He's had a terrible season, but I must say he's doing quite well for Holland U-21 at the moment... Maybe it's not too late.SPL schreef:Ajax need to make a decision on Maduro very soon. I see Werder Bremen and interested. We seem to have a few defensive midfielders coming through the reserves so I think we may be saying goodbye to Maduro which will be a shame as he has a lot to offer.

Press in the U.K. are reporting that Anelka is now Arsenal's number one target, with Babel/Huntelaar now only seen as a backup in case the Anelka deal falls through.
Reviews of Babel's U-21 tournament performance were mixed in the UK media, I think only Royston Drenthe's reputation has been massively enhanced.

And probably Beerens'.... That kid is the next superstar. The Purple Cow schreef:Press in the U.K. are reporting that Anelka is now Arsenal's number one target, with Babel/Huntelaar now only seen as a backup in case the Anelka deal falls through.

Can't say I even noticed Beerens, what position does he play?
I thought Drenthe was the best player of the tournament by a distance, I also like Otman Bakkal, Ryan Donk and what little I saw of Luigi Bruins was very good.
Worst player of the tournament was Boy Waterman - what a joke. His inclusion ahead of Kevin Vermeer almost cost Nederland the tournament.
Anyway, back on subject...

Ajax's Maduro offered to Lazio
tribalfooball.com - June 25, 2007
Lazio have been offered Ajax midfielder Hedwiges Maduro.
The 22 year-old has just over a year left on his existing Ajax contract and Corriere dello Sport says representatives have invited Lazio to move for the midfielder.
Lazio posted a scout on Saturday to watch Maduro lead Holland to victory over Serbia in the final of the U21 European Championships and will wait for the outcome of talks between the player and Ajax, where it's expected the Dutch club will table a new contract offer.

Since it is Tribal Football, we should consider this highly dubious.Manneken Pis schreef:Ajax's Maduro offered to Lazio

HOWEVER, if Lazio were to table an offer of a few million euros for Maduro, who are we to complain?

Maduro should stay and prove himself but the problem is that Ajax have not given him a contract extension. Surely the ball is in Ajax's court?? If they do not want to extend they should sell him as they cannot afford to let him go next season for nothing. They will get about 4million euros at present.
Cannot believe he would want to go to Lazio!!!!

If Maduro leaves, surely Lindenbergh has to stay... . I know alot of people don't like Olaf but I've never seen anything bad in the way he plays. He does a job and that's all we can expect from him since he was never touted as a star. Same thing goes for the situation with Ryan. If he leaves, surely Kenneth has to stay... We can't just sell both position players like that... .ZoefdeHaas schreef:Lindenbergh may leave Ajax on a free,

Martin van Geel said that they will buy a new left winger, right winger and a pinch hitter at least. So if Colin is founded not good enough for Ajax there also maybe comes another right wing back.ofey schreef:Ooops it seems Perez has joined PSV already... So Babel to go? Who plays left next season then? Mitea??
Which won't happen, as Ten Cate has already indicated he thinks Colin has the potential to play on this level and only wants to see if he's up for it; fitness- and mentally-wise.Daniel_vT schreef:Martin van Geel said that they will buy a new left winger, right winger and a pinch hitter at least. Colin has already spoken out the intention to do his best, and if his best was good enough before in Breda, I expect Ten Cate to make sure Colin gets offered a contract on a non-trial base within weeks.
Yep, which means Van Geel better get moving with those transfers in order for all the new players to be able to gel in during the season-preparations and following friendly matches.philippe schreef:time is running short : the CL preliminary round will come soon ...Raymond schreef: I expect Ten Cate to make sure Colin gets offered a contract on a non-trial base within weeks.
