Into the home stretch now and Ajax simple has to win the remainder of their games and see what happens to PSV. The Eindhoven club rebounded smartly from last weeks defeat in Amsterdam, beating PEC Zwolle 4-0 yesterday. Ajax are still ahead on goal differential but look for PSV to pull out all the attacking stops in their remaining matches. Willem II have been in decent form lately so this could be a slippery match for Ajax. PSV are away to Vitesse.

Well -- that was short lived. Blind gives away a penalty and it is now 1-1. Does this team want to be champions badly enough -- or is it going to be another of those many years of late where we stumble coming down the stretch.

Neres combines with Tadic and drives to the endline -- puts in a low cross toward the near post and it goes in off a Willem defender -- so now 1-2 and we are on top again.

Good work from Neres assume own goal? Need to get the 3rd quickly.

Following the 2nd goal we had two 'can't miss' chances that somehow we didn't convert -- hope it doesn't come back to haunt us. Gotta love the way VdBeek is playing -- maybe Barca is having second thoughts about which midfielder they bought.

Ziyech 4-1 game over

Was just going to post how much Ziyech's sloppy shots on goal were starting to get really annoying, when he blasts a screamer into the net for our 4th!

A comfortable win once Veltman made it 3-1 and at 4-1 the last 20 mins were a training game .Emmen and Willem have not proved hard to beat and in both games we have had an easy last 30 mins.

Big one next but I still want that title , just win our 5 last league games .

Other than the win I was happy I got a good stream again no problems at all.No moans at all from me today.

A couple of pieces of shoddy defending by Blind was the only problem for Ajax as they dispensed with Willem II 1-4 in the first to two meetings this Spring. van de Beek got the first goal with some great ball handling/heading by Tadic and de Jong. Great run and volley by Veltman to put the picture perfect pass from Tadic into the back of the net. Ziyech with a rocket closed the scoring out. Pressure is now on PSV to get a result at Vitesse tomorrow.

Player Ratings:

Onana (5.5) - sloppy handling early in the first half and lucky not to have been scored upon. Other than the penalty shot he had little to do.
Tagliafico (6.5) - decent match
Blind (5.5) - silly kick out to bring down a man in the box
de Ligt (7) - thoroughly commanding on a every ball in the air
Veltman (7.5) - good match with a goal and some good forward movement
Schöne (6) - never much of a factor
de Jong (7) - better and better with every match and don't we all wish he would be in Amsterdam next season
van de Beek (7) - industrious as usual pressing and moving all over the pitch
Neres (7) - solid starter these days and had a nice move on the goal leading to the match winning own goal
Tadic (7.5) - wonderful passing all match
Ziyech (7) - usual one or two wild shots but generally solid
Sinkgraven, Huntelaar, and de Wit all on late after the match was settled

Big match on Wednesday with Juventus coming to town!!! This is the way things should be in the Spring!!
