After scoring 54 goals in official games this season (Heerenveen, Ajax, Jong Oranje), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is on 2nd place of players which scored most goals in one year. His score is better than Cruijff's, van Basten's and van der Kuylen's ones. On the top of the list is former Ajax player - Henk Groot, who scored 69 goals in 1960/1961 season.

There are all kinds of rumours in the Italian press, but here's my advice: don't believe them.

Ajax have signed Huntelaar for 4.5 seasons. He has four years left on his contract, so there is absolutely no way in the world we will let him go before the summer of 2008. Personally, that's when I think he will be sold, with two years left on his contract (and at an absolutely astronomic price). If Ajax let him go either before the summer of 2008 and/or for less than 25 million euros, I will become a Volendam supporter.

Sounds a bit sophisticated if you ask me Ko... They just need to learn how to put the good accent on "no" (for Italy, Spain and England) and learn about "nein" :)

I'd add "non" to the list, but who would I be kidding... KJH wouldn't leave for France. France is good for weak players like Boukhari, but that's it

We won't do anything if he decides to go, so - just in case - you can start learning Volendam's songs ;) . I only hope that his love for Ajax is not an acting and he will stay in Amsterdam as long as it's possible. I know that such things happens extremely rarely, but he's a great scorer and there are more clubs looking at him after every single goal.

Fiorentina are supposed to be after him but do they really believe we will sell him after such a short period on our books. I doubt he would want to go to a non descript Italian club like them.

I agree with Ko , if KJH breaks into the Holland team and continues to score goals at his current rate then in 2008 you are looking at 25m euros .

What we seem to forget is that KJH is not yet the finished article. Great goalscorer - 100% true. Great footballer - no not yet. This is the part of his game which will benefit from a further 2 years coaching at Ajax. Then he will be worth the 25 million euros.

Apparently, Huntelaar said in an interview on vi.nl, or something like that. He said he will only be playing for Ajax for one more season. Can anyone give anymore details about this. I dont know if it was written by a journalist or if he was actually speaking in an interview. But maybe someone can clarify this (alstublieft).

Yeah, so basically what he wanted to say was: "As far as the Fiorentina (etc.) rumours are concerned: a transfer is absolutely not an issue at this point. Ask again next summer."

Pompey signed Kanu for free. Talk of them making an offer for KJH was just paper talk. Pompey fancied Martens of Inter KJH and Forlan of Villareal but decided to get Kanu as they knew they had no chance of signing any of the other 3 named.
