it explains why he has not signed a new contract now for months. he wants more money. he can go to man u and get his money. he'll see how much playing time he will get.

One story that I read stated that his mother and Raiola are the main ones offering advice. There are a lot of ways to structure a contract and Overmars ought to figure out what makes sense and give him a deadline. He either signs or he sits at home for the next 12 months waiting for some team to meet Ajax's price. Time for Hard Ball.

He's not ready to move to a big club. Ajax should make a bold statement by leaving him out for the next game, summer preparations and also next season until he signs.

Other option is for Ajax to play him in the last game and for the entire stadium to boo him every time he gets a touch.

Having said that, at least he's open and talking about the contract. We've all seen players who say they're staying at Ajax for the next 2-3 years and move on a week after that.

Well I am still waiting to see if Ajax will release the remaining Jong Ajax players whose contracts finish next month but today we have sold Zian Flemming , attacking MF to Zwolle. Has scored some goals for Jong Ajax. Never seen him as a first team player and yet another ex Ajax youth at Zwolle.He has signed a 3 year contract with them but no transfer fee quoted.

Vince Gino Dekker a Jong winger who has had lots of injury is leaving and joining AZ on a free.

Others whose contracts are up,Leeuwenburgh,Sanniez,Sidoel,Boultam Mees de Wit.Bergsma has an option of a year but no decision yet.Alblas has also confirmed he is leaving.

Viergever signs a 4 year deal with PSV.As they have won the title 3 out of the last 4 years that makes them a better side than us !

Not a great player but did a decent job for us and think we have made a mistake in not giving him a contract extension.

Wober is left side Cd and not the finish article so Viergever would have been usefully as cover next season given his experience.

Rumours resurfacing that Italian giants AC Milan, Juventus and Inter are set to lock horns over David Neres, it wouldn't be a bad thing since Neres won't be utilised in any other position in attack. I doubt he will get better than the level he is already at.

de Ligt wont just do what Raiola wants.If he wants to stay another year he will.He seems very level headed and his father and Barry Hulshoff have been his advisors .

The only German club that will pay that kind of money for ANY player is Bayern. German clubs don't get crazy television money and must be locally owned so they rely on merchandising (which Bayern do masterfully).

Article today says Ajax wont let Kluivert go and will let him rot next season. Raiola demands 1.5m euros pa and 40% of future transfer fee (20% to him and 20% to Kluivert).It then says we could lose 2 other Raiola players Gravenberch, who has not yet signed ,coming up 16 this month, and Bakker wont renew.

Ajax cannot afford principles. We must not agree to the demands but sell him now,maybe 15/20m .Of course if he signed and stayed we could see 50m being his transfer value and our 60% is still 30m euros.

Raiola is made out to be an evil greedy being but its still down to the players . Tete, Kishna and Bouy all wanted out of Ajax to take the money and so did Malen now at PSV( still the only under 18 Raiola has taken away).

Nunnely has extended, Gravenberch wants to sign ,family including brother Danzell all say stay at Ajax. Bakker could have gone to England at 16 but signed.

Kluivert is a spoilt little rich kid with a big ego who appears to be easily swayed by money.Not sure he thinks for himself like de Ligt.

I do follow Dortmund and don't think they would spend that amount of money for a player. Leipzig is an odd case because of the way the club is structured (I remember there was some question when they were promoted several years ago about the club ownership being compliant with Bundesliga regulations; didn't a couple of teams want to prevent the promotion because of this???). I think you are right that any club spending that amount of money for Neres would not do much else in the transfer market.

Right now only Schalke of the teams mentioned have qualified for CL football next season if that is the determining factor. Dortmund look to have a leg up and a draw against Hoffenheim secures their spot. Leverkusen need a win over Hannover to leapfrog Hoffenheim and maybe then they would spend big. Leipzig need a win and both Hoffenheim and Leverkusen to lose. It will be an interesting last match day in the Bundesliga.

One think I don't quite understand. I know that youth players can only sign their first contract when they turn 16. Is there a limit to the number of years for this 'youth' contract. I seem to recall that it is three years which means they need to extend before they turn 19. Is this correct?

Before 18th birthday you can only sign a 3 year contract. Kluivert was 19 last week so it seems this new contract has been going on for 12 months!

RB Leipzig are the primary suspects here, they have a reputation of spending silly money willy nilly for players that haven't proven themselves

I wouldn't mind Neres staying, only if he is utilised as a striker, again he will remain on the right flank as an inverted winger, I want Ajax to sign Jahanbaksh and give chances to Noa Lange for that position. So if that means Neres goes, so be it.

Kluivert's asking price is 20m .

If we get an offer of 40m for Neres I fear we will sell him.Jahanbaksh has had a decent season and would be a decent signing if Neres goes.
