Players Leaving Ajax
Moderators: ajaxusa, Kowalczyk, mods
I would not pick either man again. They have both been very good players for this club but they do not want to be here. I do not want them in the team any more. Both will miss about 6 league games after New Year due to African nations Cup. Will we do any worse without them ?????? But for the playoffs are season would now be about qualifying for the UEFA Cup next season.
Sorry to be blunt but we are having a crap season and I do not think we need to play players who want out. I feel we will have a hugh clear out in the summer especially if we have no Champions League next season !!!

Okay, so let's be practical.
Pienaar and Trabelsi are on their way out. Both players are in their fifth season at Ajax. Which is quite a long time. If every player of their caliber would stay that long, we would never have a 'nursery of Europe' problem.
The club are talking to three more boys with expiring contracts: De Jong, Galásek and Maxwell. I think Maxwell won't sign a new deal. As for Galásek: do we want him to sign a new deal? He's getting older and more injury-prone, he's not always great anymore and he is basically the reason why Maduro (a midfielder) now plays as a defender, which he's really no good at. Maybe it's time for Galásek to go (with all due respect!).
I do think the club should do everything to make De Jong stay. It will be hard to convince him now that his mate Pienaar is leaving. Those two are always together.

Granted - great goal, but what about the rest of the game where he was at best average and was partly to blame for the defensive mess. FC Thun just did what they wanted to in midfield.Cedric_AeF schreef:His goal against Thun for example ? ;)

Ajax said that they won't do that, but - quite obviously - they will if they get the chance.ZoefdeHaas schreef:Sell Maxwell, Pienaar, and Trabelsi this winter for a small fee imo
Again: the results of late make it much easier to accept that everybody's leaving. I don't feel a thing, to be honest.

I think our by far best player is Zdenek Grygera. He must stay.ZoefdeHaas schreef:I only feel for Wes, Maarten,Maduro and Nigel atm
The rest can leave for all that matters
Sneijder and Stekelenburg can stay. Maduro, Babel and Urby are still very young and deserve a bit more time. About the rest I wouldn't really care. They can stay if they want; they can go if they want.

Not just yet, but I must admit that he is many lightyears away from where he was in his first months as an Ajacied.Steef schreef:You've given up on your favorite Rosales, Ko?
It's time for him to start delivering again, that's for sure. Against NEC he was absolutely pathetic - and it wasn't the first time this season.

I think we should either sell Trab, Max and Pee in january or let them rot in the reserves..hahaha....as for de Jong, I got mixed feelings, a move away from the Amsterdam Arena isnt a good move for him. The only players I want to keep are Steek, Sneijder, Babel, Maduro, Emanualson, Grygera and Lindenburgh. They are the backbone of the team
Cannot understand why Ajax would not sell any of them in Jan to get some money !!
Today's press has Liverpool, Man City Celtic Fulham and Arsenal all wanting Pienaar, probably in Jan. As for De Jong the Daily Mirror states he has turned down a new contract and Ajax will sell him for £3 M in Jan. Juventus want him as well.
I would sell in Jan all those who want to go. Looking ahead to the summer we could have a big clear out.
Lobont, Escude aand Heitinga cannot get in the team and could be looking to get out in Jan!! Dont see us giving Vonk or Annastasiou new contracts and cannot see the point in keeping Bouhkhari( a bit part player) or Galasek too injury prone and getting old.
If we sign a new striker then Charistaeas will likely move. one also has to question whether Rosales and Juanfran have a future here!!
PS As I said quite a list and Sneijder's contract is only to 2007. If Ajax are as slow with him as with DeJong and he has a good World Cup then he could be snapped up.On the other hand the people trying to run this club will probably see him go on a Bosman!!!!!!

I agree with u on every single word, the risk we have to re-built everything is too high. Although is notorius that Ajax is the club that more than others suffers Bosman law, I don't understand this passive policy of the club.
So sad.

i was wondering, can anybody explain to me why Escude isnt in the team anymore and might be leaving the club.i personally considered him our best player last year and have been trying to find information on the web on why he isn't in the team. i gather he's not injured so has he fallen out with blind or something? i really find it hard to comprehend that he could be leaving the club. the few times i came to watch ajax last year, he really impressed me.
thanks for your time

That's how the mind of the football fan works: a period of mistakes, then nine months of good to very good football - and then (for the first time in a many months) another erratic game. People will then immediately link that mistake to the old ones, and forget about everything that was in between.
The same can happen to Grygera as soon as he has a few poor games. Players from the Ajax youth do not run this risk. It only goes for the foreign purchases....
I'm afraid that's how it works in the mind of the average Ajax fan...

Man looks like were going to be the Player's R'Us this summer. One hell of a fire sale just hope the guys on top have some kind of plan. Then again they never do .SPL schreef:Cannot understand why Ajax would not sell any of them in Jan to get some money !!

Now seriously i dont think that many players will go come january and i can see why the ajax board do not want to sell them, i mean money has never been a problem for ajax so some player might leave for free but that really wont hit the club economically, what really needs to be done is to start a master plan for next season, see how our loaned players are doing, scout other teams for good players and finally see who from young ajax is ready to make the jump. All of this take's some time, selling De Jong,Pienaar,Trabelsi, etc in January would not be a good move, who is going to replace them???? Nobody of good quality i asure you, doing so would only leave us with another Zlatan situation, lots of money and no replacement. The only players i would sell in january would be Pienaar and Maxwell because Urby is doing fine on the left and both De Jong and Sneijder can take Pienaar´s place.
BRING IT ON !!!!...

that's a disgrace to be honest ko, because of that game against feyenoord. what struck me about him as well reading his interviews, was his proffesionalism. he really made an effort with things like learning the language and culture, i know everybody does but he struck me as a longterm rock and captain of the team. shame. lets hope it doesnt happen to grygera like you say

A point I have made before regards De Jong is whether we will get some compensation for him even if he leaves on a Bosman. The rules in Uk are compensation to a club who have had the player since schoolboy and he is 23 or under.
Chelsea yesterday were ordered to pay £ 300000 each to 3 small clubs for 16 year old ex- schoolboys they have taken on.
I believe this ruling must be for all EU countries so am I correct in believing that we will get money for De Jong in the summer by way of compensation???
I am sure either OPH or KO must know this??
It would make it a bit better to know we will get some money for him.
PS Man u Juve and Milan are after him but in all seriousness he will only sit on the bench at these clubs. Moan U want Ballack and Nigel is not in his league so whereever he goes he will be sitting on the bench.
Good luck to him if he goes as I think he will need it.!!

If Trabelsi leaves in the summer Ajax get nothing for him. Ajax should try and do a deal with Villareal .... Trabelsi for Kronkamp. Kronkamp is getting very little playing time in Spain. Villareal might just be interested if Ajax offer decent money as well. Kronkamp may not be so interested, but with the world cup looming beggars can't be choosers. I think it's worth a try.
