All to play for this coming Thursday as Ajax journey to the gastronomic capital of France to take on Lyon in the return tie. Ajax carry a 4-1 lead into the match and certainly an away goal would make it very difficult for Lyon. Lyon won their match today defeating Nantes 3-2 at home while Ajax had an easier time of it against the bottom dwelling Go Ahead Eagles. Ajax had the opportunity to rest key players today.

Let's hope for a good performance!!!

Some very poor defending in the final minute has let Lyon back in the tie. Sure, de Light should not have pushed Lacazette over, but Veltman and Klaassen both had chances to make a defensive play and both failed. The English announcers are saying how well Veltman has played but I take the opposite view; I don't think he has done well at all. At least de Ligt did not get a card. Schöne will have to come off at the 60 minute mark as he will be out of gas. Tete should have started but I'm not sure Bosz wants to burn a sub to bring him on right now. Ajax will have to sort things out as this match is not over by a long shot.

Viergever's very poor intent of clearing the ball is eating me up. And then Davinson just looks at the cross. Very very dissapointing stuff. Come on we were doing really good. Neres or Kluviert have to come on to bring something different to our attacking game. Younes lack of ability to use his left foot leaves him with very few options on the left other than to dribble inside.

Frenkie would have been a good option for this game. His so cool and calculating on the ball. Van de beek has to come on soon I hope, also a calming and creative figure.

Lyon only really had one chance and got exceptional value (2 goals). Ajax had loads but didn't pul them away. If it continues like this, it would be totally crazy for Ajax to lose...
