U19 lost 2-1 to Feyenoord.They created alot more chances but could not find the net . Both Feyenoord goals were down to non existent marking on the 1st and for the 2nd 3 or4 of our players just stood and watched as their player just ran past them and had a free shot. Ajax are still 2nd but have given away too many points in recent games

U17 won 2-1 , I watched nearly all the game we were the better side and some nice talents. Quick passing getting the ball up the field ,more like Ajax football

I caught the second half and SPL is correct, there are some good players at this level. Ajax just need to get back to the roots and move the youth up through the system and give them good chances with Ajax first team.

I watched the U19 draw 1-1 with PSV and that was a fair result. Not very impressed with Ajax.It is good that we now have U19 and not U18 as it makes development a lot easier. For the last 4 seasons you could have 5 overage players and players were having to move up to Jong Ajax before they were ready.

2 players who did not impress V D Vaart junior,how does he get a contract to 2029! Abildgaard the Danish winger scored a goal but does not impress when I have watched. We pay 1m for all these Scandinavian lads but apart from Eriksen and Dolberg none have every made it. The lad from Norway Skaruud another winger cost 1m and will be earning more than the Dutch lads has played little in this his 1st season.

Once a month the best talents from U15 to U19 have an intergrated training day with 1st team coaches ,if available. Last month Louis van Gaal was at the session talking to the kids ,yesterday one of Ajax's greats turned up Frank Rijkaard.He has not been involved in football since 2013 and this was voluntary from him.Ajax Showtime report he looked happy and spoke to every kid individually. What a wonderful experience for the kids.

Beuker and Kroes and making sure Ajax are going back to bringing through kids.Its what every football fan knows us for. (Well those in their 70's like me know them first of all for Johan Cruijff and total football.)

Read about Rijkaard coming to training and appearing to be super happy. I'd love to see him back at Ajax in some capacity.

Futures Cup is this weekend. Matches and highlights are on the Ajax YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@AFCAjax Ajax won their first two matches. The second against PSG was interesting as Ajax quickly went up 2-0 but then had a player sent off for a nasty foul. they scored again playing with a man down to go up 3-0 but PSG snatched two back including a PK for a hand ball in the box. Ajax scored a clincher to win it 4=2. Pretty good talents at this level for Ajax.

Ajax win the Future's Cup with a 1-0 win over Bayern. they pretty much controlled the match until the final 10 minutes when Bayern started to put pressure on. The defense held up well. It was refreshing to watch this team play over the two days. Nice pressure football and good attacks with quick passes. There are some talented players at this level and it will be good to see them progress. Nice MFs on this side which holds some promise for the future.

I ended up watching 3 of the five matches that Ajax played in the Futures. Here are the players who stood out for me. GK Mark Engel made some very good saves and was calm in the PK shoot out scoring the winner with a deft chip shot. Both FBs Alvarez and Tilbourg were tenacious defenders as well as good going forward. Kasanwirjo (brother of) was a solid right central defender who is also very good with the ball at his feet. Ayyildiz and Romers were solid in the MF, Ayyildiz had a great free kick for a goal. Nash and Barron are both pacy wingers. I think Nash was the player of the tournament.

I did not watch any having been at cricket yesterday and today after watching the shambles at Utrecht went for a cycle.Great that we won the Cup.

Of the players you picked out Barron and Nash upfront and Ayyildiz and Romers in MF have all been having a good season and under contract.U17's defence always seem to be their weak point . Engel and Kasanwirjo both played for Dutch u17's so good they caught your eye.

Yes, we will see how they develop. It was just a year ago that Steur was captain of this team and Bouwman was one of the central defenders. Steur has played in some matches for the first team and I think Bouwman played in a pre-season match but not during the season.

Bouwman has been injured since winter break only just come back recently.

The U-15 team won a prestigious tournament in Mallorca. Winning all group stage matches and then beating Barcelona in the semi-final and Real Madrid in the final match. The final was won on PKs as the match was tied 1-1 after normal time. The Ajax youth keeper had a strong tournament. As Cruyff said, Ajax is all about the youth development!!!

Great for our u15's. I do feel our youth is getting back on track.Mention you are an Ajax fan and the response is always our famous youth academy.Thats after I explain why I am an Ajax fan..

Reading an article on Showtime that we are signing a 16 year old Belgium LB called Moncef Zekri from Mechelen.He played for Morocco u17 in African U17 cup and was one of the stars. He has turned down Leverkursen which shows we are on the right lines again with our youth.

Article says Ouazane wants to stay at Ajax which is good news. We have a hugh amount of talent aged 15 to 18 coming through.Magic ,its what the football world knows Ajax for .
