New Players for Ajax

As far as I know, we need at least 4 more players for next season's squad.
here's my list:

a RB: Dwight Tiendalli is possible?
a RM: Denny Landzaat is for sure a candidate
a GK: Oscar Moens?

and then, the type of player we don'thave at all.. and I don't even know if the board is thinking on this problem..

a defending miedfielder, strong, physical, great runner a ball hunter, "bad" on the pitch.
A player a là Davids, a là Diarra..maybe it's enough a là Galasek with ten years less...any ideas?

Here are two (unlikely) suggestions: Thomas Graversen or Christian Poulsen. Buy yea, we need that type of player

Poulsen is set to join Real Madrid acording AS Magazine a reknown football mag in Spain. But that does mean Gravesen will be let go, he could come to ajax but i think we are already a little old on the signing block.

Linderoth would not be a bad idea but i think he lacks the actual bite, he is very good at controlling the midfield but he does not have that nasty edge that players like Davids, Gatuso etc have.

Galasek, Boukhari, Trabelsi, Vonk and Anastasiou are leaving. Escudé has already left and I think there's a good chance that Grygera, Rosales, Juanfran and Charisteas will leave as well. That means the average age of our squad will again drop considerably. So a 30-year old here or there between all the youngsters wouldn't hurt. I'd prefer to have one class act 30+ year old in every line to support all the youngsters.

Ajax has always been on top of its game when there has been a good blend of youth and experience. I agree that Stam should be captain . I would have no problem at all seeing a thirty year old Denny Landzaat in the side. 30? A right f****n' fossil if you ask me. Seriously, if the guy is playing at a high level, bring him in.Do whatever is necessary to right the ship.

Kelly isn't a wingback, he's a full fledged right back.

I watch him every week in the Danish league. Trust me, he gets in opponents' faces as much as the Poulsen, Davids or Gatuso. We can't afford them. We can afford Linderoth, and he is only 26. Perfect age for a DM if you ask me.

By the way: Julian Jenner, the NAC winger we're all so interested in, scored for NAC against F-word today. It was 1-3 to Feyenoord until the 90th minute, but then NAC scored twice (in the 90th and 91st minutes). Wonderful!

Linderoth is an ok player that seems to be rising with the occasion every time Sweden plays big teams. He's a good runner and destroyer. He's not much of a talker and his passing could definetly be better. We wouldn't get many assists from him is my guess.

He started on the bench, which can be good or bad. Either he's not good enough to be a starter for NAC. Or he is but the coach wants to play a different system. In that case NAC will have to settle for less money seeming as this player is merely a substitute in their squad.

Ok I am a Greek and I understand that the rivalry between Ajax and Fey. is the greatest in Holland, but where does PSV stand between them? In Greece its Panathinaikos vs Olympiakos and AEK is close. But there we have another triplet from the second biggest city of Greece, considering that the 3 mentioned are form Athens.

So is it bad that I want Az or Fey to get the championship this year instead of PSV? I could be considered as an anti-ajacied with this comment but I believe that PSV is more disgusting at this moment and Fey... is in a big sleep in the last 8 years

Well, I don't think you'll get much dissent here in going for AZ if we don't win it.......I think most on here supported them in Europe last year and despite recent events I still have a soft spot for them (I'll even confess to owning an AZ shirt).

Wanting F-word to win it though is a serious condition and I suggest a course of immediate treatment :pukey: ;)

When I was living in Greece my perception was that Panathinaikos-Olympiakos was by far the greatest rivalry, if only because they were the two biggest clubs in Greece. I was lucky enough to have gone to Panathinaikos-Olympiakos twice (once sitting just a few feet away from thrya 13 in thyra 12)-- great games. I always thought that AEK was kind of the third team in Greece, although my friends who supported Olympiakos said that they had a huge rivalry with AEK.

I would say that PSV would kind of be like AEK if you put AEK in Thessaloniki, away from media centers of Athens. But no matter where they are in the table, Ajax-Feijenoord is, in my opinion, a greater rivalry than Ajax-PSV, sort of like my impression that Panathinaikos-Olympiakos is a greater rivalry than either team has with AEK (although I know Olympiakos, in particular, has a big rivalry with PAOK as well).

PSV have won so many titles playing shit football. I would rather AZ or F'noord win the title because their football is much more entertaining than PSV's.

I have no real dislike of any Eredivise team, but I am pissed off with The Eindhoven club; have been since the mid 80's.

According to the website of Voetbal International Ajax two players are very likely to join Ajax in the summer.

Number one: goalkeeper Dennis Gentenaar (30), an ex-NEC man, currently on the bench at Borussia Dortmund.

Number two: central defender and Oranje international Joris Mathijsen of AZ. VI reports that Wilfred Bouma (ex-PSV, now at Aston Villa) is the club's reserve option if they fail to land Mathijsen.

It doesn't really say anywhere that Mathijsen is likely to join Ajax, Ko. VI reports that Ajax is very keen on signing him, that is true.

Mathijsen would be a good signing for Ajax, but I would prefer for Ajax,if possible, to sign a similar standard of defender from a club which is not considered to be one of our main rivals. I would like to see at least four teams fight for the Eredivisie title next season.Hence, whilst Ajax require to strengthen for next season, I don't want to see our main rivals diminshed.

Geez, let's not get too sympathetic towards our rival teams. I want Ajax to become Dutch champions again. I don't care if we have to sign ten midgets to do so.
