. And please don't go to the hated Juventus team.

I believe we should start looking for a replacement for him after Christmas. We should get over 25million for KJH
May the Force be with you

I think it is inevitable that Huntelaar will leave Ajax in the January Transfer window, but hopefully we can snap up another Heerenveen striker in Afonso Alves
