It seems that the KNVB and the Police are investigating last weeks match between NAC and Groningen over the number of correct score bets recieved before the match for the 3-1 result

I know there's been a lot of this sort of thing around the world, especially in Asia and in Belgium but this is the first I've seen concerning the Eredivisie....

I think it's because of the number of bets on this particular game. There's always going to be a certain number of bets and it will always fluctuate but they must have an average and I'm guessing that this match betting was way above that average.......we'll see what happens anyway.ZoefdeHaas schreef:I don't see why this is an issue. If millions around the world bet on thatgame, there's bound to be a lot of bets on a 3-1 result, considering most people think Groningen and NAC are Holland's "lesser" teams.

Write this down in your agendas...
Saturday 31 March, 19.30 CET:
NAC Breda vs PSV
Very important. PSV have a tougher schedule than Ajax from now on. They must lose twice and NAC away is definitely one of the games they must lose. It's their highest remaining hurdle. If they lose this one, they will really panic.
My prediction is that this match is the key... The pivotal, season-deciding fixture. If PSV win this one, they will straighten their backs, take a deep breath and finish the job. If they lose this one, they will also lose points against Twente and quite possibly collapse completely in Nijmegen at NEC.

quite right, and if they draw pressure will be on them : just one defeat and could lose the titleKowalczyk schreef:

Yes, they did, but - ironically - I feel that's a disadvantage now. A top team losing twice to the same opponent in a few weeks' time...? That's a rare thing. The cup defeat actually makes the chance smaller that NAC will do it again, if you ask me.ajaxillinois schreef:If I remember correctly, didn't Breda knock PSV out of the cup (with a healthy Alex)? There's always hope..

Normally I would agree with you on this, that PSV would somehow be looking for a little payback, that they would have the motivation. However, if their mindset isn't right, I don't think it matters. And after the thumping Sunday, they looked pretty disheartened.Yes, they did, but - ironically - I feel that's a disadvantage now. Plus, they're in prime position to overlook Breda with the match against Liverpool right after.

That might be true, but this result has just been the last in a series of atrocious results for them. I'm not sure two weeks is enough time for them to get their act together.Van basten schreef:i think this 2 weeks break in eredivisie is in favour of Psv. they need to recover from that crash that they had on sunday, so the break is write about time for them and absolutly needless to us, because we are on the wave right now
Lucky for them Ronald Koeman is such a good motivator, he'll have them playing like champs again soon! :D

"Geef Ajax z'n goede reputatie terug!"
Finished 1:1 .... goals at both ends from mistakes
For P$V; Da Costa failed to control a simple pass and Arne slot knicked the ball off him before smashing a shot past Gomez :D
For NAC; Zoetebier was poorly positioned - on the edge of his 6 yard box - Fartfan noticed this and fired in a long range shot with too much power and elevation for Zoetebier to reach. X'C
Anyway, it's two points dropped for P$V :headbang: and means the title should go to the last round of matches.
