Today is the 117th Birthday of this wonderful and very special club.

20 years ago today. Ajax played away to Atletico Madrid, after a 1-1 draw at home, Ajax had not lost an away game in Europe for three seasons. Against the odds Ajax triumphed 2-3 at extra time. Who remembers this game? This was my first season as an Ajax supporter, it was incredible. But it was deemed a nightmare season, I'd take that nightmare season any day!

P.S. John Veldman was in the team at the time, he was signed for zero from Sparta Rotterdam, and that's exactly what he was worth

de Ligt is 18 today and KJH 34 ,happy birthday to 2 of my favourite Ajax players. I always loved the Hunter when he was with us and still looked to see what he did at Schalke .Last season I decided de Ligt would be my no 2 player after Appie. These 3 are all very grounded and the complete opposites of the bling money bags in their fast cars.

KJH interview on Showtime says both birthday boys want 2 things, Appie to start recovering and the 34th title.Amen to that.

Winning the title is no 1 aim for Ajax this season but Appie to wake up and know his family is the most important news I want to hear this season from the beautiful city of Amsterdam.

A home victory in Johan Cruyff Arena is indeed the least that I expect.
Perhaps we should crowdfund a bit of money and play it on a home victory for Ajax in the 1th leg. Then with the win we can already organise a very fine Ajaxtalk group activity.

But I would also play some of the euros / dollars / British pounds for the Champions League win for Ajax in 2019. Sport victories seem to be written in the stars, in the '94-'95 season Ajax drawed 1-1 against Roda JC (twice) and we saw this score in Kerkrade again this season.

As we approach the holiday season I want to share this video that my daughter and her colleagues at Children's Hospital in San Francisco made. Jenny is playing the xylophone and the three are musical therapists at the hospital. It's part of the medical school at the University of California and they treat very sick children who often have very rare medical conditions.

Almost forgot about you guys!

We’ve changed hosts and everything is running well after the changeover. We used the downtime to also update phpbb to the latest version which meant we had to change our layout too. There is still a bit of work to do on this but at least we are back online!

Many thanks to Arthur, who is the new tech guy and member of the mod team, and did the majority of the work.

For those who use Tapatalk, we’ve updated to the latest version now so push notifications work as well. Whether this is a good thing.. but you can turn it off :)

Last but not least, happy new year! And looking forward to read all your contributions for another year!

A Happy Christmas to all on this site,including all the Dutch lads , I read your comments thanks to Google translate. A big thank you to those who keep this MB open and running. It is very special for me to be able to read and communicate with fans of this beautiful club.

2023 has been a dreadful year football wise but we will rise again we always do and the youth has to be the way forward.Not for 1 minute this season has my love for this club wavered. I have loved Ajax since way back in 1971 when I saw Cruijff and Total football.

I am hoping to come to Amsterdam in the spring , we have not been since covid and I would like to take in a match.
