If they say Ajax struckk a deal, any financial details given?Kowalczyk schreef:According to Dutch football journos Johan Derksen and Hugo Borst, regulars in football talkshow Football Insite, it is sure that defender Ron Vlaar (AZ) and striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Heerenveen) will join Ajax, possibly in the winter break. It is said that Ajax have already struck a deal with these two.

As told "De Telegraaf" Ajax made official transfer offer to AZ Alkmaar, but they rejected it.
I'm wondering if they don't want to sell Ron Vlaar at all, or is it just a typical 'game' of a club which has a transfer offer? Maybe they refused because they think, that our next offer will be better for them?

I think we should keep some of the players whos contract runs out at the end of the season. In the mean time we should also look to sign other players for next season. Here are some suggestions. Somba (Nigerian international linksback/midfield) Cicinho (Brazilian reichtback) Renato (Brazilian midfielder) and Gera(WBA Hungarian anchorman)

I think the only players we should necessarily keep are Maxwell and de Jong. Now something about players you wrote: Cicinho (one of the best young wing backs of the world) will probably join Real Madrid (they talked with him already during last U-20 Championship) and they probably has 'first option' of his transfer (few Real's foreign players has a second- EU- nation, so they have a place for another Brazilian player). Zoltan Gera isn't much better than our midfielders, and he is also not very young and perspective player, so it's hard to think that he will develope into a great footballer (Zoltan Gera was born in '79). Renato is very good, but he is also very expencive (I'm afraid we can't buy such expencive player).Ayman schreef:I think we should keep some of the players whos contract runs out at the end of the season. I don't know last of players you wrote (Somba). Maybe you mean 'Samba'? If yes- Cherno Samba is quite good, but he is striker. It's not bad that he is, ofcourse, but I don't think we really need another player on this position in our squad. If not (I mean- if you didn't write about Samba, but about Somba), so our scouts should watch this player.

According to "Sportweek" there is a possibility that Y.Hersi will back to Ajax. Hersi said, that he won't refuse if Danny Blind will ask him to join Ajax this winter.
Well, I think if he won't refuse, NEC board will do it... Hersi is one of the best NEC's players and I don't think they are going to sell him. Maybe his contract expires on this winter or summer? What do you think about that?

Ron Vlaar
Hehe, this is amusing... Both of these quotes are up on the Ajax USA homepage...
09 November: "There is absolutely no way we will let Vlaar go to Ajax on an early transfer. We would rather keep him here until his contract has expired [in the summer of 2007], even though that will cost us money. Our relationship with Ajax is a very touchy subject amongst our supporters and this hasn't exactly improved since Martin van Geel left for Amsterdam."
- AZ chairman Dirk Scheringa on Ajax's interest in defender Ron Vlaar, in De Telegraaf.
10 November: "If Ajax come up with a good bid, we are ready to talk about Ron Vlaar. We would rather keep Vlaar here, but if we can reach a financial agreement with Ajax even [AZ chairman] Dirk Scheringa will have to choose for what's best for the club, and forget about the emotions."
- AZ technical director Marcel Brands on RTV Noord-Holland.

Man, they really look good as a professional organisation, don't they? Always good to see that the top people within an organisation are on the same wavelength...

Whatever hapen's with the Vlaar situation i think its safe to say that he is not staying with AZ. I think we should talk with him get to a personal agreement, make him sign some sort of pre-contract and then sign him on a free transfer at seasons ends.
Dont give them Az bastards a single penny. :D

I was very dissapointed to say the least, first time i really kept a close eye on him and boom!!!! totaly dominated by the italian atackand got subed early in the game.Looked like another Heitinga to me, the Luca Toni goal reminded me of the Kalou goal where Escude got totaly beaten phisically. There are time when a defender just has to pull his marker down and accept the yellow card, Vlaar should have done that. I heard he was "meaner" than Heitinga....he sure dident look that way today.dws schreef:3 costly errors from Ron Vlaar tonight.Ajax should look elsewhere for a central defender; Ajax require an experienced player not a fedgling.
Anyways his still young, so he has time to develop that, but the question is do we really want to buy another Heitinga like player?????

Ron should remain with AZ; he will have a better chance of developing his game in the less pressurised environment at Alkmaar. The mistakes he made were those of a very inexperienced player. I would prefer Ajax to try and persuade Villareal to part with Kromkamp (correct spelling this time :D ) for Trabelsi plus cash.

Vlaar / Kluivert
Okay, two things...
1. According to VI and the Eredivisie Journal on Talpa TV the transfer fee demanded by AZ for Ron Vlaar is only some 1.5 million euros and he has completely made up his mind: he wants to join Ajax. I would say: that fee is not too high, let's sign him up.
2. Patrick Kluivert confirmed in newspaper De Telegraaf that he's had contact with Ajax: "I've had a special relationship with Gerard [van der Lem] for a long time. I was surprised about his phonecall, but morethan anything else I felt honoured." According to other media, by the way, Kluivert is Ajax's second choice, after Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

To quote Krusty the Clown: ME LIKEY VERY MUCH.Patrick Kluivert confirmed in newspaper De Telegraaf that he's had contact with Ajax...
Just a thought on signings. With coach Blind's playing history at Ajax, he surely would have nurtured strong ties with former players now in coaching roles around Europe. So where are the players?
I remember Guus Hiddink once saying that the main reason he is a successful coach is because he has many loyal friends based at different clubs who feed him information on football matters. Why haven't we seen that with Mr Blind? Food for thought.
