It was a shame really, to see grown men violently force a fellow Ajacied into drinking all that beer :D .SE6Ajacied schreef:Have you recovered from all that painfull arm-twisting we had to do to get you to have a beer ;)Per schreef:

On subject:
As Yannis seems to be the answer, at least until Harry is back we now have a situation where Markus Rosenberg is third choice. Excellent time for Blind to play him in the reserves/youth.
Alot of senior Ajax players have regained form and strength in that team. And way I see it he needs to build confidence and touch on the bakk as OPH so clearsightedly points out.
As for Yannis: good thing that someone gets a thimbs up for being able to play with ones ass to the goal. This quality is often looked over by football connaisseurs ;)
Why do you build me up? BUTTERCUP!
And I was told today that I would earn a bit more than expected, which is GREAT.Kowalczyk schreef:Actually... We taught our man Carcajou how to drink beer... and then he found a job! Today!Per schreef:I also survived....it involved "having" to drink alot of :bier: though.

I'd like to thank my drinking coaches Menno, Per and Se6Ajacied for such a good (alcoholized) night after the game had tarnished the day.
But please have a look at that grin on my avatar and remember that I'm aiming for the #1 boozer spot. Some day lads, I'll make you roll under the tables :hypocrite: ;)

Youve got a long way to go there Carcajou to be able to match the years of dedication that the likes of OPH, Pizza 5, Jock Cloggie, Ray, and The Battram Clan etc have put into the art of drinking copious amounts of beer without getting totally legless. This aim of yours could take years but I am sure you will enjoy the practice.Carcajou schreef:But please have a look at that grin on my avatar and remember that I'm aiming for the #1 boozer spot. May I suggest your first road to rack and ruin should be an Ij Brewery Columbus at 9%. After a couple even I become a Yannis fan. :D
BTW congratulations on your new job :xyxthumbs:

from ajax.nl :
" Yannis Anastasiou had the greatest chance to break the spell. Five minutes before the end, the Greek striker could have won the match when he had a free header after a fine cross by Wesley Sneijder. But he just missed the mark. ,,Yannis received a good pass, was in the five-meter area but missed his specialty’’, Blind looked back in disbelief. "
Terrible comment :nervous:

MOST HEARTWARMING STORY
Yannis Anastasiou (AFC Ajax v FC Thun)
Greek striker Yannis Anastasiou was on his way out at Ajax in March. Told he was to be released, he was barely featuring in the starting lineup anyway. But then Danny Blind arrived as coach and told the 32-year-old he wanted him to stay because of his good influence on the younger players. Then on Matchday 3 Blind surprisingly picked the striker for the fixture against Thun, with Ajax struggling in Group B. Anastasiou responded by scoring both goals, and added another in a the subsequent 4-2 win in Switzerland that took Ajax to the verge of the last 16 for the first time in three years.

According to Voetbal International our man Yannis might well leave Ajax this month. NEC, Willem II and his old club, Roda, have shown interest in the Greek veteran. According to VI Ajax are open for talks and willing to let Anastasiou go on a free transfer to a Dutch club, or for a fee to a foreign club.
Yannis' contract will expire at season's end and will not be renewed, as announced earlier.

Still alive...
I read somewhere that he is interested in staying on in the Netherlands because he wants to coach. He feels that the Netherlands would be a good place for him to learn coaching skills. I doubt we would get much money for him; let him join another Eredivisie club for free.Kowalczyk schreef:According to Voetbal International our man Yannis might well leave Ajax this month. Well, that would be great for him. No surprises to regular readers that I'll be sad to see him go but I'd wish him well and a three year contract is very good at this stage in his career.Kowalczyk schreef: He can sign a three-year deal at NAC
