Urby Emanuelson
People are discussing Urby in the Lindenbergh thread... I suggest we discuss him here and discuss Lindenbergh in the Lindenbergh thread... Okay?
;)
This is what happened:
Ayman wrote:
he is a crappy left back i saw him last year in a friendly against QPR he is useless. As for Sneijder I dont mind him staying aslong as he learns how to defend as a midfielder and toughen up aswell.
Zoef de Haas wrote:
Yeh I agree, Emanuelson is shit, but I think Pienaar will leave looking for challenge. But I think Olaf would make a good addition in the back
I (Kowalczyk) wrote:
So much for Urby then... Come on lads, give the kid a break. How many chances he's had...? Two? He's playing at the World Cup for U-20s at the moment, so he can't be that terrible. It amazes me: Urby Emanuelson is shit... Markus Rosenberg is already a bad-buy because he's had two crap games in Sweden since he signed for Ajax... Cheer up. Jeezz.
Venezuelan Ajacied wrote:
Urby´s problem is more a manner of confidence, he´s still got time to grow, but in the end i dont think he´s gonna make it, if he were good enough then we wouldent be looking for a left back right now.
SPL wrote:
Having also been at the QPR game I agree Urby did not look a world beater but I judged him on the fact that he was 18 years old and had just come out the youth team with barely a reserve game played. He has now had just 1 season as a pro so give him a chance.
Okay, now carry on! :xyxthumbs:

You saw him play for 45 minutes in a pre-season friendly and you think that's enough to judge him like that and to be so sure of you ? :nooo: It's a bit pretentious I would say...
Anyway, Ajax Netwerk report this evening that he might be loaned out and that AZ seems to be interested. (According to my translation)

Not the answer as the 4th member of a Trabelsi-Grygera-Escude`-? rearguard, but not a throw-away either. I like the idea of a loan to allow him to play.Better than more reserve team football.20 is getting close to make or break age.

i really like the idea of him going to AZ, he´ll get some playing time in a good eredivisie team and some time in the Uefa cup, but still i think Urby is more suited for a team like AZ than at ajax or maybe i have just gotten spoiled with Maxwell on the left side.
Lets not right him off just yet but i for one am a tad skeckptical about this lad.

Yeah, a year with AZ would be good for Urby.
Blind really wants to sign another left fullback, so I'm pretty sure it is Ajax's plan to loan him out.
I have not heard any names, though... Michael Jansen seems unlikely (he committed to Vitesse and the club probably won't let him go at this point). Other names...? I haven't heard any...

Urby is out for at least the next two games agains Groningen and Roda (for the Gatorade Cup). It can even take 2 to 4 weeks before he can return. (read this in "De Telegraaf")
Hamstring injuries seem to be tough to recover from; look at Sneijder for example.
Juanfran is suspended for the Groningen game. ;)

Nice to read those comments from the start of the season. Emanuelson has made his definite breaktrough this season and has probably been the most constant player of the whole squad. It's said he should replace Gio as the Dutchies leftback during this summer's World Cup.

Actually I would love to see this. Even though he is young, I feel Urby shows maturity well beyond his age. We need more of these types coming through the youth ranks.Marijn schreef:Nice to read those comments from the start of the season. Urby and the like, give us hope for next season.
I'm really angry about todays game so instead of posting any comments about it I'm going to give you guys a link to a video that I think you'll find really awesome. Its from Emanuelson when he was a little kid (not so long ago). Check out the last scene when Urby looks at De Boer and Blind, really cool.

No, won't happen. On the other hand, i have said things like this in the past ( Zlatan etc. ) and it happened anyway. I think Van Geel isn't that stupid though.SPL schreef:A rumour today is that Juventus want him and will loan him to Palermo!!
Does anyone think there is a chance we would sell him this summer??
PS The Milan Sneijder rumours surfaced again.
I have used the word rumour.

Won't happen. Simple as that.
The Sneijder thing should be taken a bit (repeat: a bit) more seriously, though. But the Urby/Maduro/Babel generation won't be sold (yet). Come on. The Bosman ruling didn't change football that much. These guys are young and have contracts.
All we have to say to these Juve people is a very simple two-letter word: "No."
In Italian it's the same word, so they'll understand it.
