At least we won 2-1 today ,Brobbey and Bergwijn with the goals.Hannover are a mid table German 2nd div side so 2-1 does not look that special.

Ajax U18 play a friendly v Liverpool U18 at de Toekomst tomorrow 14.30 CET and its live on Ajax TV ie Ajax youtube .

I was intending to watch but have a VIP visitor coming at that time ie my beautiful little baby granddaughter.She comes before anything even an Ajax game.

Either the Ajax U-18s are tremendous or this Liverpool U-19 team is just horrible. Stream dropped out at 12 minutes with Ajax up 2-0. Came back on at 30 minutes and Ajax had scored four more.

8-0 at the half. One of the English commenters on the YouTube feed said this is Liverpool's 'B' youth team. If that's true, it's just an huge embarrassment for the club. They should bring the top players of just stay home. these English kids are in a state of shock right now. I can't bear to watch the second half as Ajax could put out a U-16 team and still win this one.

Watched about 15 mins and we were already 2-0 and 2 other chances which should have been buried. Granddaughter then arrived .

Some good talents in our squad Ugwu,Janse and Jetten ,Verkuijl and Konadu will be in Jong Aax next season.

I would also note that Ajax U-18 also won in Liverpool in December 4-3 and that was probably a stronger side than the one they brought to Amsterdam.

EPL sides no longer buy up all the U18 kids from Europe since Brexit.Have to make do with mainly UK kids.

Ryan Babel will play for both teams. A half for Ajax and a half for Liverpool.

Playing St Truidense of Belgium tonight 18.00 CET and its on Ajax TV ie youtube channel .Game played in Oldebroek sports ground ,its near Zwolle and fans welcome.

Jong just beat Telstar 5-1 at De Tokoemst again behind closed doors. No details yet on showtime. From posters we won 5-1 Unuvar 1 Vink 2 and Konadu 2

full lineup not certain but in the 1st half posters reported goalie Nk ,Alders,Ugwu,Verschuren,Jetten,Appiah,Chourak,Brandes,Speksnijder,Konadu,Unuvar
with Vink and Steur certain subs ,Steur set up the 5th . Did think Showtime would report on the game.

1-0 at Ht ,Hato the goal and he is the only player i would want from the 11 as a starter. Janse has promise but Forbs and Banel on the wings really poor.

LOL, I just turned it on at the start of the 2nd half and Forbs links up to Banel for an easy put away.

Yes the 2 wingers finally did something . 4-0 in the end Forbs scored and also Taylor. Out of the 4 MF bought in the last year V d Boomen and Henderson did ok Tahirovic only played 20 mins but Mannsverk ,whom Monchengladbach want, did not impress. Dont know what to say about our MF as Taylor did nothing and only Fitz-Jim looked ok.

Defence wise Hato and Pasveer the best 2 players in the match and Janse looked promising.

I really liked the way Farioli was engaged on the touch line in the friendly. You could hear him yelling at the players to move up press and fight for the ball. I have a feeling that this season could turn out alright.

Ajax playing Rangers in a friendly and are up 2-1 at the half. Fitz-Jim with an open net goal as Taylor was taken down in the box and the ball came to the MF. van den Boomen with a nice free kick that probably should have been saved. Rangers goal was also on a free kick after a silly foul by Medic.

First half line up: Ramaj; Rensch, Medic, Baas, Wijndal; Henderson, van den Boomen, Taylor; Rassmussen, Akpom, Fitz-Jim

Subs on: Banel (45), Gaaei & Berghuis (60); Hato, Janse, Forbs, Tahirovic,Mannswerk & Rijkoff (67)

It ends at 2-1 though Ajax had a couple of late chances. Looks like Baas will be used as a utility player. He was decent enough at CB.

Comfortable win v Sint Truidense today...nice movement, limited tactics giving more freedom..is this the way back to late 90's...and perfect football???

2nd half subs: Vos for Berghuis; Hlynsson for Godts; Kaplan for Sosa; Tahirovic for van den Boomen; Ugwu for Gaei

2-0 at the half with goals from van den Boomen and Rijkoff, both of them off hard low crosses. Don't really know about the quality of the opponent. Ajax have had 80% possession mostly in the opponent half. Ramaj did not have any save to make at all. Impressed with the pressing and quick passing. It is so refreshing to see an Ajax team play this way. I assume we will see subs in the 2nd half.

Not much happened in the 2nd half. Ajax got sloppy in the final 10 minutes. A bad backpass from Mannswerk gifted a goal and it ended 2-1.

Observatons: Faroli has this group playing at a much higher tempo than we seen since the days of ten Hag. there was a much better field awareness and players were confident at passing into space as they knew someone was either there or would be there to receive the ball. the pressing was excellent and Farioli was again on the sideline yelling at players to keep up the high pressure. It was difficult to judge how effective this team is defensively as Al-Wasl really did very little. Interesting that Boumann who is only 17 played the full 90. Baas played CB again but moved out to LB when Kaplan came on; he also got the Captain's armband from Berghuis!! I think he stays with the club this year and Sosa looks like a departure if they can find a buyer. One more friendly against Olympiakos before real play starts next Thursday.

...watching it...despaired at Sosa's first 6 touches..ALL backwards!!! Want to see the ball going forwards..players need to learn to receive the ball sideways, while moving forwards!! Don't want to go back to that 'recycle' era!!

Rumour that Real fancy Hato and he is missing today . Showtime fans all speculating but he went off with a groin injury in training. Medic also not playing a slight injury .

I wont watch ,its a hot sunny day here on the south coast and I am off for a bike ride down by the sea.Summer has arrived in Sussex.

I only watched the 2nd half today. Wijndal apparently injured his shoulder in the first half and came out to the bench with his left arm in a sling. Tahirovic played at LB as Sosa and Baas played yesterday and Hato was not fit. Forbs got the lone goal late in the first half. Not much action from Ajax in the half I watched. Pasveer made some smart saves. Janse played the full 90 and Kaplan came on for Sutalo midway in the 2nd at RCB. Ugwu came on at RW and Hlynsson in the MF with 20 minutes left.

Match ended at 1-0
