If I understand the annual financial report correctly; all the Ajax players together are worth about 37 and a half million Euros. This is found under 'immateriele vaste activa' (immaterial fixed assets). 20 million for Wes would make him worth over half of the total players we have at Ajax. Seems unlikely to me. Our only hope for a huge sum (huge being well above 10 million - seems a reasonable price to me - and above the 12 million mentioned earlier) is that two rich teams end up competing for his services and that Wes is willing to go to either team. Again, unlikely.SPL schreef:Ko
Do you not think 15m euros is too little for him??
They want 25m for KJH so would value Wes at 20m.
And as far as KJH is concerned, I believe that asking 25m for the guy should be considered a polite refusal to let him go.
Having said all this though, you never know in football, all those PL tv-millions have to go somewhere...
Ajax confirm rejecting Valencia offer for Sneijder
tribalfooball.com - May 08, 2007
Ajax have confirmed they're rejected a bid from Valencia for midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
"The offer from Valencia is very far from the price for Sneijder," said an Ajax spokesman yesterday.
Valencia sports chief Amedeo Carboni had offered £5 million for the Dutchman, with another £2.5 million due based on appearances and success. Ajax are demanding a flat £8 million for Sneijder.
Carboni is expected to make an improved offer in the coming days.

Good point.SPL schreef:Some of the headlines show we want 15m euros. That would be acceptable. In one payment and not over 5 years like Zlatan.
Ajax should go like the guy in Jerry Maguire: "SHOW ME THE MONEY!"

By the way: a while ago we had Martin van Geel in the Ajax TV program I work for and I asked him "Just curious, are Juventus actually paying the annual installments for Zlatan, or are they behind?"
He told me they've been paying exactly according to schedule so far. Ajax are getting the money without problems. And even if they stop paying: Ajax have bank guarantees, so they can always claim it.
Still a shit deal, though. I just hate the idea. We should only do business with folks who have the cash. We shouldn't allow anyone to buy our players on tick and simply tell them to naff off.

15 miljoen te weinig voor Sneijder
Valencia vangt opnieuw bot

15+...
Very well done, Ajax. And it's realistic, too. We got 18M for Chivu at the time, which I tought was a very good price for a defender. We got 16M for Zlatan, which I thought should have been at least 4M more.
16M or 18M for Wesley Sneijder is definitely not ridiculous. If Valencia refuse to pay it, let's see if someone else well. We're not in a hurry.

I thought I read somewhere that Bayern München wanted to offer €15 also...we could have a nice little bidding war on our hands....Kowalczyk schreef:15+...

I think that as far as Wesley is concerned, it would a be better career move for him to go to Bayern. When they want you to be the replacement for Ballack, you know you are going to get regular starts. Going to Valencia does not have that Guarantee. I would think that Bayern are also more financially sound than Valencia so there is less risk to get the money for him.
Wesley is my fav Ajax player and I will be sad to see him move on. If he does, it seems like we will get a good transfer fee, which he is worth for a midfielder who scores not only so many goals but key goals, like last weekend at AZ. I would hate to see him move somewhere and sit on the bench. That would not happen at Bayern and Bayern would get the type of player they are looking for. It seems like a a "win-win" situation for all parties concerned.

If there come more clubs who want Welsey, maybe we get the situation that they are going to bid up against each other and the transfer fee gets higher and higher.Manneken Pis schreef:I thought I read somewhere that Bayern München wanted to offer €15 also...we could have a nice little bidding war on our hands....Kowalczyk schreef:15+...
