It's as I said after the Den Haag match,
"Main target was to win tonight, the 3 points being the most important!
Three more on Saturday against Heerenveen....possibly!
Three more against Heracles......even bigger possibility!
Three more against PSV....a certain requirement!!"
We'll be top for the start of the PSV game.....and out of sight at the end of it!!!

Let's beat Heracles first, is what I suggest... ;)SaddlerIan schreef:We'll be top for the start of the PSV game.....and out of sight at the end of it!!!
Friendly little club. All the travelling Ajax supporters will be welcomed to the away end with a free cup of coffee and a sandwich. Nice one.
They kind of like us over there. They like to refer to Heracles vs Ajax as the 'Battle of the Greek Warriors' and make something special out of it (TIFO and stuff).
Heracles was a Greek hero, just like Ajax. His name in Greek is Herakles (with k) and the Latin name is Hercules.

Agreed  a very worthy oponnent and good preparation for next week. Lets finish this off in the second half to avoid any surprises. I think Rosales will get another shot today, De Mul hasnt been playing very well .dws schreef:Lovely footwork by Perez to trick the Heracles defence and a very nice finish into the leftside of Piekenhagen's goal.
Heracles is proving to be a much better opponent than Austria Wien in a very enjoyable game of football.
PD: What a work of beuty by PEREZ :worshippy: Excellent goal !!
BRING IT ON !!!!...

This was a weird game, with a spectacularly poor referee.
He should have booked a few players in the first half, but failed to. Then he gives Heitinga a red card that should have been a yellow at the most. Then he fails to give Perez the penalty he deserved, only to give Sneijder a penalty that he did not deserve (foul was committed just outside of the box). Chaos.
I thought the first half was very poor, to be honest. From both sides. The second half was enjoyable and pretty spectacular, but quite honestly: it could have ended very differently. Ajax totally lost the plot in the 10 minutes after Heitinga's dismissal. Heracles had three or four huge chances in that phase.
Yes, indeed: my personal MotM was Maarten Stekelenburg! I thought he had a wonderful game today.
Also good: Sneijder and Perez.
Alright: Grygera, Heitinga, Urby.
Very poor first half, pretty good second half: Gabri.
Crap: Vermaelen, Maduro, De Mul and KJH.
And I must say both Ogararu and Lindenbergh did quite well as subs. They restored the order, brought some balance and they both had one fantastic offensive pass that put someone in scoring position. Ogararu in particular deserves a lot of credit for the third goal: great run, perfect pass for Sneijder.
