Will there be a new manager? Can Ajax get out of the funk they are in?
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
Weghorst is now fit again having dropped out of Oranje last week.Dolberg is fit but not yet ready to play 90mins . Berghuis and v d Boomen are still unfit and Rosa and Wijndal doubtful although these 4 add nothing and can leave asap.
The game is being used as a dedication and fundraiser for the Nouri Foundation which is wonderful ,Ajax and fans are never going to forget him .I wont.

Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
Don’t like this MF. We still really need someone who can pass the ball.
Gloukh and Taylor are very similar players - run hard but not technical and horrendous passing. They must have thought Taylor was leaving last summer, otherwise can’t see the point of buying Gloukh.

Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
Very poor Reeger woeful and Edvardsen is no where near Ajax standard.Pasveer too slow ,Alders lively but he is not a LB
We can sell every one of our squad and we would not miss any of them ,this squad is poor.

Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
The mistakes from Sutalo and Alders cost the match. I thought Alders was good otherwise.
The bigger problem for me is that they create barely any danger at home against Excelsior. No passing, no combinations. The only type of attack is Godts or Gloukh taking the ball and running straight at a defender, and giving it away 9 time out of 10.

Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
Apart from Dolberg's goal I have nothing positive to say about Ajax. Hate to say it but we were utter rubbish.Sorry for Alders who is not a left back but gave away the 2nd which really sunk us.
Things were going from bad to worse under Heitinga but has sunk even worse under Grim. Every member of our Board should resign they are to blame for the shambles they have reduced us to.
Benfica will beat this shower of rubbish on Tuesday

Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
Two moments of incredible defensive stupidity get punished and Ajax lose at home to Excelsior for the first time in history. The first goal, nobody stepped up to challenge the man with the ball and then he is in on goal for an easy put away. The second is Alder's fault for heading the ball right back into the middle of the pitch. Maybe that's all he could do as he is so undersized and light weight and did not think he could head the ball back so it would go across the end iine. After that Excelsior packed every one back in and blocked shots and crosses with only a decent shot by Dolberg finding the back of the net. Ajax were pressing well and getting the ball back but just cannot get going as they don't have any technically good MFs. Then Dolberg comes on for an injured Gaaei and there is less technical ability on the pitch. I don't think it was a lack of effort on the day as everyone was playing hard but once they got behind they could not dig themselves out. I'm pretty sure this marks the end of the season for this group of players. I hope that a new TD comes in soon and they can clear some players out in January.
Player Ratings:
Pasveer (6.5) - made one really good save to prevent a third goal
Gaaei (5) - one of the players who needs to leave and I hope the leg injury is not too bad
Sutalo (6.5) - decent enough and he seemed to know who to pass to
Baas (6.5) - probably the best player for Ajax
Alders (3.5) - not nearly good enough and just gets pushed off the ball so easily
Regeer (6) - not too bad and filled in on the back line when Gaaei went off
Taylor (5.5) - hope he gets sold in January but I think his sales value is not much these days
Oscar (6) - did try to create things but he is also another light weight
Edvardssen (5.5) - has had better games
Weghorst (5.5) - did not really have any decent shots on goal
Godts (6) - did a lot dancing with the ball and got some crosses in but there were too many defenders in the way
Dolberg (6) - nice goal but otherwise, just average
Wijndal (5.5) - better than Alders
Moro (5.5) - better than Edvardssen
Klaassen (NR) - WHY????????????
Benfica on Tuesday in the CL and then Groningen next Sunday. I think they might have a chance in the Beker against an amateur side in December but even that is questionable. I cannot blame Fred Grim.

Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
Not blaming Fred Grim although Alders is too small and too lightweight and not even the Jong LB , Jetten is but he is small. We will playing off for Conference football next season as the squad is not good enough
Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
Kroes signings are no better than Mislintat's .Rosa Edvardsen Reeger not good enough ,Weghorst a limited striker. Moro , Gloukh dont impress, Gloukh runs into players all the time and I doubt Bounida would be worse. Itakura is a backup Cd and being paid 3.5m pa. Dolberg will be ok but at 10m we wont get any profit in future and he earns 4m pa !!!
Sadly Mokio looks like he had enough and Bounida should ask to go out on loan .
PS I have not mentioned the 2 Liverpool reserves or Heerkens who between them cost 5m.

Kroes also extended both Klaassen and Berghuis

Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
We are stuck with Klaassen Berghuis and V d Boomen until summer 2027 as no one will buy them.At least Mc Connell and Jaros can go back to Liverpool after Christmas but many other players need selling asap.
In the past when in a mess like this we went back to youth but at present I only see 3 good enough to play ,Mokio Bounida and Steur .All 3 should be getting playing time but if not they will go .They have out grown Jong Ajax level. U19 lost to the bottom team yesterday and our U17 team is fairly poor.
I still think a quality coach would be able to motivate and get this group winning but given the amateurs running the club I fear we wont get one.

Re: 22 NOV 2025; Ajax - Excelsior; Match Day 13
They will have to buy out their contracts. Berhuis seems to be plagued with injuries these days. van den Boomen was always too slow. Extending Klaassen's contract was just mystifying.SPL schreef: zo nov 23, 2025 2:11 pm We are stuck with Klaassen Berghuis and V d Boomen until summer 2027 as no one will buy them.
Goojier, Janse, Faberski and Kaplan all come back from loan next summer. I'm not sure if Verschuren who is also out on loan is good enough. Ajax will still try to sell Kaplan but there were no takers this past summer. the other three will all provide good help. Itakura or Sutalo should be sold though Sutalo probably has more value.
I think there are some very talented players in the system but they desparately need a good TD and manager to get the most out of them.
