Have to say i was lucky enough to see Inter pre season & in 27 years of watching Crystal Palace id say they were the best team i'd ever seen.In truth their better players are South American,Adriano is superb, but i suppose for every Lombardo you pick up you get a Padavano(waste of money).

Totti: Pure talent, man, pure talent
no doubt of this: out class player. I was referring to the person: which is nothing, just like many others italians that give a bad and sad image of our football. jakobg says well.
another example? they don't care a fucking shit of their national shirt. that's all, I think.
but as an italian I have to say that I am not proud to be represented by aa coco or a totti. and I have to say that not every italian is like them and thinks or acts the way they do, or intend football the way the dinosaurs (trapattoni, zoff, maldini senior) do.

I love Gattusso! Hes ethnic compared to other Italians is amazing, I guess playing for Rangers helped that.

Totti is a good player no doubt, but hes a child and its funny how the 'kid' Cassano looks up to him, they deserve each other.

Which Inzaghi are you talking about, Simone is so funny he dives at everything ever but Fillipo is not that bad in comparison.

I'll never understand why Italians, who are generally very nice people and are renowned for their love of beauty in all things, can approve of such negative, cynical football. :nooo:

Inter fans are up in arms at the moment because they have so few Italian players in the team - 2 to be precise. Sounds just like at Ajax where there are a great number of fans which want to see the team crammed full of Dutchies or even Amsterdammers.

no problem my friend maybe I have been also too impulsive..
so let's have a :bier:

for head: inter fans are not so worried of the many non-italians in the squad, 'cause it is from the president-Moratti era that this is the way thing go in Milan.... with the difference that this year the board has done a good work PROGRAMMING on only 22 players.
which is, unbelievabile to say, a big news for inter milan

Yeah, you might want to take it easy, Zoef.

Mark van Bommel (and Wesley Sneijder) are wankers as well, but that doesn't exactly say anything about the average Dutchie, does it?

Ajax eyes on Roque - from http://home.skysports.com/football/
Dutch titans Ajax are plotting a January raid on Benfica for young forward Helio Roque.

Roque is making a name for himself in Benfica's reserves, but has yet to force his way into the first team plans of coach Ronald Koeman.

Benfica feel Roque has the potential to flourish in the future and could be willing to sanction a loan, but they have dismissed the notion that the player will be allowed to leave on a permanent basis.

Former Ajax coach Koeman could well be prepared to send the 20-year-old to Amsterdam in January and the player's agent has confirmed the interest from the Netherlands.

"Ajax is the team that is most interested in January," said Roque's agent Carlos Goncalves. "But other options also exist."

Roque is contracted to Benfica until 2007 and a stint away from the club in the second half of the season could hand him the chance to showcase his talents on a bigger stage.

Intersting and logical that we are having hooks out on new forwards.

Also interesting to see that he does not fit in Cowman's plans. Might just mean that he fits just fine with us in Amsterdam :D .

I am, however, very sceptical about laoning a 20 year old to play in the no9. Unless we get a buy out clause I couldn't really see the gain in that.

It is not often young players go in and dominate the no9 position in the first couple of months.

Maybe this is the answer for your question. Giovanni Trapattoni said few years ago: "Our football philosophy always was better to win 1-0 after a goal scored by hand in 90' than lost after a great game". I'm sure that there isn't philosophy of all Italian coaches, but surely for most of them. I think it makes sense- they do everything to win the game. Maybe it seems like they don't care about fans who want to see great actions, great goals etc., but alwawys the most important is final score. I hate their catenaccio style, but I must to say that it works. Italy is always very dangerous in big championships.

Out of topic- have you ever seen boxing fights by Ruiz? It is almost the same- he makes 2 blows and goes to defense or clinches. It's not very good to see that, but- as I said before- it often works...

I think it would be silly to bring a young forward in when the club already has Babel. I'm convinced that our forward problems (i.e. putting away chances) will get better over time. So why bring in another young forward?

I don't mind a team playing good defense (in fact I admire it), or even a team that plays defensively, per se (Greece played very well in this style to take advantage of their limited abilities; The US does the same). But there is no need for Italy to do so - they have some tremendous attacking players.

The other thing I dislike about the Italian game is that it goes too far in trying to secure the proverbial 1-0 game: players start diving and crying, rolling around in fake agony after phantom challenges, etc. If the stereotypical Italian team scores in the 30th minute, you can be sure that they will go down as if shot by a sniper a dozen times in the remaining 60", only to kill time and disrupt the opponent's rhythm. THAT'S what I hate about the Italian game.

Yeah, I also hate that things. They don't care about ideas of fair play. It's good that FIFA made the rule, that referees should give the yellow cards for diving. But few players are really good in that (for example: F.Inzaghi) and sometimes one action and one penalty kick might decide about the final score. It might be good tactic for not very good teams, but it's really strange when Italian players do it.

PS: Aveslacker, don't you think we are a little bit out of topic ('New players for Ajax')??

Must not have had the time to land his two blows when he got knocked out in 19 seconds by David Tua ;)

Helio Roque is not a forward, no way in hell he's a #9, he's 1,74 in height thats smaller than Pienaar (1,76 i believe). He is an ofensive midfelder who can play as a forward, kind of like Van der Vaart.

Hmmmm this is very suspicious... Does Pienaar ring a bell????

My guess is that if we fuck out of the champs league, Pienaar is going to Germany in the winter transfer period;ajax would loan out this kid(with a buy option???) use him for the remainder of the season while they scout for a new signing, if the kid is good he stays at ajax fulltime.

All of this is plain speculation of course, just my thoughts and use of logic, i really might be talking bullocks ;)
