Check this:

There's a fair chance your Turkish is as bad as mine, but the bottom line is clear: Trabzonspor are reportedly interested in landing Boukhari. Not sure whether they're talking about a January transfer or a pre-contract arrangement for the summer.

In the Dutch media Boukhari has been quoted saying that he will finish the season at Ajax.

Some talk today of Ajax giving him another contract!!!! Why would they want to
as we will have Sneijder, Lindenbergh, Maduro, Krohn-Dehli, Perez, Sarpong, plus possibly Davids or someone of experience.

He has played his best but he is not good enough if we want to win the championship and rebuild.

It would be the second or third time he flatlined, but came back to life...

I don't think it will happen, though. The whole rumour is based on one quote. Some journalist asked him an open question about season's end (like 'what are you going to do?') and Boukhari said something like: "I don't know what will happen."

That's all.

Did not see anything from the game yesterday (thanks to Ajax tv, still on the Holland Wide Web only :rocketwhore: ), but read that Boukhari did quite well. Another good game and excellent season end for him : what do you think ?

He did well. Yeah. He always has a few very weak moments, where he just thinks and reacts too slowly. But he had good moments as well. And he worked his nuts off, as usual.

It's happened a few times now: Boukhari being put on the transfer list and told that he can go, after which he starts doing the business and fights back. He unexpectedly won a contract renewal that way a few years ago and there are rumours now... Yet, I don't think Ajax will offer him a new deal. I think this really is the end for him. And I can't blame the club. He always works hard and sometimes plays well, but he's just... not great.

Not a Boukhari backer, but I think he should be given a contract if, BIG IF, he would be willing to accept a bench player role at the right wage. I can't believe I'm saying this, but he is productive in a limited role. And, he knows the system. And, he is versatile enough to play several positions.

That said, overcrowding in the midfield will preclude him receiving another contract.

Officially confirmed on Ajax.nl now: Ajax are in talks with Nourdin Boukhari at the moment. A report just appeared on the site in which the club announce that there will be an official 'thank you and goodbye' thing for the departing players: Hatem Trabelsi, Hans Vonk, Yannis Anastasiou, Tomás Galásek, Juanfrán and Steven Pienaar, followed by the sentence "Ajax will not officially say goodbye to Nourdin Boukhari, as the club are currently talking to the player."

Remarkable: almost every news source in Holland reported that Juanfran is on his way out, and that Ajax will not sign him permanently. Ajax.nl never confirmed this - until now. News report on Ajax USA coming up!

just noticed that too, interesting, I would assume that Blind and Boukhari share the same fate at Ajax : they would both stay, or both leave.

I am surprised that he will possibly stay. Yes he has done well in the last month BUT our midfield is currently, Galasek, Maduro, Lindenbergh, Bouhkari.
Not inspiring!!

Sneijder 20 mins playing time since start of Feb and Pienaar 4/5 games in which he has not played a full 90 mins.Sarpong and Anita still youths.

Next season competition will be greater with players like Krohn-Dehli and Perez arriving and we will likely buy.

In addition Sarpong and Anita will start to be more involved in the firsts. And a young Belgium Vertoghen is playing fairly regularly in the reserves at 18 years of age.

Mind you if we are looking at rubbish like Hendrie we may as keep Bouhkari

One thing about Ajax, noone can ever accuse the club of being dull.If the on-field doesn't thrill you, wait 5 seconds until, like Dutch weather, the winds of change blow in dressing or board rooms.

I can see us buying Joris Mathijsen just for the drama...and to piss off AZ.

As The Club Turns. Stay tuned.

Yes, an excellent season end but over the whole season definitely not - the number of mistakes the guy made that cost us goals or where we lost possession in a good position was frightening. 4 or 5 good games does not make it an excellent season

He is not Ajax class - I want the best for Ajax and I am afraid that Boukhari is not in that class.

I have a lot of admiration for Boukhari and will admit that he has played well over the last month even after being told that his contract would not be renewed. A lot of people would have given up the ghost at that stage but to his credit he picked himself up and acted in a very professional manner.

But at the end of the day, Ajax made a decision in February and they should stick by it. When the decision was made at that time it was because Boukhari was truly playing badly.

If Ajax want to get back to the top they have to be ruthless - guys like Boukhari are not and never will be the type of player required to bring Ajax back to the top in not only the Eredivisie or Europe.

We have to look at the season as a whole and not just what is happening in the ludicrous play-off system - this season has been bloody awful, no ifs or buts about it. The league position after 34 games testifies to this.
O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.

I agree. And I think that if we had not had such bad luck with injuries, he would hardly have got any playing time this season.

I know we need strength in depth in case we have as many injuries next season. But with the new players arriving / returning in the summer, and some promising young players coming into the squad, I think he will not even get many games on the bench.

I pretty much agree with others here. He's an okay player, but not great. If he were exceptional, then yes, keep him of course. But with greater competition I see him as a fringe player coming off the bench sometimes, and to be honest, I'd rather have some of the young guys like Anita and Sarpong filling that limited role next season to get experience. I'm somewhat surprised the club is looking to extend his contract.

Nourdin Boukhari has been cleared to play in Sunday's Cup final against PSV. Ajax's midfielder was shown a red card in the last playoff match against FC Groningen, but the disciplinary committee of the Dutch FA acquitted him, as did they Groningen player Danny Buys, due to lack of evidence.

I for one am impressed by Boukhari. Not necessarily for the way he plays, but for the way he went in there for his teammate. I admire that spirit.

I'd admire him more if he could play like his hair was on fire from match one, rather than rising like Lazarus only when he's about to do a "Survivor" and get voted out.
