For me there is no doubt that Huntelaar is the best player. He almost single-handedly salvaged the season for Ajax. Without him, Ajax may not have even made the playoffs.

I agree that Sneijder is a much more complete player than Huntelaar, but as you noted, that is because he is a midfielder, and not a striker. He seems inconsistent to me, though.

You have got to be kidding me. Sneijder is an awful player without the ball. In games against (physically) weaker opponents he's done well so far, but he has a lot of weaknesses in his game as well and I doubt that he'll succeed in top football.

We could use Wes as the spare man between defence and midfield and pinch Schaars off of AZ to play on the left side of our midfield. :yes:

Anyway, Wes is the hero for now :yes: ........ long may he keep fireing in the goals.

As for the Hunter ........ our wingers have to start producing. Huntelaar was provided with only one crafted opportunity ..... his other goal attempts came from a freekick a penalty and a deflection.

Sneijder has proven he's not much use providing the build up in a role between defense and midfield. Plus, like I said before, he's awful in his play without the ball.

Anyone of the 14% 'no voters' that have changed their minds by now?

This year's team is so much more solid then last year's. A couple of players seem to have matured. Like Stekelenburg, Sneijder, Heitinga, Babel, Urby.

Some new players are doing great at the moment; Stam, Perez and what to think of Tom de Mul? KJH may not score much but his game is actually good. Grygera has always been good I guess.

If you do want to worry about players then Rosenberg, Rosales and Roger are your likely candidates. Something about the Ro-factor? And where is Manu? Gabri and Maduro have their fans but some will argue their performance.

All in all I think that we can't complain with our current lot.

BTW, look how much our squad has evolved over the past few months. The first line up opened the season and beat Fc Kopenhagen in August by 1-2. The second line up won today in Den Haag by 1-2. The only players in the same spot are our goalie and Gabri.

I was wondering if you were going to point that out.

Can't really argue that Sneijder has been impressive this season. But KJH has also had a rough time adapting the new system and to the fact that defenses are closing in on him faster. If he starts bagging goals at the rate he did last year then he could end up pulling close with Sneijder in this imaginary ranking.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Huntelaar fan too. Can't wait to see him back in the 9 position with Sneijder behind him as a 10. With Davids and Gabri backing them up in the midfield and two fast wingers like Babel, De Mul or Leonardo we just might have a winning formula to finally win the league again. :eusa_pray:

Well deserved I feel. I believe he was on 16 or 17 goals from Midfield . His freekicks were a major weapon. When Ajax played at or near their best , he really was the straw that stirred the drink.
