Yep ! By the way, what if KJH gets an injury : what replacement ?GangstaRiB schreef: Ajax will buy 2 or 3 players in the coming weeks, otherwise we're seriously fucked.

Yup, in a 4-4-2 formation. There are numerous of options for Ajax this year, regarding the attacking style. We have: Kennedy, Rommedahl, Leonardo, Huntelaar, Urzaiz, Suarez and Mitea/Manucharyan.orange goblin schreef:and also suarez can play central forward if needed. correct?
There's much speed and creativity available.
The defense is also pretty strong, and look out for Van der Wiel! He played outstanding last saturday! Another youth-prospect!
Only concern is the midfield, with the injury of Davids and of course Sneijder....

This is true - and it's very ironic. Last season our midfield was the best line: Gabri, Sneijder and Davids, with Perez as the reserve 'number 10'. That was one high quality midfield. We had it all figured out. Now we have a major problem there. For the time being I would suggest: Gabri and Urby as the two genuine midfielders and Kennedy at '10' (with Rommedahl playing on the right wing).GangstaRiB schreef:Only concern is the midfield, with the injury of Davids and of course Sneijder....
By the way: I totally agree with you as far as the forward line is concerned. Plenty of options there. And plenty of quality.
But the defense...? Yes, Greg van der Wiel is a major talent, but for now I really am worried about the games in which Stam won't be available (9 out of 34 in the league last season; that's more than 25%). A defense with Heitinga and Vermaelen may be good enough against Willem II, but internationally they can't crack it.
Stam is our only defender who is actually feared by strikers. In order to remain upright internationally we will need another giant like him. A nasty, big 'murderer'. Stam and Grygera would have been the ultimate duo in defense. With Heitinga, Vermaelen, Maduro and Van der Wiel as our central defensive options I fear disastrous things like 'Werder away'. Good footballer, but not 'butchers' or 'animals', or whatever word you want to use.

Martin van Geel did a TV interview the other night (Studio Voetbal it was) and he said that Ajax are eyeing two players. And they want to buy both of them. It will be too late for the first Slavia Prague game, but Ajax want to finalize the deals before Tuesday evening, which is the deadline for the return leg against Slavia.
We can expect some more transfer action today or tomorrow.

it seems unlikely that players who would be hired just days before would play the CL return leg, don't you think ?Kowalczyk schreef: but Ajax want to finalize the deals before Tuesday evening, which is the deadline for the return leg against Slavia.

Two weeks seems O.K. (if not exactly ideal).

Too expensive, the rumours say 30 million euro's for him. At the moment there are a lot of names going around on the Internet. Probably not one of them is true, since transfers don't tend to leak from Ajax anymore. Maybe a lucky hit. These are the names mentioned:
- Defour
- Modric
- Riquelme
- Motta
- Prieto
- Engelaar
- Aissati
- Medunjanin
That's about it I guess.

I say we should go for Modric....his price tag should be around 15-18 million euro's.De Dominee schreef:Too expensive, the rumours say 30 million euro's for him.
