Now that it's officially been announced that Alex McLeish will be replaced as Rangers manager in the summer, it was also been announced that the new manager is already signed and agreed to the position, and the announcement of the new manager will be made after their Champions League match against Villareal... the heavy speculation is that Paul Le Guen is the new manager at Rangers.jamcocteau schreef:Bryanbryan schreef:
My candidates, in order of preference:
1. Paul Le Guen
2. Morten Olsen
3. Henk ten Cate
4. Ruud Krol
your number 1 choice in Paul Le Gen would definitely be top of my list at the moment too. Guy proved himself at Lyon and has the right credentials for the job.
Jari is a bit quiet for me. He may become a good analyst, perhaps a second fiddle, but to me he doesn't have the character to be a no 1.Ayman schreef:That is actually a good choice for a coach...Jari Litmanen, the only drawback is, like Blind he lacks experience, and he maybe Great on the field but what about when he is in the dugout? :bis:
Besides, he still plays, (badly) for Malmö here in Sweden.
Why do you build me up? BUTTERCUP!

Blind looks like he's sleeping well lately.
BTW....slight adaptation of the Oasis song......
"Bugger all"
Today is gonna be the day
That they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do about you now
Backbeat the word was on the street
That the fire in your heart is out
I'm sure you've heard it all before
But you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels
The way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk along are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
I don't know how
Because Danny
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
'Cause after all
You've fixed bugger all
Today was gonna be the day?
But they'll never throw it back to you
By now you should've somehow
Realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody
Feels the way I do
About you now
And all the roads that lead to you were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
I don't know how
I said Danny
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
'Cause after all
You've fixed bugger all
I said Danny
You're gonna be the one who saves me ?
'Cause after all
You've fixed bugger all
Said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

I have a feeling that today is D-Day for Blind. Seriously.
He has said a few remarkable things lately, such as that he wouldn't mind coaching a youth team (??) and that the board "will have to take a decision" if the play-offs slip out of sight. His latest statement (prior to the Willem II game) was that the next five games against lowly opposition must be won, no matter what.
As I wrote in one of my recent match reports: It is not unthinkable that Blind has decided for himself that he will resign if these five games against lowly opposition do not yield 15 points. And Den Haag-away is definitely the trickiest of the lot (a bit like Utrecht-away, but against a team of lesser quality than Utrecht).
If we drop points today I wouldn't be surprised if Blind throws in the towel tomorrow morning. Wouldn't bet on it, but wouldn't be surprised either.

Naaaahhh, Rosenberg is crap, and we ALL know he is.philippe schreef:What if Blind was right ? About Rosenberg, our defense, Boukhari …
What if we qualify for the playoffs, and then for the CL ?
What if we eliminate inter next week ?
What if Blind turns out to be a great coach in Ajax style ?
meh :|
Yeah, what if Rosenberg wasn't that bad ?... :D .... ;)philippe schreef:About Rosenberg
Well, I always thought Blind deserved a little bit more respect(I didn't shout it everywhere though
I hope it will continue that way, though I still I have my doubts concerning the play-off and the Inter game. I hope Blind will be the man to prove me wrong. :eusa_pray:

Well, according to some rumours (another one was published today on Ajax Netwerk), Blind may well have to find another job for next season. The man to replace him would be our dear Co Adriaanse, who has been contacted by Van Geel, according to the same rumour.
I really don't know what to think about that...
I know Van Geel and Co did a great job with AZ, etc... but I'm a bit afraid of Co's personality. And I don't know if it would be really fair to "sack" Blind at the end of the season. Well, wait and see...
