Very comfortable and could have been 5-0. Taylor a silly yellow means he misses Sociadad game.Hope for more goals and Brobbey gets one
Re: 07 NOV 2024; Ajax - Macabbi Tel Aviv; Europa League Pool 4
Brobbey finally scores!! Don't remember his last goal TBH.
Re: 07 NOV 2024; Ajax - Macabbi Tel Aviv; Europa League Pool 4
Simple win over Macabbi 5-0. Excellent passing all over the pitch and Ajax created numerous chances. Only some brave goal keeping by the Macabbi GK kept this from getting higher. Rasmussen was barely offside on what would have been the 6th goal. Defense was solid with maybe two exceptions, but Pasveer and a VAR offside check kept the visitors from scoring. Ajax are second in the table to Lazio but have the best goal differential at +12. Kudos to Farioli who is getting this team ready to play in every match.
Player Ratings:
Pasveer (7) - had little to do most of the match but came up with two big saves in the 2nd half for the clean sheet
Gaaei (7) - strong game going forward, good on the ball and sent in some nice crosses
Rugani (7) - solid game and VAR kept an own goal off the scoreboard because of an offside call
Baas (7.5) - had one really great intervention to disrupt a potential scoring opportunity
Hato (7) - solid half before being subbed out for Wijndal
van den Boomen (6.5) - had some nice cross field passes but defensively was a bit of a liability because of his lack of speed
Taylor (7) - had to take off a half point for a really stupid YC when he interferred with a free kick in a non-dangerous position but was strong and had a great goal
Fitz-Jim (7.5) - so nice to see him get the ball and quickly find the right player to pass to, was really good in the box and had a good goal
Traore (7.5) - got the match winner early on and was strong on the ball
Brobbey (8) - MOTM for his strong hold up play, two assists and a free kick goal following a double kick by the GK, had three other solid shots on goa that were well saved
Godts (7.5) - caused trouble all match long cutting inside to get free and shoot
Wijndal (6.5) - soid enough subbing for Hato
Akpom (6) - good shift
Berghuis (6) - good to see him back in the game
Henderson (NR) - on late to help out with the defense
Rassmussen (NR) - a bit unlucky not to have scored as he was offside by a few cm
Trip to Enschede this weekend to take on FC Twente

A very easy game and win. Great for Brobbey to score.
Re: 07 NOV 2024; Ajax - Macabbi Tel Aviv; Europa League Pool 4
Very sad to see main BBC news today of Macabbi fans being attacked in the city by pro Palestine fans. Even the football headlines were the same. I feel like the posters on Showtime. Our football last night should have made the headlines.Only Lazio are above us in the 36 table ,the most goals and 1 goal let in the best record.
After 2 bleak seasons of rubbish football with 2nd rate signings I am now starting to see the Ajax I love and although it is early days I sat for 90 mins last night watching Ajax that Cruijff would have approved. Full praise to Farioli and his rotation system which means we have 16 or 17 players being used.Commentator on TNT here in UK saying we have a stronger squad when all the subs came on , and Sutalo and Klaassen were missing.
Brobbey was superb and every Ajax fan must have been delighted for him.The goals will now come for him.Godts ,Fitz-Jim,Hato ,Baas all improving every game and Taylor ,despite his stupid yellow. Ajax are going back to youth with added quality experience. Pasveer 41 today, Traore and Rugani all played well.
Hope for 3 points v Twente although it will not be an easy game, but slowly my beautiful Ajax are starting to bloom again.

The beauty of this rotation system is that if a couple players are injured, the replacements aren't suddenly getting their first start in the season. I love it. We've been screaming about this since the time of ETH. If only he had the brains to use 15/16 regulars, we would've been fresher in the semis of the CL.
We didn't even miss Sutalo and Rensch in the game yesterday. That's absolutely bonkers.

Leave it to the Israeli PR machine to justify a group of hooligan hotheads going to Amsterdam and shout “kill the Arabs” on the Dam square and shift the blame on pro-Palestine people.SPL schreef: ↑vr nov 08, 2024 1:13 pmVery sad to see main BBC news today of Macabbi fans being attacked in the city by pro Palestine fans. A supporters group that previously (in other countries) also caused trouble.
On-topic: yes.. good win against a weak opponent.
Whitey on the moon.
Re: 07 NOV 2024; Ajax - Macabbi Tel Aviv; Europa League Pool 4
Just to add the BBC news on TV did show Israeli fans tearing down a Palestinian flag and taunted taxi drivers and chanted kill the Arabs so clearly the pro Palestinian supporters had been stirred up . I do wonder why Maccabi fans were allowed to travel as they had caused problems elsewhere.
I did think our BBC could have made it clear no trouble at the ground and it was not Ajax fans causing the trouble. Just headline Isreali fans attacked in Amsterdam most people in Uk will have thought Ajax fans were to blame.
