Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
I too always think of that 6-4 where Vermeer was dreadful, the worst performance I have ever seen from a goalie.
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Mazraoui's performance at the Rotterdam game which we lost 6-2 comes really close

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
So I just went to check how PSV were doing in Venlo. I saw it was 0-0 with about 10 minutes to go. Could this be the time their luck ran out. I turned on ESPN+ to watch the conclusion. Five minutes from time Lozano pulled one out of his hat and slalomed pass a couple of defenders and with a nice swerving shot put PSV ahead. VVV threw everyone forward and after Zoet parried a shot, a VVV player had what looked to be a shot on an open net but Dumfries with a great play cleared it off the line. 0-1 and PSV escape yet again.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Our old friend Serero scores for Vitesse! ok, only 26 minutes played, but in a live league table we're on top right now. The pressure will be on for PSV, though there famous for turning these games around. If only Vitesse could hold on. Let's go for a treble!

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Big controversy in the Vitesse - PSV game. Lozano went down for a very questionable penalty; then made the penalty shot to make the score 1-1. Then, Vitesse thought they should have been awarded a penalty, but it was not given. Vitesse players are furious over what they feel is a double standard and at Lozano over what they considered an obvious hoodwinking of the referee. At any rate, if it stays at 1-1, we are top of the table -- even on points, but ahead on goal difference. Hup Vitesse!!!!
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
A real nail biter of a 2nd half -- Vitesse went ahead 2-1 -- PSV tie it up -- Vitesse went ahead 3-2 -- Vitesse gave away another penalty, this time with a red card attached -- PSV scored the penalty 3-3. Goalkeeper heroics in the final minutes allowed Vitesse to barely hang on and it ended 3-3. Sooo... we are on top of the table at last by way of superior goal differential.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
The title is practically in our own hands, +9 to the good. If we win our own games it should be enough. Still alive in three competitions. What an exciting spring coming for Ajax

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Just came in delighted they drew and then I see they scored in injury time as usual. We now need to win our remaining 5 games but I dont think we will. That last minute goal by Heerenveen in the 4-4 draw could come back to haunt us.
Mind PSV have dropped points since January and they too will drop some more.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Watched the last 15 minutes and Vitesse's defense was non existent. I thought PSV were going to again pull one out. Lucky that the keeper made some big plays.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Saw the entire Vitesse - PSV game. PSV are generally so poor. They have the same 2 tricks. Lozano/Bergwijn making runs behind the defense and crossing to De Jong OR Angelino hitting crosses in front of the opposition RB.
Vitesse held on and now we're in 1st with a GD lead of 9. We absolutely need to win our 5 games and ideally with a decent margin.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Does anyone remember the highest points difference between us and psv, this year?

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
de Graafschap currently 1-0 up , we can but dream ,come on Matusiwa beat those lightbulbers
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Really nice counterattack goal by deG -- then had a golden chance to go up 0-2, but the set up pass was a little too slow and the defender was able to get enough of a block on the shot to have it go wide. That was evened out when Lozano shot wide from inside the box at a wide open net. We'll see what deG can do to hold on in the second half. PSV attack has relied a lot on long balls and crosses into the box.
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
1-1 PSV get their weekly penalty. It will 2-1 89th min win today.
Ajax really mustn't let this apology of a side be champs.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Yes 2-1 but not in the last 10 mins as usual.Matusiwa was missing . I give them stick but they have scored 89 goals in 30 league games ,only Ajax with 106 have scored more in the top European leagues ,PSG on 89 is next.Just dont like their style of football and I guess frustrated they have won loads of points with goals in the last 10 mins.
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
I wonder if Matusiwa was injured as he was not even on the game day team sheet.

He was suspended.Orange14 schreef:I wonder if Matusiwa was injured as he was not even on the game day team sheet.
Looked like they've missed him in the second half. PSV was ready to be punished for their weak performance.
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Well, looking for a silver lining from PSV's win this weekend -- even though they wound up winning the game (as seemed inevitable right from the start of the second half), at the end of the day we at least added +3 to the goal difference factor.
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
I’m *almost* feeling safe in terms of GD. Almost. I think if we win our games we’ll be fine. But I’m sure we all remember that CL group stage from the 2000s...
Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
Didn't Ajax also lose out to AZ (can't remember if it was them or PSV) because of GD on the final match day???Tom_ schreef:I’m *almost* feeling safe in terms of GD. Almost. I think if we win our games we’ll be fine. But I’m sure we all remember that CL group stage from the 2000s...

Yes I think it was the 07-08 season against PSV.

Re: Other Eredivisie Teams
The 06-07 season indeed.
Only 1 goal made the difference.
