Just don't be so politically correct. Every site advocating or using the image of women being raped or sexually assaulted has no FUCKING place here (and even on the internet).SE6Ajacied schreef:I hope I'm not being too prudish here, but "Rapescenes" sounds a bit beyond the pale to me - this is a free site for footy fans and I just don't think that sort of stuff should be on here.

You're right of course, it's just that generally I really hate those ultra-pc people who compalin about everything - I just wanted to explain that I felt that this particular site was particularly offensive and that's why I was moaning so much.carcajou schreef:Just don't be so politically correct. You are absolutely right and we don't allow that kind of websites linked with our users. The problem is, at the moment we can't control who register on Ajaxtalk, we can only delete them as soon as we see the dodgieness of their account. Normally we are quite fast with noticing them, sometimes it can take a little while. But of course, Ajaxtalk does not allow this.

Wouldn't it be possible the check for a list of substrings like (porn, female, rape, monkeysex etc.) in the URL of the people registering and then send you notification if it happens ?Raymon schreef:You are absolutely right and we don't allow that kind of websites linked with our users. Should ease the process.

Not a bad idea actually. I'll look into the code later (after the LakeSide final). The only problem is that there are so many possibilities to check for. But at least it will filter some of them.carcajou schreef:Wouldn't it be possible the check for a list of substrings like (porn, female, rape, monkeysex etc.) in the URL of the people registering and then send you notification if it happens ?Raymon schreef:You are absolutely right and we don't allow that kind of websites linked with our users. To be honest Raymon, you would have to have been very speedy to see this before I did, as I said in my earlier posting, they were all shown as starting today (in NL time) and I saw them (including the dodgy one) at about 01.00hrs UK time so that was I think about an hour on there. Good work for getting rid of them and that probably happened without any of you mods reading my post (unless you're all really sleepy and read the English "about this forum" post first :xyxthumbs: )Raymon schreef: Normally we are quite fast with noticing them, sometimes it can take a little while. I think you could check an open source spam detector and use the same keywords set. It could work like a charm.Raymon schreef: Not a bad idea actually. Though it's easier to say than to actually code it...

DanK and I just noticed that there is something wrong with the PM service of this forum... We sent each other a PM a few times, received e-mail notification, but when we checked our inboxes there was nothing there. This happened to me twice in the past two days and it just happened to Dan. So, basically, you send a PM, the recipient receives e-mail notification, but the actual PM never arrives to his inbox.
Or something... Did anyone else notice this?
I just sent e-mail (not a PM...) to Drecul, our Ajax Talk technician and wizzkid.

Personally, I never check my number of posts. Not very interesting. But I know that some of you are very well aware of their numbers of posts. If you belong to that category there is a chance that you have 'lost' a few posts, due to the fact that I've been cleaning up a bit. I closed many old, irrelevant threads down (we're talking about pages 5, 6 and 7 of this zone) and I deleted a few, too. There were a few topics in the archives that got out of hand (abuse, etc.), there were a few commercial ones (people promoting their commercial sites, etc.) and there were a few that just made no sense because they weren't about Ajax or football. Those are the ones I deleted. If you posted something in those threads at the time, you may have lost a few posts (this happened to myself as well).
My apologies if you were going for the Guinness Book of Records. ;)

Nope, I've also noticed that. It happened to me a few times, too.carcajou schreef:I have the impression that some of the PMs are lost in the process.... Am I the only one to have noticed that??
I've also been in touch with Drecul, but he couldn't really figure it out, either...

I have a question/proposal for Kowalczyk (and other moredators). Is it possible to paste "Personal Introductions Thread" that it would be the first thread on a first side? There are some new browsers joining us every week and it would be nice to know more about them. I think that a lot of them don't search all the pages to find that thread. What do you think about it?

Important Announcement
K.
I noticed that the forum went down a few times in the past couple of hours, so perhaps the transition process has started. Ajax Talk will be down for a few days when it happens. If you want to discuss Ajax in English during Ajax Talk's absense, I suggest you liven up the English section at Ajax Netwerk!Ajax Talk Moderators schreef:Due to the change of webhosting Ajaxtalk will be down for a few days. We expect downtime approx. a week after the WorldCup final but the exact date will be communicated nearer to the time.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.
With regards,
