LOL. You know, it was the perfect plan. No one in my family believes it was her idea to get the TV, especially when I add in the comment about watching the WC.

Only a woman could come up with such a cunning plan!

The favour will probably be watching endless repeats of DIY home makeover programmes (aka "Property Porn"). Do you have those in Oz?

We have a cable TV channel that shows hours on end of 'House Doctor' etc etc................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Then the even bigger favour is going to the DIY store to buy all the new paint etc she's just seen on TV.

My other half has been watching the World Cup too, even supporting France and booing the Portuguese with me the other night. It's scary that.

Press articles still seem to think that Juventus will be relegated. The coach has already jumped ship and it does seem that they will be punished but the likelihood of Milan going down seems unlikely. This is what I have gleaned from all the press articles I have read.

If Juve do go down there will a hugh sale of players and I bet they do not get the full price for them.

This will be the best bit as this is the club that stole Zlatan for apittance.Â£11m
over 4years and they still owe us about Â£7m.

IF all 4 teams go down there will be so much talent for sale that no one is going to come sniffing around us for another year, trying to pinch are talent.

So heres hoping for maximum punishment.

By the way: Ajax don't have to worry about the money for Zlatan that Juventus still have to pay. Even if they go down (or out of business for all I care) Ajax have a bank guarantee, so the cash will be received no matter what.

Just for the record: if Juventus are punished, they will not be allowed to play in the Champions League either. Would be quite something...

According to italian La Gazzetta dello Sport:

- Juventus will lose their last title, will be relegated to Serie B and got minus 20 points at the start of new season.

- Lazio Roma will be relegated to Serie B and got minus 10 points.

- Fiorentina will be relegated to Serie B and got minus 6 points.

- AC Milan will stay in Serie A (because of Berlusconi??), but start new season with minus 10 or 15 points.

Yep, it could be not much for some of you, but it is more than I've expected. It's good that Italians want to clean his football. Very sad days for the football fans from these cities (on the other hand - Torino and AS Roma will be extremely happy, I think ;) ), but I suppose that it was the only way to stop that game-fixing scandal. I don't think it is not a huge penalty for them. Remember that it was about really big clubs. I am sure that there is a lot of countries (inluding Poland, unfortunately), which wouldn't do even such steps as Italy.

PS: I forgot to add this, but it is not an official news at the moment. The official statement will be announced today at 20.00, but - according to La Gazzetta dello Sport it is almost sure that the results will be very close to these ones that I wrote earlier.

The actual sentence is always less severe than the claim. That's normal. That's why prosecutors 'aim high', so that the final punishment is more or less reasonable.

Given the point deduction (15 or 20) Juve have in practice been thrown back to the Serie B for at least two seasons. Which I think is a pretty serious punishment. When this whole thing started I thought they were going to get away with everything. But they won't, so I'm actually not that disappointed in Italian football justice as I thought I would be.

And now for something completely different...

Denny Landzaat to Wigan Athletic...?? What the f**k's that all about? Last year they were talking about Real Madrid! Is thatreally the biggest club that was interested...?

It is not as big surprise as Patrick Kluivert in AZ Alkmaar :). I've read that they are interested in him. As for Landzaat - he's 30, so Wigan is more probably than Real Madrid or other clubs from the european top.

Don't put all your money on "Kluivert won't go to AZ", is my advice... Kluivert is pretty desperate because he's starting to feel that no-one wants him. I saw him in Vondelpark here in Amsterdam the other day and he's... well, not exactly match fit, if you know what I mean.

One cup of coffee together and Louis van Gaal will talk him right into it. Seriously.

Yeah, of course, but last year he turned Ajax down because he wanted to move abroad, and his agent said that "several big clubs" were interested. What happened to those clubs then? I mean, Wigan is not much of a name...

Kluivert is 30 , has been injury-riddled, and has become a football nomad. Granted, he can still score on occasion, but AZ must have problems up front to take a flyer on him. Given our striker situation; The Hunter, The Angel, The kid, and Rosey can all play at #9; who in their right mind would print a story using " Kluivert" , "Ajax", and "interest in" in the same column inches?

P.S. Agents blow smoke about their clients as easy as they breathe. Not surprised at all that Landzaat is going to a possible UEFA Cup or Inter-Toto level club like Wigan.

As for The latest version of The Italian Job, you reap what you sew. I hope this sends a signal not only to Italy,but other prosecutors who might encounter such football related problems. If the bastards are guilty, allow them their appeals, but,if convictions are upheld, JUSTICE WITHOUT MERCY!

Clubs can't be allowed to screw with the cultural and sporting fabric of societies they reside in.Also ,Success at any cost , as long as you can get away with it, isn't a great message .

Landzaat to Wigan comes as a surprise to me also. During the World Cup, Espanyol was in the race for Landzaat and that is a pretty big club in a good competition. But Wigan... :sad:

As for Kluivert: No way. Everytime its the same story with Patrick. Thrown out of a club, promises to do it better the next time, gets a new clubs and then the whole story starts over again. Kluivert is still a big name, that's why relatively big clubs want him, like Newcastle and Valencia. But everytime Kluivert fucks it up. Not in good shape, therefore always injured. But he's enjoying live... if you know what I mean :xyxthumbs:

I'm afraid that it is only a big name, not a big player. But I really think he can be a dangerous striker. It's hard to forget everything from day to day. He has to know how to score the goals and I hope he won't prove it when he will play in AZ shirt against us...

According to Italian sources. Its official, AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina are relegated to Serie B and Juventus relegated to Serie C. That is what is believed to have been the consequences.

I think it is more than we all expected. Respect for italian federation. I would like to see the same in Poland.

PS: Now the rest of european clubs will have great hunting. A lot of great players which don't want to play in Serie B or Serie C. Maybe Ajax also get someone.

The US Federation announced today that they will NOT renew coach Bruce Arena's contract when it expires at the end of the year, and will begin searching for a new coach immediately.

A new coach beginning on January 1. Klinsmann wants six months off to spend time with his family. Hmmm... Coincidence? Writing on the wall? Foregone conclusion?

My mistake, AC Milan stay in Serie A, deducted several points, out of the champions leauge as are the rest, Lazio and Fiorentina relegated to Serie B, Juventus relegated to Serie C1 and deducted by almost 20 points.

I think that it will change. The clubs can appeal of this decision and they will do it for sure. I think that it will help them and the punisment won't be as hard as it is now.
