New Players for Ajax
Moderators: ajaxusa, Kowalczyk, mods
Apparently Jaap Stam has suffered an injury to his right shoulder and is forced to surgery, making last Sundays' match against Livorno his last for AC Milan.
Has anyone got any more details? It seems like he's suffered quite a few injuries lately. Hopefully he won't be that injury prone at Ajax.

Dont worry lad and everybody who responded, i like learning new things, they dont teach us European Geopolitics in this part of the world.SE6Ajacied schreef:I won't be too much of a pedant but the Republic of Ireland isn't part of the UK either....if you'd said 'British Isles', that would have been more accurate (and correct).Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:

Yeah, that's what I thought, that's why I wasn't in sarcastic mode. Your English is about 1000 times better than my Spanish anyway so I have nothing to crow about......Venezuelan Ajacied schreef:

PS: I say, 3 million Euro for our man Kromkamp. Tops.
I think Kromkamp would be a great addition. even though he hasnt been able to break in to the starting elleven it doesnt mean he's a bad player. And I'm assuming he has still practiced with the first squad, so despite not having a "game form" it's not like he has been laying iddle either.
Some people call Holland all the country ,cause they were very important to Netherlands history... ;) ;)

Fisnik Shala
Oh, we all miss Per and Jakob, don't we...? What a shame we don't see much of them these days...
They're missed, especially now... We need them as translators!
According to a report in Swedish paper Trelleborgs Allehanda young Swedish striker Fisnik Shala will join Ajax on a try-out. He's 17 years old and currently playing for Trelleborgs FF in Sweden. It would cost Ajax some 360,000 euros to sign him up.

Not to worry friends, I'm still here on a regular basis. Since I haven't been able to watch many Ajax games this season, I've just been a bit quite lately.aveslacker schreef: Where are those guys anyway?
Anyway, I read about this Fisnik Shala (Swedish name, huh?) guy, but I haven't got a clue who he is. Never heard of him actually. However, I guess he's got talent if Ajax want's to give him a shot, but this is still just a try-out, aren't there lots of that kind at Ajax?
Has anyone seen the Limecat?
He's invited for a weeks training. Olsen have scouted him and seen him a couple of times over the last year. He's been invited two time before but has been stopped by Trelleborg.
He's a forward, plays in the B-squad of Trelleborg (who's A-squad plays in the second highest division in Sweden). He's been playing for some of the Sweden international youth teams (not U21).
I guess he's considered for one of the youth teams?

ok..now that the season is over and the dismissal of the current coach staff has been officialiy announced, another page has been turned.
it's time to think (and dream) about the next year squad.
here there's my vision of things:
* means of course the new players
I list them from right to left in order to have two or more players for each position in the 4-3-3 of course
25 players in the squad.
GOALKEEPERS: Stekelenburg, Gentenaar*, Vermeer.
DEFENDERS: Melchiot*, Stam*, Vermaelen, Emanuelson; Boakye, Heitinga, Schilder, Lindenbergh.
MIDIFIELDERS: Snejider, Maduro, Davids*; Krohn-Dehli*, Mendes Da Silva*, Boukhari.
FORWARDS: Rosales, Huntelaar, Babel; De Mul*, Rosenberg, Perez*; Charisteas, Mitea.
YOUTH: Defour*, Anita, Sarpong.
Love this squad :headbang:

The papers over here are suggesting that Davids is on his way out of Spurs and AJAX is his destination.
We do need an experienced midfielder but what do you guys think of him coming back.We could do worse.
Not sure we need Bouhkari as we will have enough left sided midfielders.
I imagine Sarpong will start to get more games next season and Defour will get playing time if he comes

Davids played a lot older and slower for Spurs this season than he did the season before he arrived. He wasn't one of their strongest players this year, and he's on the decline.
His knowledge, experience, and tenacity would be great for Ajax next season, but his actual playing ability would not improve the skill and quality on the field.
Just my opinion...

Agreed.ozzerdibazio schreef:I disagree. Edgar Davids is the kind of player who will lift the team. He did so at Barcelona and he has done so again at Tottenham. I also disagree that he has had a poor season. I have watched him alot and he has been impressive. He would be a great signing for Ajax, no doubt about it.
I think that it is also about installing into the rest of a squad a winning in style mentality game after game after game and not just when it suits them. He and Stam will be great at that.

Completely agree with you. He is fit and played well most of the season, then lost his spot (for a non-serious injuy I think) and had to play out of position (on the left) cause his young sub in the middle was going very well.
but he is grown in ajax, knows the enviroment and is a charismatic player, he and stam are the kind of players the youngster would look at with respect and will to learn. perfect. :worshippy:
and consider that he has feeling with ten cate for the superb season played in barcelona. :xyxthumbs:

As you may know, Krompkamp seems to have said that he wants another season at liverpool.
van geel is reported to have turned his eyes on the good old mario melchiot, 29 years old that doesn't want to extend his contract with birmingham city. as far as I am concerned I have nothing against: solid defender, expert, not a runner like trabelsi but not a shy, inoffensive defender.
