from what i understand, babel's replacement will be nilsson, with suarez as second choice
both items have been mentioned on v-bal.nl this week
EDIT: perhaps suarez is now the first choice - van geel says he wants to come, but groningen are putting up the stop sign
absolutely... he was the best keeper in the eredivisie last season, and i don't understand the hatred at all

We need at least 2 wingers, a striker, and a REAL replacement lined up for Sneijder (who I don't want to leave but I am realistic, especially when Real paid 30 million for that Pepe guy, they could have Wesley for half that price, boy they know how to piss away money!).
I think we got a very good sum for Babal, anyone know What we got from Piss-v for Perez? We need to stock up as the Cockroaches my be broke but they have reinforced to make a run at us this season. Get spending Martin!

I'd be a happy chappy if we sign Suarezbluedaddy19 schreef:from what i understand, babel's replacement will be nilsson, with suarez as second choice

Looks like Suarez is starting arbitration to shake off Fc Groningen. I pulled this article in today's Telegraaf through the translator.

I have mixed feelings. Sure, Suarez can be a useful addition but if a club says they don't want to sell shouldn't we respect that?Suárez by means of the law to Ajax
By our Telesportredactie ZEIST - Luis Suárez (20) has put his focus on Ajax. And the attacker is prepared to go far to realize this dream transfer. Because FC Groningen refuses to negotiate with with the Amsterdammers about a transfer sum for the current obligation(till 2009) of the Uruguayan, Suárez's lawyer Jan Kabalt yesterday submitted a petition at the KNVB for emergency arbitration. Suárez asks in this for dissolution of his contract. "as long as the matter is under the judge, I can give no comment", confirms Kabalt the step of the South American. Luis Suárez is very eager to become Ryan Babels, who left for Liverpool, successor in the Amsterdam ArenA, and that is why he goes frontally in the attack against FC groningen. His current employer finds a transfer to Ajax taboo. At Ajax, Suárez can sign a five-year contract and earn three up to four times as much as in the north. Given earlier judgments the chance is big that because of sport-loving and financial position improvement the contract will dissolve against an x-amount, decided the KNVB arbitration committee.

It's a complicated matter, sure if a team does not want to sell that should be respected but it depends on the cause...GRONINGEN`S cause has no point...they dont want to sell just because we are ajax plain and simple....that is dumb and unheard off. Ajax....TABOO?? what the fuck ??Dubbel schreef:Looks like Suarez is starting arbitration to shake off Fc Groningen. I pulled this article in today's Telegraaf through the translator.

BRING IT ON !!!!...
....... and since when did they have this taboo of selling to Ajax?Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:It's a complicated matter, sure if a team does not want to sell that should be respected but it depends on the cause...GRONINGEN`S cause has no point...they dont want to sell just because we are ajax plain and simple....that is dumb and unheard off. Over the years they were happy to sell us players: Ronald Koeman, Marc Verkuyl and Dean Gorre. They have also been happy to sign players from Ajax: Henny Meijer, Rasmus Lindgren, Stefano seedorf, Donovan Slijngard(loan).
Seems a little two faced to say the least.

That does all seem very odd. Is that the 'proper' translation (I see Dubbel put it through an automatic translater and they don't always make the best sense). Or is it that Groningen think we've conned them sometime recently - I can't think of anything.dws schreef:....... and since when did they have this taboo of selling to Ajax?Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:It's a complicated matter, sure if a team does not want to sell that should be respected but it depends on the cause...GRONINGEN`S cause has no point...they dont want to sell just because we are ajax plain and simple....that is dumb and unheard off. Anyway, Suárez is a good player so would be happy to see him in an Ajax shirt....
Forza Haarlem. HFC Gone but not forgotten!
Happy to read the taboo on selling Suarez is not Ajax specific.Dubbel schreef:Yeah, these on-line translators a a bit funny. In the context of the article the taboo wasn't specifically a transfer to Ajax but a transfer in general.
I gather he is a very popular player with the Groningen support .... so no surpise the club are desperate to hold on to him.
I'm not keen on players going to arbitration, so if Ajax do get Suarez I hope that the club pay a fair price for him.
HTC on the Suarez transfer:
TEN CATE DEMANDS GRONINGEN BACK DOWN
Ajax coach Henk ten Cate believes FC Groningen should resign themselves to losing the services of Luis Suarez this summer.
Groningen have turned down several approaches from Ajax for the striker, prompting Suarez to turn to the arbitration board of the KNVB in a bid to resolve the deadlock.
And now Ten Cate has turned up the heat on Groningen, insisting that Ajax's big-club reputation should persuade their Eredivisie rivals to cede to their demands.
Ten Cate told www.highlow.nl: "A big club calls for a player. They offer you a transfer fee and then you lose him. That is the football world.
"That's a fact since we have professional football and then you can hide yourself from the reality, but that has so little use.
"I do understand the Groningen reaction, but it is not realistic. The player wants to go very much and according to me Ajax is at a higher level than Groningen."
Ten Cate also revealed his admiration for the skills of 20-year-old Suarez, who scored 10 goals in his debut Eredivisie campaign last season, adding that he considers the player to be the ideal replacement for Ryan Babel, who last week joined Liverpool.
"I find Suarez and [AZ Alkmaar's Moussa] Dembele the best young strikers in Holland, after Ryan Babel," the 52-year-old continued.
"I see Luis play in the same role that Babel had at Ajax, free from the left side going towards the goal, making use of his speed and quality.
"Suarez is reasonably fast, too, has a good action. And he can score goals."

many reports (but I don't believe them..) claim that we are trying to catch artem milevskiy (F, dinamo kiev) and cesar delgado (RW, cruz azul)..two great players, especially the first one impressed me and at ajax could find his enviroment to develop. but unfortunately I don't think there's something true with this reports.
O tempora o mores
Milevky really impressed me in the former under 21 euro but i didntorange goblin schreef:many reports (but I don't believe them..) claim that we are trying to catch artem milevskiy (F, dinamo kiev) and cesar delgado (RW, cruz azul)..two great players, especially the first one impressed me and at ajax could find his enviroment to develop. but unfortunately I don't think there's something true with this reports.

Milevskiy is belarusian actually. He played for belarusain u-16 team. And there was a conflict between belarusian and ukranian federations. Then some rules about players switching nationalities were changed, and he was allowed to play for ukraine. Belarusian Football federation got something like 2-3 mln euros for him. But anyway he is a very good player. Andit would be great to see him playing for Ajax.

I've not heard of this scenario. Are you saying that the Ukranian National team had to pay a type of transfer fee to the Belorussian Football Association so that he could play for Ukraine instead?paladinby schreef: Belarusian Football federation got something like 2-3 mln euros for him.
That would be quite incredible imo.
